I chose ILSC’s University Pathway Program to prepare
me to get into a Canadian university. The University
Pathway advisors helped me to identify and correct
my difficulties in English, and I found this program
also really improved my writing skills, something
that is difficult for foreigners because English has its
own unique writing structure. Because of the skills I
learned in the University Pathway Program, I feel very
prepared to start my studies in Political Science at the
University of Prince Edward Island.

I can remember so many things about TRU and my time there. I learned

cultures. I know how to manage my time successfully. I am learning about
Canada and Canadian culture since I am still at TRU; not only about
Canada, but also about many countries.

Coming to Sault Ste. Marie from my homeland Ghana, I wasn’t sure what
to expect. I found out right away that the people here are very friendly, and
they make it easy to get involved. Since coming here, I’ve been involved with
AMSA, worked on campus in the library and student services, and was elected
to the AUSU Board of Directors. I don’t think I would have had those same
opportunities at a bigger school.
