Axiata Digital (Malaysia) and Great Eastern announce strategic investment
and deepen collaboration in Fintech services
Axiata Digital, the digital services arm of Axiata Group Berhad announced a
strategic investment of US$70 millionby Great Eastern to boost its fast-growing
digital financial services business across the region. This deal marks a significant
milestone for the Axiata Group. With the investment, Great Eastern takes a 21.875%
stake in the holding company for Axiata Digital’s DFS business, with Axiata Digital
Services SdnBhd holding the balance. The company, called Boost Holdings SdnBhd,
will comprise of:
• Boost, the largest homegrown e-wallet and lifestyle app with over 7.5 million users
and 170,000 merchant touchpoints
• Boost Indonesia, with 544,000 merchant touchpoints
• Aspirasi, a micro-financing and micro-insurance digital financing provider with
over US$20 million in loans disbursed to-date
• Apigate’s payment business arm which is a regional player for Carrier Billing
• Trust Axiata Digital Limited, a joint venture with a local bank in Bangladesh
• Launchpad for bringing digital financial services to other Axiata markets

Bell Let's Talk and Kids Help Phone announced a national $1 million investment
to enhance ongoing crisis support for young people coping with mental health
challenges during the COVID-19 crisis and beyond.As the need for support has
continued to grow during the crisis, Kids Help Phone has continued to ramp up its
crisis responder and professional counselling capacity, enhanced its texting
platform and created a range of self-directed online resources. With a 58% overall
increase in demand during COVID-19 and text interactions up 62%, Kids Help
Phone expects to make 3 million connections with young people this year,
compared to 1.9 million in 2019. Bell announced a $5 million increase in Bell
Let's Talk funding in response to COVID-19 with support for a range of
organizations delivering urgent mental health support on the front lines of
Canadian communities, including Kids Help Phone, Canadian Mental Health
Association, Canadian Red Cross, Revivre and Strongest Families Institute.

Airtel (India): Carlyle to acquire approximately 25% stake in Airtel's Data Centre
business at a valuation of US$1.2 billion
The Carlyle Group announced an agreement under which Comfort Investments II will invest
US$235 million in Nxtra Data Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Airtel engaged in the data
centre business. The post-money enterprise valuation of Nxtra is approximately US$1.2 billion
and Carlyle will hold a stake of approximately 25% in the business upon completion of the
transaction, with Airtel continuing to hold the remaining stake of approximately 75%. The
transaction is subject to the necessary regulatory approvals, including approval from the
Competition Commission of India. Headquartered in New Delhi, Nxtra from Airtel offers secure
data centre services to leading Indian and global enterprises, hyperscalers, start-ups, SMEs and
governments. Nxtra’s nation-wide portfolio of 10 large data centres and more than 120 edge data
centres provides customers with co-location services, cloud infrastructure, managed hosting, data
backup, disaster recovery, and remote infrastructure management. India is witnessing a
considerable surge in demand for secure data centres as businesses undertake digital
transformation and consumer demand for digital services continues to increase. The expansion of
hyperscalers across the region following the government’s directive on data localization is
propelling a lot of this demand, with other market drivers including the growth in user data and
increase in cloud penetration.

Airtel (India) adds Edtech to its digital portfolio with stake acquisition in kids
learning startup - Lattu Kids
Bharti Airtel, India’s largest integrated telco, said that it has acquired a strategic stake in
Edtech startup Lattu Media Pvt Ltd as part of the Airtel Startup Accelerator Program.
Mumbai based Lattu Kids specializes in digital learning tools for children. Its highly
popular Lattu Kids app focuses on improving English vocabulary, English reading and
Maths skills for children under the age of 10 years through entertaining, fun learning
animated videos and games. At over 500 mn, India has the second largest number of
internet users in the world, driven by affordable smartphones and the lowest 4G data
tariffs globally. This deep penetration of internet has also led to wide adoption of online
learning tools. The COVID-19 pandemic and closure of schools has further accelerated
the adoption of virtual classrooms and digitally enabled learning. It is estimated that in
India Edtech will become a USD 2 bn plus industry by 2021. The investment will enable
Airtel to add Edtech to its premium digital content portfolio and give distribution scale
to quality learning material from Lattu Kids. Airtel already has over 160 mn monthly
active users across its digital platforms – Airtel Thanks app, Airtel Xstream app and
Wynk Music.

