1. Imagine you become an animal...then,
run,fly,swim, walk,breathe.
GOALS:
-Breathing activity within emotional education.
-To focus the attention on the moment.
-To promote self control trough relaxing and breathing.
-To disconnect from a previous activity, normally stressing or
physically exciting, such as physical education class, an exam or a
test, a rainy day without playground time, sports or games at
break times.
-To share respectfully the moment for doing the relaxing and
breathing exercises .
DESCRIPTION:
Step 1: Teacher asks children to sit down in each one's chosen
relaxed posture. Some mood music will be played to create a
comfortable atmosphere. Then, he/she starts to talk and explain
the activity.
Step 2: Teacher will start talking:
-'Close your eyes and concentrate in my voice. Let's breathe
together. Take the air by your nose. Keep it for three seconds,
one, two, three. And then, throw it by your mouth, softly, for thee
seconds. One, two, three. Count to three each time in your mind.
Don't use words. Be concentrated. Relaxed. Listening to the music
and to my voice. Imagine the things that I will keep telling
2. you...It's going to be like a story...where you are the main
character... so you must pay a lot of attention to see what is going
to happen to you...but feel calmed and relaxed because it will be
a nice story. I promise.
-Take air by your nose, one, two, three..count with your mind...
and throw it by your nose...one, two, three.... Relax.
- Imagine that YOU are you, walking quietly , breathing, listening
to this soft music, observing everything around you.. and noticing
that what you see is so beautiful. Beautiful houses along the
way...trees...a river...and you keep walking...and then you feel
the air on your face...and you are running now.
You run because you are a horse. A wonderful horse that runs so
happily and free, just enjoying the fields, through all the open
spaces, and then you breathe, one, two, three...and you enjoy
the air.
(Now the teacher takes some fresh body spray and goes quietly
and gently spraying a bit over the children faces to make them
feel the air sensation and the smell of the fresh air)
...and that freedom sensation...but now..you don't run anymore.
You breathe, quietly, one, two, three...because now you feel the
air around all your body, under your arms and legs, which are not
anymore arms or legs...
they are wings now...because you are a colorful butterfly! And so
you feel yourself flying slowly and relaxed...watching all the world
from above, observing attentively and discovering the amazing
world, calmly, with no hurries…...and you breath...one, two,
three...and you fly happily with your lively colours...and you
breath again...one, two, three...but now, some bubbles come out
of your mouth when you breathe beacuse...you are a fish!
A small and lovely fish swimming pleased in its clean and fresh
lake. You swim carefully, watching everything around you, feeling
happy to be able to swim so comfortably while you enjoy the
fresh and clear water, full of sunlight and bright blue and green
3. colours. And you breathe happily, one, two, three...and you
keep the air...one, two, three...and the fish very calmed closes its
eyes and then opens them again after breathing, one, two,
three..and then, you return to be YOU again!
And you breathe very quietly and pleased, one, two, three...
feeling yourself very relaxed and calmed, as you know that YOU
are a very singular and special person, who is loved, protected,
and seccure in here.
You have, and you can enjoy, you’re space here in this class, at
the school, at this town, in the world, and that is a wonderful fact.
You know that you are lucky and happy and that you can make
the others feel happy too.
So, to finish the activity, I am going to ask you if you liked it. Rise
your hand to answer please.
Thank you. If you didn’t like it please, rise your hands.
If you would like to repeat it in other occasion, please, rise your
hands.
Thank you.
Finally, let me thank you for sharing this travel along your
imagination and feelings with me and the rest of the class, and for
sharing your sincere opinions about it with me.
Thank you so much. I love you all.
A big silent applause for all.
During all the mindfulness practice,✳
everybody is consciousness breathing,
slowly and carefully, as the teacher will
remind before starting and later again.
