Warby Parker disrupted the eyewear industry by offering affordable, high-quality glasses through an online platform. Traditional retailers marked up prices significantly, limiting selection and requiring multiple store visits. Frustrated by these issues, Warby Parker simplified the purchasing process by allowing customers to "try before you buy" and eliminating brick-and-mortar stores, improving accessibility. By reimagining distribution and customer interactions, businesses can challenge industry norms.

1. Hp Cisco Essay
What are the challenges facing Jim Heal and Mike Thomas? Jim Heal of Hewlett–Packard, Inc (HP)
and Mike Thomas of Cisco Systems, Inc (Cisco) were both leaders of strategic alliance management
teams that were formed in early 1997. Both teams were created to help facilitate the strategic
alliance that was formed between HP and Cisco. As with all alliances, a wide variety of issues and
challenges emerged that had be to be resolved and it was the purpose of the alliance teams to solve
such issues. Beginning in February 2002, a formal contract to expand the HP and Cisco alliance was
being negotiated and it was during this time that several important challenges emerged that would
require the full attention of Mr. Heal and Mr. Thomas. One ... Show more content on

Therefore Mr. Heal and Mr. Thomas will need to develop a joint business plan whereby both firms
can leverage the alliance without impeding on creativity, future development, or current product
offerings. A third challenge facing Mr. Heal and Mr. Thomas is the issue of a sales force that is
properly setup to accommodate the strategic alliance. On page six of the case, we learn that the HP–
Microsoft and IBM–Cisco alliances both utilized dedicated sales staff. We also learn that in Europe,
"HP used a specialized, dedicated sales force for selling HP services bundled with Cisco products."
(Page 6) In fact, Elias Stephan, who was then HP services group's global alliance director, noted that
"In Europe, the relationship with the field is much better." (Page 6) If both HP and Cisco were used
to utilizing dedicated sales staff with strategic alliances, what incentive was there for both firms to
break the trend when dealing with an HP–Cisco alliance? Page eight of the case begins to outline
some of the challenges that the HP–Cisco alliance had already faced concerning the sale of joint
products. For example, we learn that at HP, Cisco products did not count towards a sales
representative's quota and this resulted in a decline in sales of Cisco equipment by HP sales
representatives. Further, if HP or Cisco sales staff had to master not only their parent company

5. Organizational Management And Leadership Essay examples
In this paper I will discuss the management and leadership roles and responsibilities in relation to
Total Quality Management. Within the past two decades, total quality management represents one of
the most profound changes in the way companies are now being managed. According to Biech
(1994), "Quality improvement (TQM) is a customer–focused, quality–centered, fact–based, team
driven, senior management–led process to achieve an organizations strategic imperative through
continuous process improvement" (pp. 1–2). The benefits associated with TQM includes higher

During the early 1950's, Deming was invited to Japan to aide in he recovery of Japan's economy.
Going through a period of economic hardship and declines, the Japanese Union of Scientists and
Engineers (JUSE) called on Deming's expertise. In 1980, Dr. Deming introduced 14 key factors
behind this idea of quality management. Gitlow (1994) notes the following as 14 points discussed in
Deming's work, "Out of the Crisis". (see Appendix 1). After Deming's success with his Japanese
counter partners, many North American manufacturers began to focus in on the Japanese strategies.
The Japanese not only adopted Deming's ideas for manufacturing, but also expanded them to
include administrative and service industries. The implementation of quality concepts began to
flourish along with the techniques that focused in on employee motivation, measurement, and
rewards (Hick, 1998). During the eighties, quality improvement had yet again changed names and
was referred to as Total Quality Management (TQM). Hick (1998) also explains that the continuous
improvement process should "be driven from the top, but implemented from the bottom" (p.2). Next

Engineering Design Process Flight decks on planes are a complex series of buttons, switches, knobs
and lights. But pilots use each of these controls to operate a different piece of equipment and
navigate the plane safely. How do engineers design the flight deck so it works most efficiently for a
pilot? Its questions like that which must be asked and successfully answered for a piece of
equipment to be functional and successful in a plane. Kirschen Seah is a systems engineer for a
commercial avionics electronics company. She works closely with other engineers in her company,

