Windows 10 provides developer features and services that can yield high-quality and engaging apps that delight users across platforms. At the same time, developers have existing investments in technology and skills that they shouldn't have to abandon in order to move forward. In this session, we explore these new features and capabilities from the perspective of WinForms and WPF .NET developers with an emphasis on being able to move forward incrementally from your existing investments as you see value. Discover the flexibility to enrich your existing apps with Windows 10 features, extend to new platforms with Xamarin, and modernize your DevOps software lifecycle with Mobile Center.

WSO2Con EU 2016: WSO2 Cloud and Platform as a Service StrategyWSO2
Cloud computing is rapidly evolving with the introduction of revolutionary container technologies. Virtual machine based deployments are now being replaced with containers, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platforms are being replaced with Containers as a Service (CaaS) platforms and monolithic applications are being decomposed into microservices. The world is now moving towards a new era of cloud computing with containerization. Aligning with this movement, enterprises that are building cloud solutions may need public, private and hybrid cloud platforms.
In this session Imesh will walk you through how WSO2 Cloud and Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions can be used to build a complete enterprise cloud solution. The first half of the session will cover WSO2 Cloud features; application hosting, service hosting, microservice hosting, API management and WSO2 Managed Cloud features. The second half will cover how WSO2 middleware can be deployed on PaaS solutions based on Kubernetes, Mesos DC/OS, Cloud Foundry and OpenShift.

IT Service Catalog: Build a Service Taxonomy in 4 Easy StepsEvergreen Systems
IT Service Catalog - Service Taxonomy
What services do we offer? How do we organize them? How can we make them "customer-centric?" What is a good starting point?
Successful IT Service Catalogs have well-organized services. The services taxonomy, or framework is the key to organizing and managing your services effectively.
Please join us to learn how to build a good service taxonomy in 4 logical steps, as well as 3 key mistakes to avoid.
We will also briefly demonstrate our beautiful and innovative customer-centric IT Service Catalog (built on ServiceNow).
Building REST APIs with Spring Boot and Spring CloudKenny Bastani
In this talk I will introduce you to Spring Cloud, a set of tools for building cloud-native JVM applications. We will take a look at some of the common patterns for microservice architectures and how to use Cloud Foundry to deploy multiple microservices to the cloud.
We will also dive into a microservices example project of a cloud-native application built using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud. Using this example project, I'll show you how to use Lattice to spin up a microservice cluster on AWS. We will then explore what a cloud-native application looks like when using self-describing REST APIs that link multiple microservices together.
How to Operate in the Cloud Using ServiceNow, RightScale and MoreRightScale
With cloud use now a given, IT teams are taking on the role of brokering cloud services across the enterprise. Doing so means integrating cloud into your existing IT environment, including ITSM solutions like ServiceNow — as well as a variety of tools and services — and cloud portfolio management solutions like RightScale, which acts as a hub to orchestrate and operate cloud workloads by providing API access in and out to cloud services as well as to your IT ecosystem.
In the Operate in the Cloud with ServiceNow, RightScale and More webinar we’ll cover common scenarios for cloud orchestration:
Enabling self-service operations for your internal cloud consumers.
Using Cloud Application Templates (CATs) to orchestrate cloud workloads.
Offering multi-cloud access through ITSM solutions like ServiceNow.
Orchestrating complex cloud applications leveraging third-party services.
Automating operations for cloud applications.
Devops is a cultural movement gathering developers and IT Pros responsible for operating applications around common values, goals, practices and tools in order to accelerate development and deployment cycles, creating fast feedback loops between development and operations. Like agility 15 years ago, Devops adoption, accelerated by Cloud platforms adoption, involves organizational, cultural, as well as tehcnical aspects. Emerging movement a few years ago, now well established at consumer web and mobile companies, Devops starts to get in the Enterprise.
This presentation will explain the cultural and organizational aspects of the Devops movement, then will give an overview of the most common tools that are used to implement a Devops approach, showing that Microsoft is one of the few providers proposing a complete and integrated toolset, that works seamlessly for .NET developers, while integrating the most popular third party open source and proprietary tools, making Azure a great platform to implement a Devops approach for Linux, Java and open source workloads. We will talk about Visual Studio Online, Windows Azure, System Center, Windows Server, Azure Pack, PowerShell, NewRelic, Chef & Puppet integrations, Jenkins, …

