The Quba Mosque is the first mosque built in Islamic history in 622 CE. It is located in Medina and was founded by the Prophet Muhammad on land belonging to the Kalsum bin Hadam family. The mosque has undergone several renovations and expansions over time, with the most recent in 1984 adding four minarets, 56 mini domes, and marble courtyards to accommodate over 30,000 worshippers. The Quba Mosque originally served multiple functions beyond prayer, including education and community gathering.