Charter (USA) Invests $10 Million with National Urban League and National Action
Network to Assist Black-Owned Small Businesses in Underserved Communities
Charter Communications, Inc. announced the company will invest $10 million in
partnership with both the National Urban League and National Action Network to
support Black and other minority-owned small businesses in underserved
communities. This investment will help strengthen small businesses and provide
a long-term economic impact vital to the continued development and growth of
these communities. Charter’s Spectrum Community Investment Loan Fund will
invest $3 million in NUL’s community development financial institution, the
Urban Empowerment Fund, which will make individual loans to minority-owned
small businesses and, under the direction of and on behalf of NAN, the Loan Fund
will invest an additional $3 million in low-interest loans directly to CDFIs. In
addition, Charter will provide $3.5 million in PSA value to promote its partners’
Loan Fund opportunities, and will contribute a $500,000 capacity grant to the
NUL for revitalizing its CDFI platform including funding for staffing,
infrastructure, and operations.

Telia Company (Sweden) Agrees to Divest Its Interest in Turkcell Holding
Telia Company has agreed to sell its 47.1 percent holding in Turkcell Holding, which
owns 51.0 percent in the listed company TurkcellIletisimHizmetleri, to the
state-owned Turkey Wealth Fund for USD 530 million. The transaction also includes,
subject to closing, a full and global settlement of all shareholder disputes and
litigations connected to Turkcell and Turkcell Holding. Since the divestment of its 14
percent direct ownership in 2017, Telia Company has not been a direct owner of
TurkcellIletisim. Fintur, which was jointly owned with Turkcell, was dissolved in
2019, further limiting Telia’s direct involvement with Turkcell. Today, Telia
Company agreed to divest its 47.1 percent holding in Turkcell Holding to Turkey
Wealth Fund, the strategic investment arm of Republic of Turkey, and thereby
completes the exit from Turkey. The governance of Turkcell Holding has been
challenging. Disagreements between the shareholders have caused difficulties in the
corporate governance of Turkcell from time to time. Today’s agreement includes,
subject to closing, a full and global settlement of the disputes and litigations in
Turkcell and Turkcell Holding, dating back to 2005.

Telia Company (Sweden) Invests in New 5g Frequencies in Finland
Telia in Finland has invested in 5G frequencies in the 26 GHz band. The Ministry of Traffic and Communications in Finland has
announced the results of the frequency auction started on June 8, 2020, and Telia in Finland has secured an 800 MHz frequency block
on the 26 GHz band. The new frequencies enable superfast 5G connections with gigabit speeds for both consumer and business
customers. Services requiring critical connections with minimal latency in for example smart traffic and industrial areas, like ports,
power plants and industrial parks can be offered on the frequencies. They help bring capacity to large events and offer an alternative for
superfast broadband connections in urban areas. Telia in Finland launched 5G services on October 9, 2019, on the lower 3.5 GHz
frequency band. The company has rolled out 5G services in over ten Finnish cities. Licenses for the 26 GHz band are valid for thirteen
years starting from July 1, 2020, and the price for the new frequency blocks is EUR 7 million including the administrative fees for the
auction. The payment to Traficom will be made in five installments over a five-year period.