The designer starts making a rough model by using simple things like clay and ping–pong balls.
Keeping the materials and design simple and flexible allows the designer to easily experiment with
and change the prototype. A prototype is the first working draft of a piece of equipment. Once the
designer is satisfied with the shape, they make a drawing of the controller on a computer. Using the
computer allows the team to change the components shape and move the knobs and switches around
easily. Once they have an initial
concept drawn up for the controller, they can "print" a three–dimensional copy of the controller
using a special device called a stereolithography printer. This lets them handle the controller and
check out the feel and position of the buttons, knobs and trackball. If they want to change their
position it is still easy to do at this phase. If this all goes well, they are ready for testing. Kirschen
helps with the projects by providing hardware and software, which simulate an aircraft flight deck.
This mockup allows designers to test out new designs. Here designers can evaluate their projects in
a dynamic flight simulation and make sure they work correctly and are easy for the pilots to use.
Once the component has successfully passed on the requirements it is ready for delivery to the

Bennett (1996) described that customer service seeks to establish long term, committed, trusting and
cooperative relationship with customers, characterized by openness, genuine concern for the
delivery of high quality services, responsiveness to customer suggestions, fair dealings and
willingness to sacrifice short term advantage for long term gains. Schneider and Bowen (1999)
advocated that service business can retain customers and achieve profitability by building reciprocal
relationships founded on safeguarding and affirming customer security, fairness and self esteem. It
requires that companies view customers as people first and consumers second. Trust, commitment,
ethical practices, fulfillment of promises, mutual exchange, emotional bonding, personalization and
customer orientation have been reported to be the key elements in the relationship building process
(Levitt,1986; Gronroos, 1994; Morgan,1994; Gummesson,1994; Bejou et al,1998 ).
Customer service refers to all business activities directed towards initiating, establishing,
maintaining, and developing successful long–term relational exchanges (Heide, 1994; Reinartz &
Kumar, 2003). One of the results of Customer service is the promotion of customer loyalty (Evans
& Laskin, 1994), which is considered to be a relational phenomenon, (Chow & Holden, 1997;

A potential problem with this strategy is with a large, non targeted marketing push, 75% of audience
the company would be targeting is not purchasing paint. Based on the company's standard of
recovering the costs within a year, if the company doubles its advertising costs, sales should show a
significant increase and there is no guarantee of this.
Reduce price by 20%
By reducing the price, Jones Blair will be more competitive with other brands. Right now, Jones
Blair is prices significantly higher than all other brands and when a consumer sees the brands side
by side at a store, they may not realize the higher quality of Jones Blair paint, just the higher price
and immediately select against.
A major issue is since reducing the price 20% reduces the profit margin to 15%, to maintain the
19. same profit while reducing the price, the sales must be $28 million for this year. This is an increase
of 233% in one year to justify reducing the price this much. This is a highly unlikely target.
Another potential problem is Jones Blair could lose the consumer's perception of the company being
high quality, high customer focused. Jones Blair has continually put focus on being the leader in
quality and customer satisfaction and if the company's prices are the same as all the other brands,
what makes Jones Blair stand out?

23. Salesforce.com : Evangelist Of No Software
Salesforce.com – Evangelist of NO SOFTWARE
"History", "Current Situation" and "Global footprint": Salesforce.com –
CEO Marc Benioff founded Salesforce.com. Originally Salesforce.com's goal was to provide
customer relationship management (CRM) software that was delivered over the Internet (cloud
computing), and clients would no longer need to purchase servers, network infrastructure, install
software. All they would need is an internet connection in a web browser. Back in 1999 when
Salesforce.com was founded, it was a pretty radical departure from the traditional client –server
model. Especially from business software to delivery model, commonly known as software services
and part of cloud computing, for which Salesforce is widely recognized as an Industry leader.
Salesforce started as a CRM company and evolved into much more over time. A CRM system is
used to manage organizations interactions like phone calls, emails, meetings and even social media,
both with customers and prospects. The focus of these interactions often includes, but is not limited
to sales, marketing, and support. When a sales rep closes a deal or a support agent receives a call,
these are the types of activities that you would expect to record in CRM software. The goals of
CRM implementations may vary depending on the organizations, but there are few common themes;
increased sales, increased communication, especially among different departments, decrease
operating costs and streamlining business

