Bridgestone Corporation (Bridgestone) announced the development of a technology capable of estimating a wheel axle load and tire
wear condition by using newly developed sensors attached inside tires that measure the change in strain that occurs when a tire makes
contact with the road while in motion. This technology is unique to Bridgestone and the first of its kind in the world. The Smart Strain
Sensor technology developed by Bridgestone incorporates next-generation Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. In addition to tracking
tire inflation pressure and temperature, the Smart Strain Sensor is able to measure the dynamic change in strain that occurs when a tire
is in use. A proprietary algorithm is applied to convert data gathered by the Smart Strain Sensor into tire load and wear information,
which is then collected and sent to the cloud. Bridgestone's previously released sensing technology performs measurements based on
accelerometer sensors, which require a certain amount of speed to acquire data. The new Smart Strain Sensor technology, however,
measures strain, which is independent to speed. As such, the new technology is able to acquire highly reliable data even at low speeds.
This is an important differentiator, as autonomous vehicles are expected to be operated at low speeds for enhanced safety. Furthermore,
the proprietary algorithm contributes to substantial improvements in the battery lifespan of the Smart Strain Sensor, which is critically
important for practical implementation.

global design headquarters. The new system, introduced to the Namyang Research and Development Center in South Korea,

and Kia displayed how new VR technology will be utilized by both brands in future. The technology uses several development
applications, enabling teams of designers and engineers to carry out vehicle design quality assessments and development verification
processes. The technology is part of a KRW 15 billion (US $12.8 million) investment in the Namyang Research and Development
Center announced by Hyundai and Kia in March 2019. Through the complete implementation of the virtual development processes
throughout R&D and pre-production stages, Hyundai and Kia anticipates a 20% reduction in vehicle development times and a 15%
reduction in annual development costs. In addition to reducing development costs, these new virtual technologies are expected to
increase profitability and trigger a cycle of continuously increasing R&D investment for Hyundai and Kia. VR headsets allow the
brands’ vehicle designers and engineers to virtually enter developmental simulations, with 36 motion tracking sensors detecting and
tracking the locations and movement of all users, enabling each to participate accurately in real time. The new VR design evaluation

BYD has now sold more than one thousand electric buses in Latin America, becoming a leader in the promotion
and implementation of electrified public transportation across the region. With a total of 1,035 buses sold to date,
the company covers 71% of the local pure electric bus market, cutting 222 tons of CO2 emissions – with an
average daily operation of 200 km per bus - which is the equivalent to planting 18,520 trees. Chile leads the
ranking with 285 electric buses, the largest fleet on the continent. The operation of the first 100 BYD electric
buses began on December 15, 2018, by Enel and Metbus. After one year, the fleet has traveled a total of 4.5
million kilometers since its deployment, serving more than 13 million users and made 160 thousand trips, saving
21 tons of CO2 emissions. This experience has sought to be replicated in other parts of Latin America. Only in
2019, in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador, rolled out its first fleet of 20 BYD electric buses; in Mendoza, Argentina,
a fleet of 16 BYD buses was launched, while BYD also delivered 15 buses in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In Colombia, the
company's 64 electric buses began operations, with BYD also winning the tender for 379 electric buses, which
will start operations in Bogotá's public transit system next year.

Mercedes-Benz and Bosch have joined forces in Brazil to build a state-of-the-art Vehicle Test Center. In addition to trucks
and buses, it will also be possible to test passenger cars, light commercial vehicles and motorcycles in the future. One
ground-breaking aspect of the joint project: the new facility is to be made available to other manufacturers of vehicles,
systems and vehicle components. The Vehicle Test Center is to be built on the existing Mercedes-Benz testing grounds in
Iracemápolis (State of São Paulo). Initial construction work on the new test centre will begin in the first half of 2020. The
start of operations is scheduled for 2021. Together, Mercedes-Benz and Bosch will invest 70 million Brazilian Real (around
15 million Euro) in the centre. The new Vehicle Test Center will focus on testing for the development of systems for vehicle
safety and suspension control as well as systems for improved energy efficiency and for (semi-)automated driving. The
new Test Center includes five different areas with a total ground surface of 400,000 square metres. As part of the
construction project, the number of test tracks in Iracemápolis will be increased from the present 16 to 21 and additional
workshop boxes and office space will also be created.

The global headquarters of the new joint venture has been set in Hangzhou Bay, Ningbo with operational sales functions

two companies are creating the technology to realize resilient security solutions for connected cars. Today, connected cars are becoming
increasingly popular and sophisticated. In this evolution, novel automotive technologies and solutions continuously appear utilizing
ICT technology. Concurrently, cyberattacks are growing more sophisticated and stealthy. Thus, cybersecurity in connected car is
paramount. They need security technology that can swiftly detect and analyze cyberattacks and then seamlessly provide the appropriate
support according to the situation. Since 2017, DENSO and NTT Com have been developing V-SOC technology to detect cyberattacks
and identify the affected area by the cyberattacks based on analysis of data, which are output from a vehicle’s security systems. In this
research, the two companies have studied how to improve the safety and availability of connected cars and enable quick security
responses by using V-SOC technology that can provide appropriate support as the situation demands. The two companies will start to
validate V-SOC technology in a test environment to realize resilient security solution for connected cars. Different types of cyberattacks

