Kim Jong Sung By Kim Il Sung
Kim Il Sung, originally born Kim Song ju, was born on April 15, 1912. Kim was born in a dark
time for the Koreans due to the occupation of Korea by Japan. It was around this time when
North Koreans grew tired of being Japan s puppets, and they were ready for a true Korean to stand
up for them and take back their beloved country. Kim IL Sung was not born to become anyone
important, and he was certainly not born to become the future dictator of North Korea. Kim s family
came from nowhere special they were ordinary farmers who kept to themselves and kept their
Christian beliefs close to their hearts. Kim did not have the same faith his family had; in fact he
did not care much for religion at all. Kim s main interest growing up was... Show more content on

Once in the army Kim learned a great deal about politics and communism from his boss Wei
Zhengmin. Kim became part of a Korean guerilla group, and with his help his group became
notoriously known for their attacks. Eventually these guerrilla groups became a big enough
threat that Japan posted rewards for any information on these guerilla groups, and over time
Japan attempted to eliminate as many of these guerrilla groups as possible. Those groups that
managed to evade Japan, Kim il Sung was among them, found refuge in the Soviet Union. The
Soviet Union trained and armed these guerilla groups. Kim quickly became known for his
leadership skills and his knowledge in both communism and politics his growing popularity with
the Russians gained Kim more connections with the Russians and the Chinese. When World War
2 was almost over the Korean Peninsula was cut at the 38 parallel line by the U.S. after the war
ended the Soviet Union gained control of the Northern half of the peninsula while the United
States gained control of the southern half. At the time Joseph Stalin was the dictator of the Soviet
Union and he was not sure who he should appoint leader of North Korea. Due to Kim Il Sung s
many connections in the Soviet Union the Soviets appointed Kim as the leader of the Northern
half of the Korean peninsula. Kim was forever grateful to Stalin and always did his best to mirror
his leadership ways. Now that

Impact Of Art And Culture On Canadian Identity
Art s and Culture has and will continue to make a significant impact on Canadian identity. Media,
Radio,Television,Film,Song,Book and Magazine industries have all helped to shape our society

The Tragically hip(Known as Canada s
Band ) was formed in 1983 in Kingston,Ontario. The band consists of 6 members led by lead
singer Gord Downie who are all on the same mission. Their mission is to make Canada shine as a
nation. The Hip sing about Canada s History,Geography and Events that have happened and how
it has impacted us positively and negatively.(Pearson) For Example, in the song Another
Midnight, Gord Downie sings, Perhaps we re election day, pumping hands and kissing all the
babies/ Ain t no time for shadowed doubts or maybes/ Is there another way? These lyrics show
the connection between 1970 and the october crisis which almost led Canada to a civil
war(Warner). All these lyrics show how the hip is including Canada into their own music and
shows how The hip sees Canada through all of their eyes. The Hip also write about political
opinions in their lyrics as well. Sometimes about Canada too. For Example, In the song Born in

The East India Company ( Eic )
A corporation, as defined by the Business Dictionary, is a Firm that meets certain legal
requirements to be recognized as having a legal existence, as an entity separate and distinct
from its owners. One of the earliest known corporations was the East India company (EIC),
receiving its Royal Charter from Queen Elizabeth I, in 1600, which granted it the right to
incorporate during a time when most people were either sole proprietors or in partnerships. The
EIC was a charter company whose most lucrative commodity was tea, opium and textiles. Their
power and influence was unparalleled and unyielding, acting as a governing authority in places
with weak or no governments. By taking control of the Bengal opium industry, they were able to
trade opium for tea in China, using the excess gains to buy textiles in Bengal and use them to
trade for slaves in Africa, which ultimately they sold for gold in America. These army backed
bandits were above the law and beneath the bailout. By the time of their eventual demise, the
world had changed and laws were put into place to prevent another EIC era, which better fit

Alcohol Is A Popular Ingredient
In today s society, alcohol is a popular ingredient in numerous products and beverages. And for
better or worse, alcohol has shaped our civilization for many centuries. Alcohol is any organic
compound, which the hydroxyl functional group is bound to a saturated carbon atom. It is classed
as a depressant, which is an ingredient that slows down vital functions resulting in slurred speech,
unsteady movement, disturbed perceptions and an inability to react quickly. As for how it affects
the mind, alcoholis best understood as a drug that reduces a person s ability to think rationally and
distorts our judgment. The term alcohol is originally referred to the primary alcohol ethyl alcohol,
the predominant alcohol in alcoholic beverages. Ethanolis thought to cause harm partly as a result
of direct damage to DNA caused by its metabolites. Alcohol is absorbed into the bloodstream via
small blood vessels in the walls of the stomach and small intestine. Within minutes of drinking
alcohol, it travels from the stomach to the brain, where it quickly produces its effects, slowing the
action of nerve cells. Some people should not drink at all, including alcoholics, children, pregnant
women, people taking certain medicines, and people with certain medical conditions. Anything
more than moderate drinking can be risky. Heavy drinking can lead to alcoholismand alcohol abuse,
as well as injuries, liver disease, heart disease, cancer, and other health problems. It can also cause

Theoretical Reflection On The Gospel Of Mark
For our first theoretical reflection we were assigned to read the gospel of Mark. Taking on this
reading requires an opened mindset and concentration. Reading this passage was hard for me
because when I am in church listening to the gospel readings, I do admit to lack interest. I read
the gospel of Mark to myself first because it takes time for me to analyze and process the event that
occurs in the reading. After reading the gospelto myself I listened to the audio reading. Listening
to the audio version of the gospel helped me find a deeper meaning to the reading. This allowed
me to be part of the reading as if I am there during that time. While I was looking over the reading
there were many factors that went into understanding the reading. I reread certain parts because
I did not understand what was occurring during a certain event. If I had no knowledge of the
gospel and what was happening, then reading this would have been a lot tougher on me. Since I
somewhat know the broad stories of the gospel from growing up and attending mass on
Sundays, it help me have a background going into the reading. There are a lot of small details
about which the events occurred and how people felt back in Jesus s time. The ability for
someone to retell the story of Jesus s life is extraordinary. Following the gospel help me get a
better understanding of what went on during this time and how people have evolved throughout the
years. The story being told of Jesus s life through the Bible is

