Children Around The World
Presented by: Kasey Collins
The Learners
• Elementary students in the 5th grade
• 18 students
• 14 students are white
• 3 students are Hispanic
• 1 student is Asian
• They all speak English
Objective
During this week my students will research and present their
findings on the privileges and responsibilities of childhood from
culture to culture. We will first watch a documentary on people
and their daily lives throughout the world. Then I will ask my
students if they could pick any part of the world, where would
they want to go to learn about the role of childhood? I will then
go over how to correctly research by using maps, books, and the
internet. I will give them certain questions to focus on and what
is to be expected. I will then put them in groups and have them
decide as a group on their topic. We will work on this throughout
the week and on the last day they will present to their peers. I
expect a 100% degree of accuracy from all of my students.
