This document summarizes a presentation on utilizing screen sharing tools to connect given at the Internet Librarian 2013 conference in Monterey, CA. It includes a chart comparing the features of various screen sharing tools such as Google Hangouts, Join.me, and Screenleap. It then discusses how screen sharing can be used for meetings, consultations, collaboration, and instruction. Finally, it presents data on research consultations conducted at the UC Irvine Libraries over 10 years that shows an increase in online consultations.
