The human eye functions to perceive visible light and maintain balance and circadian rhythms. It regulates the amount of light entering through the pupil and forms an image on the retina. The cornea and lens help focus light onto the light-sensitive retina. A camera is an optical device that takes pictures using a light-sealed box with an aperture to allow light through to form 2D or 3D images on a light-sensitive surface. The key components of both the eye and camera are structures that regulate light entry and focus it to form an image.
