This document outlines a 5th grade lesson plan on immigration in America. It will analyze the 24 students in the class, who come from various backgrounds. Over the course of a week, students will learn about immigration through videos, books, activities, and role-playing an immigration experience. They will research different immigrant groups, write journals from an immigrant's perspective, and have an "Immigration Day" to simulate the process of immigrating to America. The goal is for students to understand and describe immigration in America with 85% accuracy by the end of the lesson.