Cloud Done Right - PaaS is the Remedy to VM HangoverMohamad Afshar
Virtualized hardware is all the rage in enterprise IT. However, is a purely virtualization-focused, Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) approach really the right one for enterprises and government? What’s becoming clear is that virtualization is but one piece of a much bigger strategy for fast, self-service deployment and ultra-efficient operations, referred to as “platform as a service” (PaaS). PaaS leverages a wider set of middleware capabilities to enable application deployment in minutes rather than days and reduces operational costs by up to 90%. This general session will compare and contrast the IaaS and PaaS approaches, discussing architectural and operational considerations for PaaS using examples of best practices. It's a must-attend session for anyone considering building a private cloud.

Leveraging Open Source Automation: A Selenium WebDriver ExampleTechWell
As online activities create more revenue than ever, organizations are turning to Selenium both to test their web applications and to reduce costs. Since Selenium is open source, there is no licensing fee. However, as with purchased tools, the same automation challenges remain, and users do not have formal support and maintenance. Proper strategic planning and the use of advanced automation concepts are a must to ensure successful Selenium automation efforts. Sharing his experience designing and implementing advanced automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver, David Dang describes the factors necessary to ensure open source automation is right for your project. David helps you understand the real effort required to implement WebDriver in a way that will scale and minimize script development. Additionally, he dives into must-haves in your Selenium framework design, the resource and timeline considerations necessary to implement WebDriver, and the long-term, continual improvement enhancements all automation engineers should consider in their Selenium automation implementations.
DevOps in Practice: When does "Practice" Become "Doing"?Michael Elder
DevOps has emerged as the hot trend in development buzzword-ology. With a few quick paragraphs, it proposes to decimate all of the traditional problems you've encountered during your development experience.
In IBM UrbanCode, we build products to help customers follow good DevOps practices. You may think DevOps is about the release process, but really it's about applying a mix of automation and operational practices earlier in your development life cycle so that rolling out to production becomes easier. DevOps promotes a focus on small-batch changes over large complex updates which are harder to predict and harder to roll back when problems occur. With greater velocity, rolling out smaller changes becomes more common place. Additionally, IBM UrbanCode makes extensive application of cloud technology that intercepts well with practices in DevOps around production-like environments.
In this talk, Michael Elder describes how we practice DevOps internally with a mixture of IBM-built and open source tools. He'll discuss the areas that we do well and the challenges that we have with changing our culture around areas like test automation. On top of that, he'll describe how you can leverage these approaches in your own development process!
What is DevOps? It’s a fairly hot term in today’s application development and operations space, but there are many different definitions as to what DevOps really is. Ultimately, DevOps is abouthow teams build software, deploy software and maintain it throughout its lifecycle. There is nosingle, right answer to the question, but there are a number of tools and strategies that can helpcustomers adopt a winning DevOps process that allows dev and operations teams to moreproductive together. In this session, the audience will learn what DevOps is at a high level, provide strategies for howto implement a DevOps process that fits their organization’s needs and how the MicrosoftApplication Lifecycle Management (ALM) tooling can help with this. As part of the session, attendees can expect to learn how to set up the Microsoft ALM stack for their teams and how touse it effectively in their software development lifecycle, regardless of the role each individual plays on the team.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Continuous Delivery is the toolset that allows us or the customer to create data-driven version controlled, tested artefacts that define the configuration of their environments. Servers and whole platforms can be managed without touching the servers themselves, all changes are pushed through the pipeline to ensure they are recorded and correctly distributed. Integrated testing increases confidence that new releases will be deployed with no problems.
In the video we will briefly show a Chef Cookbook pass through the CI tool chain. We will then use Ernest to build a Linux and Windows server.
In the live demo, we will use the Chef Cookbook featured in the video to turn both the Linux and Windows servers (also the ones featured in the video) into Web servers using Ernest.