Varying Attributes of Sales Representative Success
Many studies have been conducted to ascertain what exactly makes a successful sales representative.
To do that, one has to find out exactly what measurable variables can be studied and tested; that may
have an impact on the individual sales–person. Lounsbury, Foster, Levy, and Gibson (2014)
performed a study that focused on intrinsic personality traits, and their effect on said sales success.
Continued, Owens et al (2013) backs up intrinsic trait research by establishing data that agrees with
Lounsbury's claims on emotional traits. On the other hand, Agnihotri, Krush, and Singh (2012)
performed a study that found guilt, and empathy, having strong correlational success with sales. It is
the objective of this paper to answer the questions such as what impact do intrinsic personality
factors, extrinsic factors, and gender rolls have on sales success?
Literature Review
In Lounsbury et al (2014), a study was performed to determine exactly which intrinsic qualities have
the biggest effect on successful sales outcome. A total of 978 sales managers were involved in this
survey, across the United States. The method in which they obtained data was by having their
participants complete an online survey of Resource Associates Personal Style Inventory, as well as

Some of these can be listed as follows:
Information integration: ERP have the ability to update information between business functions
and components that are related. For example: a customer XYZ places an order. As soon as the order
is placed it triggers production, planning, inventory and other processes. After all these processes get
over, the details regarding product delivery date are given to the user. Thus, the user gets
instantaneous information because of integration of information.
Reduction of lead time: The time taken to deliver an order minus the time at which order was
placed is known as the lead time. Because of the efficient inventory management systems that
anticipate demand ahead of the orders that are placed, lead time has decreased considerably.
They improve customer satisfaction by on–time delivery, shorter delivery times.
They reduce inventory costs as a result of planning and integration of all business processes.

reps I've spoken with across the country? If this is truly the company 's stance on FLEX sales in AE
territories, every sales rep in the company needs to be treated the same way. I know of sales reps

43. An Assessment Of The Business
An assessment of the business' current situation and goals is critical. The types of legal and business
issues involved in deciding whether to do business internationally include: What product or service
is the business planning to export or import? What is the desired level of control over overseas
operations? How mature is the business and how much experience does it have working
internationally? How much risk is the business willing and able to bear? How much capital is
available to invest? How does international expansion fit with the company's long–term goals and
strategy? If international expansion appears feasible and profitable, what factors influence the
choice of where to expand? This rests largely on analysis of the economic, political, cultural and
even historic context of the relevant country. A business considering international expansion must
investigate, for example, currency exchange rates and volatility; economic climate; political
stability; shipping costs to, from and within the foreign region; labor laws and the employment
market; and potential language barriers. Is the United States a party to a tax treaty with the other
country and what are the tax implications of international expansion? The United States has tax
treaties with several countries. Generally, these provide tax credits for taxes paid to a foreign
government. Without the benefit of such a provision, taxes owed would be much higher. Does the

Whether it is a product design issue, a pricing concern, or an advertising problem, these issues need
to be attended to and answered quickly with a definite answer; there is no room for people who
cannot commit to a decision. Another essential quality to have is creativity. The success of a product
relies heavily on how exciting of an idea you can create and how that can appeal to your target
market. Marketing is one of the most competitive fields in the industry, diversifying your product
from others is key so you need to have that competitive nature with you at all times. As for skills, a
marketing employee typically needs to be excelled in computer skills. Collecting data, analyzing
data, and compiling reports are all part of the job and you need to know how to successfully put this
info into computer documents that are easy to read and understand. Organizational skills are also a
very important quality to have because you often need to manage multiple projects and matters at
the same time. Certain strengths to posses in the marketing field are written and oral communication
skills and the ability to work with a team. Marketing teams often get together in groups to work on a