Verizon(USA) to expand Iowa wireless coverage by acquiring Iowa partnership
interests
Verizon has entered into an agreement to acquire the interests in the Iowa RSA
2 Limited Partnership, currently held by Interstate Enterprises, Ltd., Grand
River Communications, Inc. and Cellular 35, Inc. When combined with the
minority interest that Verizon currently holds, this acquisition will give
Verizon 100% ownership of the partnership. The partnership provides wireless
services in the Iowa RSA 2 market, consisting of Clarke, Decatur, Lucas,
Ringgold, Union and Wayne counties, covering a population of approximately
51K. The acquisition is subject to FCC approval and other conditions and is
expected to close in fall of 2020. The partnership that Verizon will be acquiring
is one of two partnerships that do business under the name Chat Mobility. The
other partnership operates in the Iowa RSA 1 market, consisting of Adams,
Fremont, Mills, Montgomery, Page, and Taylor counties. Verizon will be
acquiring only the partnership that does business in the Iowa RSA 2 market.

Nokia announced that its CloudBand-based software products are powering Bharti Airtel’s Voice over LTE network in India. The network supports
over 110 million customers, making it the largest cloud-based VoLTE network in India and the largest Nokia-run VoLTE in the world. The
cloud-based VoLTE deployment allows Airtel to provide its mobile customers faster and more reliable, cost-efficient call connectivity. The
solution, which has been deployed to cover all 22 telecom service areas in India, uses Commercial Off-the-Shelf IT hardware with cloud-based
Virtual Network Functions, which consumes much less power and space compared to the traditional 2G/3G Circuit Switched legacy core. Nokia’s
VoLTE solution enables Airtel to free up spectrum by ramping down its 3G network, allowing the operator to utilize the freed-up spectrum to
deploy 4G/LTE services for better speed and capacity. As part of its cloudification strategy, Airtel will also deploy Nokia’s CloudBand
Infrastructure Software with the aim to create new revenue opportunities for 5G and internet-connected devices. As a vendor-agnostic,
multi-technology and multi-domain platform, CloudBand will enable Airtel to lay the foundation for 5G networks and deliver new digital services
with greater ease, flexibility and agility and ensure a reliable and high-performing network for delivering improved customer experience.

Para Todos, Tarima TV and Hogar de HGTV – to its Spectrum TV lineup. The networks, which offer a range of family-friendly, lifestyle,
home and garden and educational programming in Spanish and English, will be available at no additional cost to subscribers of
Spectrum’s Mi Plan Latino and Latino View TV packages. Kids Central, targeted at children aged 3-7, features parent-approved
entertainment for a diverse audience, and every program is available in both English and Spanish, in high definition. The network
includes programs such as “Bob the Builder,” “Strawberry Shortcake,” “Earth to Luna” and “Darwin and Newts.” During prime time, it
offers shows, series and documentaries filmed in HD. The channel launches on Spectrum TV. Inglés Para Todos is dedicated to teaching
English as a second language and features 24-hours of educational content for all learning levels. The channel also includes a mixture of
situational and entertainment programming in HD to help Spanish speakers learn English, improve their pronunciation and practice

SK Telecom, together with KT and LG Uplus, launched a digital driver’s license service on PASS, an identity authentication app provided by the three mobile
carriers. Developed jointly by the three mobile carriers, the Korean National Police Agency and the Road Traffic Authority, the digital driver’s license marks
the first case where a digital version of an official identification is used as a legally acceptable form of identity verification. Subscribers of PASS can register
their driver’s license on the app through a verification and encryption process. Users can only use one smartphone registered under their own names. To
confirm the authenticity of the information on the driver’s license and block attempts to register counterfeit driver’s license, the three mobile carriers
connected their identity authentication servers to the Korean National Police Agency’s driver’s license system and applied blockchain technology. For
identity verification, the app will show the user’s photo on his/her driver’s license along with a QR code and barcode. To prevent theft or illegal use of identity
information, the codes are automatically refreshed and come with a floating animation layer. The new digital driver’s license service is applied to all stores
of convenient store chains CU and GS25. For instance, the digital driver’s license can be used to verify age at convenient stores for the purchase of
age-limited goods such as alcohol and cigarettes. In addition, from July 2020, the digital driver’s license will be used for reissuance and renewal of a driver’s
license, as well as issuance of a driver’s license in English at 27 Driver’s License Examination Offices located throughout Korea.

