This document summarizes research investigating improvements to SWATH acquisition and processing techniques for forensic toxicological screening using high resolution mass spectrometry. It finds that SWATH acquisition can identify compounds as well as targeted MS/MS, but purity scores are lower due to wider isolation windows. Overlapping variable windows and deconvolution processing improve purity scores and cycle times compared to standard SWATH. These techniques enable confident identification of compounds in spiked urine samples.
