After carefully reviewing the letter from Executive Director William Patterson, of CtW Investment
Group, addressed to Hewlett–Packard's (HP) Lead Director and Corporate Governance Committee
Chairman Rajiv Gupta, I have discovered many new items I was not previously aware of. This well
thought and precisely constructed letter clearly addresses the issues and concerns felt by a majority
of HP's shareholders following the news regarding the recent $8 billion of impairment charges. If I
were a stockholder of HP, I would be equally as concerned and would question the judgment of
upper management and the board of directors.

The company acquired this time is Autonomy. Being purchased for the large price of $10 billion, HP
now is recognizing $8.8 billion to be impaired. This charge was a contributing factor to a $6.9
billion quarterly loss HP has reported. This time around, HP has announced that they have
uncovered fraud that took place at Autonomy prior to their acquisition. Former CEO of Autonomy,
Mike Lynch, has argued in defense of Autonomy, on the grounds that differences lie in the
accounting methods used in the U.K. vs. the U.S. He further states that HP was fully aware of these
differences Autonomy disclosed to them in the process of acquisition. The impact currently effecting
HP is that their stock price is now down 64% over the last two years in relation to these series of
missteps.
Through this review process of reading Mr. Patterson's letter as well as the articles supporting his
facts, I have gained a lot of knowledge on this current business event. Not only does this event
consist of potential accounting errors, but also that of mismanagement of valuable capital resources
from the top down (including board of director actions). The articles and SEC filings that I accessed

phone also has A11 Bionic, which is the most powerful chip available in smartphones. The storage
of 64 GB will certainly be enough that I won't run out of space. The camera can record 4k video,

hopelessly flawed, there is reason to blame Fiorina's lack of emotional intelligence for a style
completely at odds with organisational culture.
Leadership is about inspiring the confidence and support of people needed to achieve organisational
goals, a dynamic relationship between leaders and group members and the facilitation of
contribution (DuBrin 2016, p. 3: McShane and Von Glinow 2013, p.351). Kotter (1992, p. 102)
draws a distinction between management and leadership, saying the former deals with getting things
done while the latter decides what to do and why, but in practice they overlap and complement each

With the new challenge, the executives thought it would take nearer–term innovations, to produce
financial result that would give HP steady and massive growth. Based on that thought, one of HP's
business groups, Personal System Group (PSG), initiated to pursue the nearer–term of innovations.
They created Innovation Program Office (IPO). The case study describes how IPO went through
challenges and hurdles along the way from the conception, getting the resources needed, having

Kiss Me Kate. My mother still talks about it to this day, the first high school play she was ever in.
She acts like her performance was as good if not better than the those on Broadway. And to think
I've never seen the show that is my mother's "claim to fame." (Well other than her short renditions
she gave in the kitchen). But now it was my turn to watch the real show from the audience of the
Rockwell, instead of our kitchen table.
The format of this show, a play within a play, allowed it to have another layer of depth. There was
the plot behind the scenes, where we got an inside look at the actors' lives beyond the stage, and also
the plot onstage in their performance of The Taming of the Shrew. From the start, we see the all the
chaos that goes into a show in the opening number "Another Op'nin', Another Show." What a way to
start a show! It dives right into this lively song and dance number with the whole cast on stage,
while also introducing its main character. It's certainly entertaining and it's effective. As I watched it
really opened my eyes to think about goes on even behind that fake backstage wall, where the real
work happens. I found that even with this extra layer I never experienced any confusion as to what
was happening before me.
Although the feelings of the actors often spilled over into their performances on stage, and their
