This study evaluates the clinical safety and side effects of the intradermal regimen of the tissue culture anti-rabies vaccine (PCECV) in 654 animal bite victims treated at a tertiary care hospital in Jaipur, India. Side effects were predominantly local, including irritation and minor pain, which were manageable with over-the-counter medications, confirming the regimen's cost-effectiveness compared to traditional administration methods. The findings support the recommendation of IDRV as a safe and economical method for rabies prophylaxis in a country where rabies is endemic.