Computer aided design (CAD) is used in design offices around the world because speed and

concept that has improved the speed that designers produce a product. Concurrent Design
Engineering is a way to integrate all the processes in design back to a three–dimensional geometric
data base or a CAD model. All the steps in designing a product have an opportunity to contribute to

Concurrent design engineering has replaced the older step by step or "waterfall model," this was an
extremely linear and straight foreword approach. However, the concurrent approach is much more
free flowing and integrated. CAD can be introduced very early in the process of product design. As
soon as the product need is identified and the first concept sketches are narrowed down, the ideas
can be put into CAD to show the client and the rest of the design team what is happening. There are
people on the within the process who can not translate a two–dimensional sketch or drafting as
three–dimensional object. Therefore, the introduction of the concept in its simplest form at the
beginning of the process without much detail can inform the rest of the team of what they have to
work with. The ability to transfer information digitally is much more effective and time efficient
than having to do everything analog. Analog versus digital rendering is a question that various
people have a quandary with. Both analog and digital rendering have their strong points but the
digital side is slowly running out of weak points. Analog methods have also had their flaws in
translating into a final product. In Product Design and Manufacturing by A. K. Chitale, R. C. Gupta

Nordstrom has come a long way since its humble beginnings as a shoe retailer in the early part of
the 20th century. Now with the 4th generation of Nordstroms at the helm, it has positioned itself for
the future with its customer–centric focus and rich history of entrepreneurial spirit. This analysis
will focus on the transformation of their core operations and the potential for future strategic
movement in the world of retail sales.
Corporate strategic and organizational practices From the early stages as a wholly owned family
business, Nordstrom was characterized by its ability to provide the highest quality and largest
selection of products at very competitive prices. One of the most distinctive corporate traits that

The customer had always been the most important aspect of the Nordstrom business model and
success as an organization. Their reputation had been built upon providing exceptional customer
service; however, they were failing to effectively meet the needs of their core customer base on a
consistent basis. Nordstrom initially lacked the focused determination on efficient execution that
was required to maintain a strong relationship with their customers, yet they were able to able to
turn things around by going back to the basics. Nordstrom can sustain these competitive advantages
by continuing to nurture and grow the entrepreneurial instinct within their salespeople and further
build on their strong customer relationship initiatives. In the highly competitive retail marketplace,
where products are homogeneous and low cost pricing strategies limit profitability, firms need to
build their organizations around more intangible aspects that are hard to duplicate and difficult to
imitate. For Nordstrom, their intangible assets of their entrepreneurial spirit that is infused
throughout their selling process and their unwavering dedication to their customer will continue to
set them apart as a niche clothing and fashion retailer.
Factors that led to the turnaround
Once the shareholders and Wall Street analysts started seeing Nordstrom as too complex and not
scalable, they began to lose confidence in the company. By

80. My Reflection Of Working On The Rifsk
Working on the RiFSK has been a journey. Among tight deadlines, an onslaught of constructive
criticism, and extensive experimentation, the class was mentally straining, yet fulfilling. I genuinely
feel that the class came together to create something worthwhile, and I am lucky to have made my
own contributions to our project. First and foremost, my responsibility lied with the Coordination
and Website group. Distributing tasks among the whole class was essential to both distributing the
workload and having a thorough understanding of what our problem is. The Coordination and
website group took the responsibility of facilitating efforts and conversations among all of the
different groups. Facilitating efficient conversation and work was our responsibility during class
time. When Professor Cumberbatch had nothing planned, we always had an agenda of matters that
needed to be discussed as a full group. Oftentimes, I was the one timing each segment of our time in
order to allocate adequate discussion time for different material. Although I would not always be
able to keep us exactly on schedule, I was usually the person who spoke up to move on to the next
topic. Making sure that everyone worked efficiently and made steady progress was also our
responsibility. During this class, this entailed visiting different groups and asking about what they
were doing and what their goals were. This would regularly lead into a short discussion on how they
can accomplish their goals, so I

