Identify an organization that you admire/do not admire (corporate, sports franchise, not-for-
profit, etc.). What types of follower styles are prevalent? What is the leader's approach
(authoritarian, participative, stewardship, servant)? Is it effective? If so, what are the results? If
not, what could the leader do differently with their followers?
Solution
Organization: Apple
The style of the followers are people who like to listen to music and share information, these
kind of people like to invest money on good things, things that will last a couple of year and not
some gadget that will be good for 5 months.
iPhone and iPad created entire new class of devices where none existed and as Steve Jobs said,
consumers don't know what they want, and Apple created products people now can't live
without that weren't even on their radar before Apple showed them the way.
More importantly, people are willing to pay a premium for it. They are thus able to command a
very strong brand premium and avoid the commoditization trap that befalls most hardware
makers.

What is the leader's approach (authoritarian, participative, stewardship, servant)?
For this question I will use Steve Jobs as the leader. When Steve Jobs was in charge of apple
many of his employees will describe him as authoritarian but after he was fired from his own
company and returned 20 years later he became participative and demand people to be creative
and honest with that they do.
He demmand nothing but hard gord but with a more friendly approach and it was then when
apple luanch the ipod.
The results for Apple speak for themselves, Ipod, Iphone, Ipad, apple TV , Itunes...all of the
services are connected as long as you have a apple device.
I believe Steve Jobs needed to step out of his company to look at the bigger picture like he did
and brought back the company from ashes to the #1 company in the world.
Now days, there are 2 kind of people the ones who uses apple products and the one that dont, as
cold as it might sound it is the truth.

Solution Organization: Apple The style of the followers are people who like to listen to music and share information, these kind of people like to invest money on good things, things that will last a couple of year and not some gadget that will be good for 5 months. iPhone and iPad created entire new class of devices where none existed and as Steve Jobs said, consumers don't know what they want, and Apple created products people now can't live without that weren't even on their radar before Apple showed them the way. More importantly, people are willing to pay a premium for it. For this question I will use Steve Jobs as the leader. When Steve Jobs was in charge of apple many of his employees will describe him as authoritarian but after he was fired from his own company and returned 20 years later he became participative and demand people to be creative and honest with that they do. He demmand nothing but hard gord but with a more friendly approach and it was then when apple luanch the ipod. The results for Apple speak for themselves, Ipod, Iphone, Ipad, apple TV , Itunes...all of the services are connected as long as you have a apple device. I believe Steve Jobs needed to step out of his company to look at the bigger picture like he did and brought back the company from ashes to the #1 company in the world. Now days, there are 2 kind of people the ones who uses apple products and the one that dont, as cold as it might sound it is the truth.