on sale, the smartphones undergo 35 different quality controls, are unlocked and are in full working condition. The longer a mobile is used for, the better

customers are already able to sell their old smartphone or have its value credited towards a new device. Alternatively, they can donate their old mobile

service in hard to reach areas. The trials in Dearborn focus on providing coverage to larger, multi-unit dwellings such as apartments

and the location, the 5G signal can be cost-effectively retransmitted to cover additional areas. Repeaters are small, consume less

Verizon Business is expanding its Virtual Network Services portfolio for enterprise customers with the introduction of Cisco’s
5000 Series Enterprise Network Compute System. The Cisco ENCS purpose-built platform will now be included within
Verizon’s catalog of virtual network functions and service chains that are offered to customers. Verizon’s VNS portfolio allows
customers to replace traditional network devices, such as routers, firewalls and switches, with virtual network functions, which
can be managed and orchestrated from a central location. VNFs help expedite customers’ digital network transformation by

Mexican Food which will each deliver 100 meals daily to feed doctors, nurses and staff at The Hospitals of Providence, and
Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista, from June 15 through 20. Each restaurant will follow strict food preparation and safety
guidelines, while providing quick and delicious meals to these frontline healthcare workers. Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista
has treated a large number of COVID-19 patients since the pandemic began. In addition to caring for patients in its intensive care
unit, the hospital also has dedicated treatment spaces in its emergency department and medical-surgical unit to care for
COVID-19 patients.

environment this leadership does not only apply to high-performance broadband coverage, but also to responsible network production. This is an economic
and ecological necessity, especially due to increasing cloudification and increasing data traffic with a growing number and density of active components in
the network. The best network will certainly also be a sustainable network in the future. Therefore, Deutsche Telekom is constantly working on solutions and
use cases that support its climate targets and proof to be cost efficient. One example is a new type of cooling system. Cooling infrastructure in a data center
is one of the largest sources of electricity consumption which also drives up costs. To solve this problem and set an example, Deutsche Telekom is running a
proof of concept (POC) based on water cooling to build a clean and sustainable digital infrastructure. This is in cooperation with Cloud&Heat, a start-up that
provides energy-efficient, scalable and secure tailored infrastructure solutions. They have developed a cooling system with direct hot water cooling and waste

SoftBank Corp. has announced that a paper written by SoftBank's Advanced Technology Promotion Office in the IT Division, in cooperation with
Swedish company Deform Dynamics, was selected for presentation at one of the most prestigious international conferences in the field of computer
graphics, Eurographics and Eurovis 2020, held online from May 25-29, 2020. The paper was presented during the EGEV2020 Modelling Simulation
Visualization session. In the paper, in addition to an algorithm for creating clothing from clothing patterns, a method for fast collision detection between
the clothing mesh* and the mesh of a virtual character, preventing clothing from passing through the surface of the character and allowing for real-time
simulation of the motion of clothes-wearing characters, was described. These features typically involve tremendous computational complexity, but the
paper describes algorithms that can dramatically reduce this complexity. Until now, real-time clothing simulations have used simplified body shapes,
leading to visibly unnatural contact between clothes and the body, making those simulations unusable in the fashion industry. In its current research,
SoftBank and Deform Dynamics succeeded in creating a real-time clothing simulation naturally fitted to bodies using an original collision detection
algorithm. With this algorithm, previously difficult simulations, such as those with layered clothing and clothes made from multiple fabrics, are now
possible.

