2. Introduction:
I.E.S la Mola is located in
Novelda. the Institute
consists of three buildings
A, B and C, gym, sports
courts and playground.
Blocks B and C, as well as
the car park and the house
of the caretaker were built
later after two renovations
carried out on different
dates
3. Building A:
It is the oldest and was built in 1967
That year the school was part of the
Institute "The Assumption" of Elche
and since 1968 it was part of the
Institute "Azorín" of Elda. It was in
1974 when the Institute ceased to be
section of Institute Azorín and became
an independent Centre called National
Institute of Secondary Education. It
was remodelled during the course
73-74 academic year in which classes
were offered in the current Modernist
Museum of the town and at the end of
the the course the library was
inaugurated .
4. Building B:
It was built in 1979. It
consists of two entries,
both with ground floor
and first floor. There
are classrooms and
laboratories of Science
and Physics and
Chemistry.
5. Building C
It was built during the 95-96 course, when
all the other buildings were completely
remodelled. It consists of ground floor
and first floor. The caretaker office, Aula
Magna, multipurposes classroom,
workshops of Technology, Arts as well as
the English and Mathematics
departments are located there. On the
first floor there are two Computers
classrooms , the Latin Department , two
classrooms for Music, a Drawing
classroom, the Speech Therapy room
and diversification classroom. Building
C has a lift too.
6. Gym and Green areas:
Gym
It was built in 95-96 course as well as
Building C next to the changing
rooms and existing sports tracks,
which were renovated like the rest
of the Centre.
Green areas
These spaces have an educational
purpose. Activities related to the
subjects of Physical Education,
Audiovisual Communication,
Environmental education, practices
of PCPI of Gardening and various
cross-curricular activities are
developed here.

8. Current Situation:
The IES La Mola is situated in the town of Novelda. The school has
students from Novelda (86%) and La Romana (14%). The percentage of
students from other towns is irrelevant. The IES La Mola welcomes
the students from three of the five public schools of the town. The
school has students of seventeen different nationalities. The students
of “Bachillerato, Vocational Training courses and PCPI come from
different schools and from a wider geographical area. Since the year
04-05 the school shares its facilities with the Official Languages
School of Elche, (now the Language School of Elda). They provide
teaching of French, German and English at elementary and intermediate
level.