Uber and Hyundai Motor Company have announced a new partnership to develop Uber Air Taxis for a future aerial ride share
network and unveiled a new full-scale aircraft concept at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Hyundai is the first automotive
company to join the Uber Elevate initiative, bringing automotive-scale manufacturing capability and a track record of
mass-producing electric vehicles. The air vehicle concept Hyundai released today was created in part through Uber’s open design
process, a NASA-inspired approach that jump-starts innovation by publicly releasing vehicle design concepts so any company can
use them to innovate their air taxi models and engineering technologies. In this partnership, Hyundai will produce and deploy the
air vehicles, and Uber will provide airspace support services, connections to ground transportation, and customer interfaces through
an aerial ride share network. Both parties are collaborating on infrastructure concepts to support take-off and landing for this new

electric delivery droid prototype, Valeo eDeliver4U, at CES 2020 in Las Vegas. Valeo developed the technology in partnership with Meituan
Dianping, China’s leading e-commerce platform for services, which operates popular food delivery service Meituan Waimai. The two groups signed a
strategic cooperation agreement at last year’s CES to develop a last-mile autonomous delivery solution. At 2.80m long, 1.20m wide and 1.70m tall,
the droid can deliver up to 17 meals per trip, autonomously negotiating dense and complex urban environments at about 12 km/h without generating
any pollutant emissions. With a range of around 100km, this prototype gives us a glimpse of what home delivery could look like in the near future,
especially in the ever‑growing number of zero-emissions zones that are being created around the world. Meituan Dianping’s connected delivery
locker allows for safe delivery to the end customer, who can book through a smartphone application. The droid’s autonomy and electric power are
delivered by Valeo technologies that are already series produced and aligned with automotive industry standards, thereby guaranteeing a high-level of
safety. The droid operates autonomously using perception systems including algorithms and sensors. It is equipped with four Valeo SCALA® laser
scanners (the only automotive LiDAR already fitted to vehicles in series production), a front camera, four fisheye cameras, four radar devices and
twelve ultrasonic sensors, coupled with software and artificial intelligence. The electrified chassis features a Valeo 48V motor and a Valeo 48V

to pick up and drop off a select group of passengers via its self-driving vehicles at the McCarran International
Airport in Las Vegas. McCarran joins the list of over 3,400 popular destinations that Aptiv’s self-driving vehicles
currently service in Las Vegas, including restaurants, hotels, entertainment venues and other high-traffic locations,
like the Las Vegas Convention Center. This first-of-its-kind airport access to autonomous vehicles will aid in the
company’s development of a production-ready Level 4 autonomous driving platform in 2022. It will also help
Aptiv and McCarran learn more about robotaxi utilization and deployment, to optimize efficient ground

Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. is pleased to announce that we have recently established a natural rubber procurement subsidiary in Singapore, the
world's largest natural rubber trading hub, with the aim of ensuring a more stable supply of high-quality natural rubber to meet the needs of the
Sumitomo Rubber Group. Up until now, the Natural Rubber Division of our tire sales subsidiary in Singapore (SUMITOMO RUBBER ASIA
(TYRE) PTE. LTD.) has handled the procurement of natural rubber for our group. When it begins operations in April of this year, this newly
established subsidiary will take over these procurement activities as well as various other outward-looking efforts related to natural rubber and its
procurement. In light of following factors, the Sumitomo Rubber Group has determined that, in order to reliably procure high-quality natural rubber,
there is a strong need for a procurement system spearheaded by a locally situated organization that is responsible for and capable of handling both
procurement activities and outward-looking efforts such as GPSNR. In spite of rising global consumption of natural rubber in recent years, output is
anticipated to decline in the major natural rubber production centers of Asia in the near future. As such, there is now a growing need for a global
approach to natural rubber procurement. At the same time, when it comes to securing a stable supply of high-quality natural rubber, the business
environment is currently undergoing a series of major changes that pose various challenges, as mergers and market withdrawals within the natural
rubber industry create greater risks of monopolies, price fluctuations and other potential issues in various markets.

Bridgestone (Japan) Wins Design Rights Infringement Lawsuit in China

Bridgestone Corporation (Bridgestone) announced that it received a favorable ruling in its design right infringement lawsuit
against Chinese tire manufacturers Shandong Huasheng Rubber Co., Ltd. (Huasheng) and Shandong Hongsheng Rubber
Co., Ltd. (Hongsheng), in the Shanghai Intellectual Property Court. In January 2017, Bridgestone filed the lawsuit claiming
that tire manufacturing and sales activities conducted by Huasheng and Hongsheng utilized the tread pattern of the
Bridgestone BLIZZAK™ DM-V1 tire for 4×4 sport utility vehicles, and that these activities were therefore in violation of
the company's design rights. In October 2019, the Shanghai Intellectual Property Court ruled in favor of Bridgestone.
Huasheng and Hongsheng were ordered to pay damages to the company in an amount of roughly 900,000 Chinese yuan
(approximately 13.5 million Japanese yen). Bridgestone takes seriously any unauthorized use or infringement of its patents,
design rights, trademarks, or any other intellectual property. With this level of vigilance, Bridgestone is prioritizing the
safety and reliability associated with its products and maintaining and enhancing its hard-earned brand value.