Bell Let's Talk and the Canadian Mental Health Association announced a $1 million expansion of the mental health supports available remotely for
Canadians with the introduction of the CMHA's BounceBack® program to the Atlantic provinces, Québec, Saskatchewan, Alberta and Yukon, and
further expansion of the program in Manitoba. BounceBack is a free, guided self-help program effective in helping adults and youth 15+ manage low
mood, mild to moderate depression, anxiety, stress or worry. Through telephone coaching, skill-building workbooks and online videos, participants
learn ways to overcome their symptoms and improve their mental well-being now and in future. Based on cognitive behavioural therapy, BounceBack
was designed and launched by CMHA BC Division in 2008 and is currently funded by governments and donors in British Columbia, Ontario and parts
of Manitoba, where it has been shown to reduce depressive and anxiety symptoms by 50% at program completion. The donation from Bell Let's Talk
will allow CMHA to leverage existing expertise to expand the impact of this evidence-based program. Available in English, French, Mandarin,
Cantonese, Punjabi, Spanish, Arabic and Farsi, the program is free to all participants and delivered by coaches who are extensively trained and overseen
by clinical psychologists. Participants can be referred by a primary care provider, such as a family doctor, nurse practitioner or psychiatrist, or choose
to self-refer as long as they're connected with a primary care provider, giving Canadians more choice in accessing support from home.

BT and Sky have agreed a new multi-year partnership that broadens and deepens their strong commercial relationship. Sky Media, the advertising
sales arm of Sky, will now sell advertisements and sponsorship across all BT Sport channels in the UK. Following a competitive tender process,
BT Sport have awarded their advertising sales contract to Sky Media, who will replace Channel 4. The agreement means that Sky Media will
exclusively sell advertisements and sponsorship across both residential and commercial feeds of all BT Sport channels in the UK as well as the BT
Sport app and website. Sky Media currently represents all of Sky’s channels and also sells on behalf of a range of major broadcasters and channels
including Channel 5, Viacom and Discovery. Launched in 2013, BT Sport broadcasts in the UK and Republic of Ireland with around five million

Sky and Discovery have agreed a new long-term, multi-faceted partnership across the UK and Ireland, Germany and Austria. Discovery’s portfolio of
real-life entertainment channels, including Discovery Channel, will continue to be showcased across the Sky platforms in the UK, and on the Sky
Deutschland platforms in Germany and Austria. The Discovery Channel will continue to be available on the NOW TV platform in the UK and Sky
Ticket in Germany. The deal includes linear channel distribution, video on demand, direct to consumer products, and extension of the advertising
relationship. For the first time, the multi-year deal also covers Discovery’s non-linear brands in the UK and Ireland. Sky will be a distribution partner
for Discovery’s existing direct-to-consumer streaming services such as MotorTrend, and new products from the future pipeline of Discovery's
direct-to-consumer offerings. Sky Q and Eurosport will also be working together to bring the best possible experience to customers across the UK and
Ireland for the 2021 Olympics with UHD and HD pop up feeds dedicated to specific sports and events. As part of the expanded deal, Sky Media and
Discovery renewed their advertising sales partnership in the UK and Ireland, whilst creating new opportunities for advertisers in VOD and via AdSmart.

terms for The Weather Channel and 14 broadcast television stations. Entertainment Studios Networks and Comcast today announced they
have entered into a content carriage arrangement that extends and amends terms for The Weather Channel and 14 broadcast television stations.
The deal also includes distribution of Comedy.TV, Recipe.TV and JusticeCentral.TV on X1 and video on demand and TV everywhere rights
for those networks. Comcast will also launch the free ad-supported digital app, Local NOW, on the Xfinity X1 and Flex platforms, and Xfinity
customers who receive The Weather Channel will have access in the coming months to its weloveweather.tv website and app on an
authenticated basis. Entertainment Studios Motion Pictures is a full-service, theatrical motion picture distribution company specializing in
wide release commercial content. ESMP released 2017's highest-grossing independent movie, the shark thriller 47 METERS DOWN, which
grossed over $44.3 million. In 2018, ESMP also released the critically-acclaimed and commercially successful Western HOSTILES, the

