The document is a production diary for a student's short film project. It provides weekly updates over several months of filming, editing, and finishing the film. The student films scenes at home and other locations, edits footage in Adobe Premiere Pro, adds effects and subtitles, records interviews, and incorporates music. The diary details progress made each week and plans for the following weeks, including additional filming, editing, finishing touches, and uploading the completed film.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

(Detailed Weekly Summary)
10/02/14 First I booked video camera, sound recorder, clapper
board and boom microphone. In the afternoon I printed the script
and the storyboard at college so I can get ready and know what to
do when I start filming. In the evening, I started filming at my
house. I was the cameraman because the shots were hand-held
and the sound-recorder was my boyfriend, Michael. The characters
I needed were my mum, sister and my dog. We didn’t film all the
scenes, just 2, 4, and 6.
13/02/14 We did more filming at my house in the evening, scene
10, 14, 16, and 18. I was the cameraman and Michael couldn’t be
there that day so I asked my sister’s boyfriend Anthony to be
sound recorder and he was happy to help. The characters I had
were my mum, sister, cousin, auntie and uncle.
14/02/14 I brought the camera and sound recorder back to
college, in the morning. I uploaded all the footage to my computer
and saved them to ‘New Volume (E:)’ drive. I watched all the
footage and renamed them to make it easier when I edited it. I
kept the best ones and deleted the footage that I won’t need it or
it is not good for my short film. I created a project on Adobe
Premiere Pro but haven’t started editing it.
After half-term, I am planning to sort the footage out by
putting the film and sound together on Adobe Premiere
Pro. Also I am planning to do more filming, some at my
house and start the interview part. Then I am going to
rename all the footage so we will know which is which
when I’m editing it. So this will make it easier for me. If I
can get it done in time then I can start editing.

25/03/14 I went to see my tutor and I booked my video camera,
sound recorder, boom microphone and clapper board to do more
filming.
26/03/14 At my house, I did more filming for Scene 8 and before
half term, I looked back all my footage and I felt that scene 10
needed to be done again because I wasn’t happy with my other
footage so I filmed that scene as well.
Next week, I need to do more filming on some interview
scenes, the dropping camera/screaming scene, scene
12 and I need to out the sound and the video camera
together.

27/03/14 In the evening, I filmed the interview scene and I needed
a place that looks like interview room so I thought I could use my
dad’s work place which was at Turnpike House. Once I got there,
my dad showed the meeting rooms and I had to choose one and I
picked a good room that will look more like interview. We filmed
all of the interview scenes.
28/03/14 I uploaded all the footage on my computer that I have
filmed that week and saved them to ‘New Volume (E:)’ drive. I
watched all the footage and renamed them to make it easier when
I edit it. I opened Adobe Premiere Pro and I imported all the
footage and sounds that I wanted to use for my short film. Then
once I got the footage and sound, I had to match it up and checked
that it was correct. I deleted the original sound that was with the
footage then once they are all right and together, I exported it and
added the ‘SS’ an example, ‘Scene 1 Take 1 SS’. The scenes I did
that day were 2, 4, and 6, scene 10 take 1, 14 and 18.

03/03/14 I went to see my tutor to book my video camera
unfortunately all the video cameras were booked up but I booked
my video camera that day for next week to make sure I could use
the camera.
07/03/14 I opened Adobe Premiere Pro; I imported all the footage
and sounds that I wanted to use for my short film. Then once I got
the footage and sound, I had to match it up and checked that it

I couldn’t booked my camera this week but I already
booked my camera for next week and I am planning to
film some interview scenes, the screaming/dropping

scene 1, 11 and 19. I finished filming all interview scenes.
12/03/14 In the evening, I was at my house and did scene 18 again
because I didn’t drop the video camera before so I did it again and
this time I ‘dropped’ the video camera.
14/03/14 I uploaded all the footage and saved them to ‘New
Volume (E:)’ drive. I watched all the footage and renamed them to
make it easier when I edit it. I opened Adobe Premiere Pro and I
imported all the footage and sounds that I wanted to use for my
short film. Then once I got the footage and sound, I had to match it
up and checked that it was correct. I deleted the original sound
that was with the footage then once they are all right and

21/03/14 I did more editing on my short film and I ‘supposedly’
dropped my camera which would make a TV static effect. I
have never used this effect before so I found a tutorial on
‘YouTube’ and I used ‘Adobe After Effects’ and followed the
tutorial and then exported it out of ‘Adobe After Effects’ and
imported it into ‘Adobe Premiere Pro’ and replaced the
original footage. The T.V. static I created had no sound
therefore I used the skill of converting sounds and found
some T.V. static sound from ‘YouTube’.
Next week, I am planning to find some background
music that fits with the film.

28/03/14 I needed to convert sounds because I wanted to add
suspense music to certain scenes therefore I found the
sounds on ‘YouTube’ and then used a website called
‘hddownloader.com’ which converted the music into a
compatible file that I could put into ‘Adobe Premiere Pro’. At
first I was unsure on what to do however I asked my tutor for
some support, he showed me how to use it. I imported the
suspense music and put it where the music should be.
I am planning to book the video camera, sound
recorder, boom microphone and clapper board. So I can
film scene 12 and I also want to start creating subtitles.

01/04/14 I went to pick the video camera, sound recorder, boom
microphone and clapper board from my tutor.
02/04/14 I was at my house and filmed scene 12. Michael was
there to help out and did the make-up on my arm when a ‘spirit’
scratched me. I finally finished filming all the scenes.
03/04/14 I uploaded all the footage that I did for scene 12 and I
had to do it in Paul’s lesson because I only booked the equipment
till 03/04/14. Also I started writing the subtitles by watching my
rough edit of my short film.
04/04/14 I uploaded all the footage and saved them to ‘New
Volume (E:)’ drive. I watched all the footage and renamed them to
make it easier when I edit it. I opened Adobe Premiere Pro and I
imported all the footage and sounds that I wanted to use for my
short film. Then once I got the footage and sound, I had to match it
up and checked that it was correct. I deleted the original sound
that was with the footage then once they are all right and
together, I exported it and added the ‘SS’.
I asked my tutor how to put subtitles on my short film. He showed
me how to use it. First you clicked ‘Title’ then ‘New Title’ and
‘Default Still’. It comes up with a scene where I wanted to put the
subtitles. I had to choose which title style I wanted and where I
wanted them placed. I did this for all the scenes. I finished editing
the film.
After the Easter Holidays, I plan to do black eyes editing,
create the credits and hopefully finish the short film.

08/05/14 I showed my tutor, my finished short film and he said it
was good but he said I need to make a few changes so he advised
me to introduce the sound better by having it slowly increasing at
the beginning and at the end having it slowly fading out. I used the
software called ‘Reaper’ which allowed me to change the volume. I
tried to export my finished short film and upload on YouTube
however the HD quality wasn’t good and I listened carefully to the
sounds and some of them were too loud or needed little changes.
09/05/14 I changed the sounds and I was finally happy with my
short film so I asked my tutor to help me how to export the short
film with better HD quality. The result was much better than the
first and I uploaded on YouTube. I was really happy how the short
film looked.