With the advances made in telecommunication it is far better today to avoid cold calling on
prospective clients. Advance knowledge about a company can be found from lists offered at a
reasonable price by database companies such as Dunn & Bradstreet or Compass Business
Directories. Information such as the company directors names, the number of employees, phone
numbers and email addresses make it easy to make the initial contact with the right person.
The approach is best made via an appointment made by the salesperson or a telesales support
person. It is important that the correct person in an organisation is identified, because an
appointment made with anyone other than the decision maker will prove in most cases to be a waste

1. Provide a brief discussion of the main points in this article
Human factors or ergonomics is beneficial when it is incorporated in the early stages of an
engineering design process because it focuses on improving worker efficiency which leads to a
better engineering design and business performance. HF specialists must try to understand the
manufacturing/industry process, engineering production design issues and corporate strategies so
they can effectively link them with human factors and work with engineers to adapt tools and
techniques to include human factors. By conducting a planned research, the team was able to: a)

Information processing approach characterizes thinking as the environment providing an input of
data. The information can be stored, retrieved and transformed by our senses using mental programs
with the results being behavioral responses.
The conception of the human as an information processing system is invaluable for the investigation
of human factors issues because it meets the requirement of allowing human machine performance
to be analyzed in terms of the same basic functions.
The human factors specialists can input bring this valuable knowledge of information processing
approach in the design of assembly line design because efficient assembly line design not only
requires efficient machinery but also efficient human operators for overall production and quality.

started losing business because of there is no common strategic level business communications
between directors and managing directors within organisation. The integrations of departments are
causing further problems, because some employees are benefiting more than others are. Therefore, it
is easy to envisage the conflict of interest from different individuals, which has created three sub–

Pluto changed in size, but did not equally change with structure, strategy, technology and
environment. Furthermore, according to Martin Corbett, Lawrence and Lorsch (1967) argued that,
only parts of the organisation deal with parts of the environment; and, more turbulent, complex and
diverse the external environment facing organisation, the greater the degree of differentiation among
its sub–parts [6]. It is obvious that Tim, John, and Matthew from their respective departments will
hold different attitudes and behave differently in terms of their goal perspective, period and
interpersonal orientation. Different interests and different point of views also mean that they will
often find it difficult to see the things same way or to agree on integrated plan of action. Matthew
only recruits business university graduates, whereas others do not. According to Martin Corbett,
Sherif M. and Sherif C. (1950) started that levels of conflict between groups are largely a result of
organisational structure. However, Crozier (1964) and Hickson et al., (1971) stated that revealed that
sources of power are often hidden in the design of the organisation its structure and its culture [7].
Veronica did not notice the hidden power within groups and did not realise the consequences of the
power. The presence of abuse of technology has taken a dominant position across Pluto; marketing

Introduction We conducted our design review on Friday, May 13, 2016 with our professors and the
other teams from our DTC section in Room G205 of the Ford Motor Company Engineering Design
Center at 2:30 P.M. We presented the problem we were tasked with solving, our client's and user's
needs, and our mock–up design, the "Triple Threat". The Triple Threat is a system that places a
structure that holds three rolls of netting, one on the top and one along each side, next to a row of up
20 vehicles (see figure 32, and figure 33 on the following page). The netting is then deployed by
rolling a structure that is attached to the ends of the netting over the row of vehicles. In addition to
asking for general feedback, we asked those in attendance to address the issues of the potential
stability of our product along with the problem of hailstones piling atop the netting. Figure 32:

Breaking the authority of knowledge
I sighed comfortably seeing the standard lecture setting in ENGI120 classroom with forty to fifty
white chairs and tables facing front and PowerPoint of blue background and white characters
projected on the screen: it looked just like the classes I had in Chinese high school. I confidently sat
in the front row, laid my notebook on the desk, turned to a new page and wrote in the first line:
"August 26th, 2017, ENGI120 first class". Sitting on the chair with my back up straight, I waited for
a traditional lecture on the engineering design process. Dr. Wettergreen, who later became one of the
most important mentors I have ever had, was already standing in front of the podium, his white shirt

