Presenting by: Zeeshan Ahmad
Introduction to illusion
Kinds of illusion
1.Reversible figure
2.Muller-lyer illusion
3.Ponzo illusion
4.Moon illusion
5.Constancy illusion
Causes of illusion
1.Due to abnormal condition
2.Due to limitation of sense organs
3.Due to apperception
CONTANTS
Illusion is an incorrect perception that occurs
when sensation is distorted. It does not
correspond to real object.
For example a pencil put in glass
of water appear as a bent which
is not.
Kinds of illusion
1.Reversible figures:-
Reversible pictures present
ambiguous information that can be interpreted is more
than one ways. The well known example of reversible
figure is Rubin vase figure.
Muller lyer illusion:-
One of the most illusion is Muller
lyer illusion. In this illusion two equal length
lines appear to be different length due to
different sides.
examples.
Ponzo illusion:-
In ponzo illusion,the two horizontal
lines of equal length appear to be different
lengths due to the linear perspective of
converging lines.
Examples:Railway
Moon illusion:-
The moon is often perceived as racing
through a thin lyer of clouds.
Constancy illusion:-
Constancy can create powerful
illusion. For example In monster movies a small
monster close to camera gives false perception
.
Causes of illusion
1.Due to abnormal condition:-
A person suffering from jaundice or color
blind.
2.Due to the limitation of sense organ:-
For example the eye and the ear.
3.Due to apperception:-
Our interests and expectation influence
our perception.
Example: Looking for friend.
