Introduction Best terms to describe image filtering will be an image manipulation.  Image filtering offers a good tips and tricks to help process an image into a better or fun image. Image filtering processes by modify each of pixels in the image. You can add or remove from picture by using image filtering.  (Ex: Image>Adjust>Level. You can change the levels of RGB and see the difference.  If you subtract red, the picture will become very red. The blue and green are removed.  If your picture is too sharpen, you can add the blur to soften the picture.) It is proved to be useful tool.  Found in Photoshop and other photography/art relate programs.

Blur Blur is a tool that really soften the picture.  You can see the pixels are smeared.  Blur is best to use if you feel your image is too sharpen.
Sharpen -Sharpen restore what is lost in the pixels From capturing process.  -Sharpen finds the edge of the pixel then toughen up it.  -It is best to be used if your image is too blurry.
Conclusion Image filtering is good tool to use if you want to change or improve your image. There are many various of filter effects you can use. Filter changes each of pixels inside the image, not image itself. Some filter tools are very advanced and it will require a lot of time to modify.  The purpose is to improve the image or enjoy manipulating the picture.