Did that PowerPoint contain all his notes? He hasn't defined those terms yet, then how should I learn
those terms? I stared at the blank spaces on my notebook and anxiously span my pen. Not until a
student trying to squeeze through behind my chair whispered "excuse me" was I pulled back to the
classroom. I stuffed my notebook into my bag and hurried to the workspace with the class.
There were several worktables in the space, with numerous engineering tools that I could not name
crammed into boxes and placed on the surface. I chose the table where the task was designing a bike
camera. Sitting down, I looked at my teammates awkwardly, not knowing where to start, and they
looked back with the same embarrassment.
"Start by communicating what your goal for this project is and building prototypes with your ideas."
Dr. Wettergreen encouraged in a friendly voice. He was moving through the students, almost hidden
by some tall classmates.
In the next few weeks, we followed the engineering design process, setting criteria for our project,
brainstorming the design and building a prototype with Dr. Wettergreen by our side. During device
testing, I was confused about how to quantitively examine the durability of our device. I raised my
hand and Dr. Wettergreen came to our table, avoiding the scattered cupboard and planks of wood on
the floor on his way.

132. An Autonomous Vehicle Must Be Built Using One Sphero As...
The Problem An autonomous vehicle must be built using one Sphero as the driving mechanism. The
vehicle must complete a course carrying the maximum mass possible at the fastest speed. These
factors will define the vehicle's efficiency. This vehicle can be built out of any materials except
premade kits, chemicals, or explosives.
The Engineering Design Process When designing a robot or vehicle, the process used to build the
device is called the Engineering Design Process. This process begins with identifying the problem.
Once the problem has been identified, research will take place. During research, constraints must be
taken into account and ways to work around these discovered. Also how the Sphero functions should
be taken into account. Once research is complete and some background knowledge has been
attained, brainstorming can begin. This is when robot designs can be sketched out and discussed.
Once all the designs are evaluated, the best solution will be the first to be prototyped. Once in the
prototyping phase, the robot will be built and then tested. The testing phase allows the robot's
functions to be evaluated on how well they meet the criteria. At this point, the robot will either be
presented as a solution, or the problem will be reviewed and a new robot built.
Research
During research, the team will identify constraining factors within the problem, as well as factors
that will affect the sphero's capabilities. Team members now had to research ways to

The percentage of active accounts per rep gives you an idea of how effective every salesperson is at
covering their given territory and the accounts assigned. Some reps performed better on smaller
territories while others can handle a larger mixture of accounts. Another criteria to consider when
deciding to redeploy is the total active accounts per sales rep. At least two of the youngest sales reps
sold more than half of the season reps. While it is true that their territories are smaller, the number of
active accounts in comparison to the other reps is equal to or higher. This provide insight to their

interview the project manager before the observation period started.
3.1: The Ethics codes of design a bridge:
We have here many points around Ethics codes of design a bridge as this case study: i. The bridge
146. can be built without any workers being hurt or injured. Accidents happen regularly during
construction work. People fall down from heights; they get stuck under heavy construction parts.
These kinds of accidents should be prevented if possible for example by limiting the amount of
work that needs to be done at a height and ensure that safety features are built into the design. ii. The
bridge should be strong enough to withstand all normal loading during the whole of its lifetime and
all unexpected loading that might occur during accidents. iii. The designing engineers should take
all kinds of mistreat which can be collapsed the bridge. Therefore, they should imagine all those
kinds of mistreat in the design processes. iv. The designing engineers should

