CII is very enthused by the Government’s plan in taking up Labour Law Reforms as one of the key focus areas as part of its growth agenda. We believe that the speed with which the new Government has initiated reform process in the labour law space will have a rippling effect on the twin objective of employability and job creation.
CII is a strong votary of key labour law reforms. CII believes that only a flexible, competitive and efficient labour law can catalyze investment, growth and employment. It is important that apart from reforms in key sectors a healthy business climate is created. The new government has already initiated these steps very aggressively and we can safely say that these processes will generate its impact very soon.
The September issue of Policy Watch takes an in-depth look at the Labour Law Reforms and has outlined some specific recommendations, which will have a big impact on the economy especially the manufacturing sector and will help in realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of “Make-in-India”.
In this presentation, we will discuss about the legalities governing recruitment and selection in India. We will also talk about various acts related to remuneration and employee insurance in india.

Watch our free one-hour webinar reviewing the rules for the new Individual Coverage HRA and the new Excepted Benefit HRA (ICHRA and EBHRA).
In June 2019, Treasury, DOL and HHS released final regulations that are effective for plan years beginning on or after January 1, 2020. These regulations created two new HRAs, Individual Coverage HRAs (ICHRA) and Excepted Benefit HRAs (EBHRA).
These new HRAs will be subject to ERISA and COBRA, but will not be subject to the nondiscrimination rules under Code Section 105(h). Any employer can offer these new HRAs to their employees. They can be offered to common law employees, but cannot be offered to self-employed individuals, partners and more than 2% S-Corporation shareholders.
Facilitated by ERISA attorney Larry Grudzien, and moderated by Chief Marketing Officer Julia Goebel, this webinar will cover the following:
-Why are these new HRAs so important?
-Which employees can be included or excluded
-What documentation is needed to be completed by employers to adopt them
-What reporting and disclosure requirements must be met
-What types of expenses can be reimbursed
-The pros and cons of establishing and participating in these new HRAs for employers

Join our risk advisors in a practical discussion on how to avoid the pitfalls employers encounter when managing employee absences. Attendees will learn how to apply best practices for leave management to actively control costs and minimize liability.
This presentation addresses employee benefit plan exposure arising from employer use of a contingent workforce. Included is a discussion of employer liability arising from use of independent contractors to avoid or minimize ACA's "play or pay" coverage requirements.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
