During the summer of 2015, the author interned as an instructor at iD Tech, where he taught C++ and electrical engineering classes using Arduino. Designing a curriculum for a two-week course on broad topics was challenging, requiring the author to identify fundamental concepts that could be understood in the timeframe while teaching the same concepts through different perspectives to accommodate varying learning styles. The opportunity opened the author's eyes to other engineering industry opportunities. Teaching teenagers reinforced the author's own understanding and showed that adapting to different skill levels and encouraging students' ambition was important. The author incorporated favorite topics like circuit bending and learned from coworkers. Overall, important lessons were learned outside of engineering about varying teaching styles to reinforce topics in ways textbooks