150. Nasa Crane Research Paper
NASA CRANE DESIGN The NASA crane was meant for us to work together and build teamwork
skills. The idea of the project was for us to work together to build a crane that would lift a certain
amount of weight. The designs were for the most part unique. We had to decide how we were going
to build our crane so it was strong enough support wise. To everything there is probably something
you like and you dislike, but you learn things from it no matter what.
There are many things I enjoyed about this project. I enjoyed that we got to work together to achieve
a goal. Even though we may not always enjoy working together with certain people, we learn the
skills we needed through this project. I also enjoyed getting to design something of our own, but
also have other people's idea to help shape the ending design. When you work together you all
probably have some similar ideas, but sometimes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I chose this project because it was one of the first one's we did. In this task, we had to create a paper
airplane following a certain set of steps. We had to figure up the area and use the measurements to
predict the distance it would go. We also had to write down our data so we could put it in a graph.
The engineering process was used in this project because we had to use the design. After the design
we had to test it. Once we tested it, we were able to redesign the plane using a certain measurement.
Then we would retest. After retesting we recorded the data. I enjoyed this project because you
worked independently but also with a partner. You could see the differences that you could have
made. Through the project you learned that seeing others results could help you get an idea of what
to do to change your product. I enjoyed being able to go test the planes and be able to ask other
people about their planes. The other thing I liked about this project is that I was able to get to know
others

InterClean–EnviroTech Training and Mentoring Program
Training and Mentoring Needs As stated in the memo that was distributed to the management staff
on May 31, 2010, it is the responsibility of our management team to make sure this merger
continues to take place as smoothly as possible. Management is also responsible for making sure we
give this sales team every possible resource and tool to be productive, efficient, and successful. To
make sure this is accomplished, we will conduct a needs analysis to ensure we are offering training
in the most pertinent areas. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Team building exercises will be implemented to strengthen the sales force.
Managers will receive diversity training as well as tolerance training and strategies for effective
leadership in organizations.
All training is subject to review and will be updated as needed to ensure our sales force remains
knowledgeable and competitive in this global market.
Performance Standards Standards identify a baseline for measuring performance. From performance
standards, supervisors can provide specific feedback describing the gap between expected and actual
performance (UCSF Human Resources, nd). The sales representatives will have the following
performance standards:
All sales representatives will make 15 personal contacts with prospective customers per day.
All inquiries must be contacted within 48 hours upon receipt.
All necessary forms will be properly logged in the computer for the data base and for follow–up
which will increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Any sales representative that doesn't meet his or her sales quota will receive a written warning and
offered assistance via mentoring or additional training as deemed necessary by the management
team.
Performance standards will be updated and reviewed as deemed necessary by management.
Delivery Methods Training methods can be classified in three ways: information presentation,
simulation methods, or on–the–job training (Cascio, 2006). The method of choice for our training
will be a

One day out of nowhere the sky turned dark and stormy and a tornado appeared. The farmer and his
family sought shelter in the cellar but there wasn't time to help the animals. Otis freed the animals
and took them to safety in Mud Creek. Otis can hear the bull crying from its pen and quickly goes
back to save him. Otis and the Bull hide in Mud Creek with the other animals until the storm is over
and return to their barn, which has been destroyed by the tornado. Together, Otis and all of the
animals, even the Bull, rebuild the barn.

163. Constraints Are Vital For Any Type Of Design Project Essay
b. Constraints
Constraints are vital for any type of design project. While you do not want too many of them within
your project, they are inevitable and should be worked around accordingly. Most of the constraints
we will face involve resources and time. We have a limited budget and all of our group members
have busy schedules. While these constraints will conflict with the abstract properties of the system,
they are very important to prepare for during the design process. Thus, we carefully determined and
listed the necessary constraints for our design project shown in Appendix A.
c. Standards
Standards are also a vital engineering requirement that help ensure the health and safety of any
products that are designed, produced, and presented to the market by engineers. Without having a
plan to meet a criteria of standards, your product could be a huge safety hazard and unfit for release.
We identified and described the different standards that influence our design project in Appendix B.
d. Global, Economic, Environmental, and Societal perspective
Looking at our project from a global, environmental, and societal perspective, I'd say that it's not
hugely impactful. Mostly due to intended use for this project. It's a training tool used for electrical
engineering students. Thus, will only truly impact that small minority of people. However, it should
at least be economical. Similar systems found online are quite expensive. The development of this
project was relatively cheap