Dentsu Inc. announced that it has entered a strategic partnership with the Global Esports Federation to promote the global
development of the growing esports business. The GEF was launched in December 2019, in Singapore, to establish the voice and
authority for the worldwide esports movement. The federation brings together diverse leaders from esports, as well as more
traditional sporting organizations and athletes, with the vision to create a sustainable ecosystem for esports. Tencent is the
Founding Global Partner of the GEF, and from Japan, the Japan esports Union is a member of the federation. The strategic

product integration into the new self-shot HGTV series Design at Your Door. The series will premiere on Thursday, June 11 at 9 p.m.
ET on HGTV and HGTV GO with content shot entirely by homeowners as they virtually connect with top HGTV designers to make
over a room in their homes. Designers featured in the series include David Bromstad, Tiffany Brooks, Tamara Day, Dave and Jenny

series reflects Discovery’s creative way of innovating ad sales partnerships. The partnership will include long-form integration into

DISH continues to lead the U.S. in deployment of the nation's first O-RAN compliant 5G wireless network, the company announced two major
vendor agreements: a large purchase of radio units from Fujitsu and a multi-year agreement with Altiostar to deliver a cloud-native Open vRAN
software solution. DISH will be utilizing Fujitsu's Low Band Tri-Band RU and Mid Band Dual-Band RU, both industry firsts for O-RAN radios,
across the company's spectrum portfolio. In addition to radio units, Fujitsu will provide support through its integrated supply chain to deliver
best-in-class radio and antenna integration. Additionally, Fujitsu will manage DU/RU hardware validation between vendors, including Altiostar
and Mavenir, which are delivering cloud-native 5G radio software to DISH. Leveraging Altiostar's software solution, DISH will be able to
dynamically scale its network depending on the type of applications and services being deployed. The openness, modularity, agility and scalability
provided by Altiostar will enable DISH to quickly deploy new 5G services for consumers and businesses. DISH Network Corporation is a

This deal marks a significant milestone for the Axiata Group. With the investment, Great Eastern takes a 21.875% stake in the holding company for Axiata Digital’s DFS business, with Axiata Digital Services SdnBhd holding the balance. With a 58% overall increase in demand during COVID-19 and text interactions up 62%, Kids Help Phone expects to make 3 million connections with young people this year, compared to 1.9 million in 2019. The post-money enterprise valuation of Nxtra is approximately US$1.2 billion and Carlyle will hold a stake of approximately 25% in the business upon completion of the transaction, with Airtel continuing to hold the remaining stake of approximately 75%. The transaction is subject to the necessary regulatory approvals, including approval from the Competition Commission of India. Headquartered in New Delhi, Nxtra from Airtel offers secure data centre services to leading Indian and global enterprises, hyperscalers, start-ups, SMEs and governments. Nxtra’s nation-wide portfolio of 10 large data centres and more than 120 edge data centres provides customers with co-location services, cloud infrastructure, managed hosting, data backup, disaster recovery, and remote infrastructure management. India is witnessing a considerable surge in demand for secure data centres as businesses undertake digital transformation and consumer demand for digital services continues to increase. Mumbai based Lattu Kids specializes in digital learning tools for children. Its highly popular Lattu Kids app focuses on improving English vocabulary, English reading and Maths skills for children under the age of 10 years through entertaining, fun learning animated videos and games. At over 500 mn, India has the second largest number of internet users in the world, driven by affordable smartphones and the lowest 4G data tariffs globally. This deep penetration of internet has also led to wide adoption of online learning tools. The COVID-19 pandemic and closure of schools has further accelerated the adoption of virtual classrooms and digitally enabled learning. In the paper, in addition to an algorithm for creating clothing from clothing patterns, a method for fast collision detection between the clothing mesh* and the mesh of a virtual character, preventing clothing from passing through the surface of the character and allowing for real-time simulation of the motion of clothes-wearing characters, was described. These features typically involve tremendous computational complexity, but the paper describes algorithms that can dramatically reduce this complexity. Until now, real-time clothing simulations have used simplified body shapes, leading to visibly unnatural contact between clothes and the body, making those simulations unusable in the fashion industry.