How does an organization like the Charlotte Knights engage in sports marketing? What are they
looking to accomplish and what specific tactics might they utilize to accomplish that objective?
The Charlotte Knights engage in sports marketing by first establishing a budget. Then after
establishing a budget they go into detail of forming different strategy plans. The plans are full of
details that help forfill the goals that were set. Through their plans they were hoping to accomplish
a bigger and better franchise. Which consists of a better revenue that ll create more awareness to
the team to create a bigger fan base. Another thing is finding a way to make an increase in ticket
sales. Now after researching I found out the tactics they used to achieve the goal we re achieved

Leagues would promote revenue amongst their teams for competitive balanced. The revenue would
be shared equally between the teams. Reasoning for an Owner wanting to share their revenue is
because of profit for starters. That will increase the teams franchise by open more opportunities just
by making that investment. At the end there is eventually more money coming in just by sharing

The Pros And Cons Of Estes Roadway
The safety of the people shall be the highest law, (Cicero n.d. p1). Throughout history, the safety of
people has been arguably the most important objective of the government. Political leaders have
made a force including police, fire fighters, and etc. to keep the common population safe.
Unfortunately the system set up is not the most efficient at locating mistakes that could potentially
bring harm to citizens. Within the city of Longview, located in Texas, there is one of these mistakes
posing a threat to the population of the city. On the south side of the city there is a three way
intersection between the roads Estes Parkway (running north and south) and Highway 281 (running
from the west to Estes Parkway). This intersection designed... Show more content on

All of these solutions provide a viable way of increasing the safety of drivers in the intersection
and also make the intersection easier to follow direction. The first solution is based upon the idea
that the light pole will be shifted from the right side of Estes Parkway running north to the left side
between the median. This solution would eliminate the two extra traffic lights above the parallel
road, and focus on the intersection. The main issue with this idea is the cost involved with moving
the traffic light. According to the WSDOT it costs the taxpayer $250,000 to $500,000 to purchase
and install a traffic signal (WSDOT, n.d.). This also does not incorporate the amount of money
that it would take to provide the construction to move the light from one side of the street to the
other. Over all, this first solution could take upwards to 600,000 dollars to complete. The second
solution to the intersection is based on the idea that the two traffic lights over the intersection
could be taken down and in replacement there would be a sign placed in the spot instead. This
would provide an easy understanding of the intersection and also the drivers would not be
confused on which sign was meant for them. This change would save the city around 16,000
dollars a year based off of calculations from WSDOT in the amount of money it takes to maintain
traffic lights a year. Again there would have to be a little construction, however, the cost to make
this solution a reality would be much more cost efficient for the tax payers dollars. Finally, the third
option is to completely redesign the intersection as a roundabout. The average cost to put an
intersection in is just underneath 450,000 dollars (FHWA, 2015). That number however does not
even begin to cover the operating expenses of the intersection. WSDOT amounts the cost of
maintenance and electricity per year to be about 8,000

A Trip To Dodge City Research Paper
Day 2 Sunday June 5 Sweet Spring, MO, to Dodge City, KS 418 miles
A lot of driving again, through even flatter and boring Kansas farmland occasionally dotted with
huge grain elevators. Once you ve seen one wheat field ... Much of our travel was on U.S. 50, a
historic road that stretches from Ocean City, MD, to West Sacramento, CA.
We had a couple interesting stops. The first was in the Flint Hills of Kansas, so named because
the limestone is just below the surface and the rock is imbedded with pockets of flint, which
were of use to the Indians. This land was no good for farming because of the lack of deep
topsoil, so it was bypassed and thus never plowed or developed and is now the largest remaining
tall grass prairie in the nation. Prairie is a French word for meadow and when the white settlers
moved west, they encountered tall grass prairies from Texas to Canada and from Colorado to
the Mississippi River. The mature grass was about 6 feet tall. In the winter it dried up and fell
over, making a thick dry thatch (which served as a winter home for critters) that usually caught
fire during the spring storms. The fire would rage across the prairie until it came to a river too

History of C Essay
History of: Origins and Examples

Origins of C
What are C and OOP?
C is an advanced, high level programming language ( Computer languages ) that is used to develop
powerful applications for MicrosoftВ® WindowsВ®, many Linux environments, and other well
known and widely used operating systems. C is quickly becoming the standard language for
commercial software development (Oualline).
OOP, an abbreviation for objectoriented programming is simply code that attempts to place a new
layer of abstraction between the programmer and the data he is working with ... this layer will help
the programmer develop better code more quickly than he could do before. (McHale). OOP
languages must include four ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first implementation arose in 1958 and quickly became the standard for expressing algorithms.
Algol was most widely used in the academic community, which thusly led to its widespread usage.
P: begin integer h, i; real array A[1:5], B[1:5, 1:2]; for i := 1 step 1 until 5 do
A[I] := 6 i; h := 1
Loop: if h *= 5 then begin B[h,1] := 1;
B[h,2] := 5 + 3 * (h A[h]); h := h + 1; go to Loop end end P
(Parsons)
The similarity between such modern languages as Pascal and Modula 2 and Algol proves it
influential to the programming community, even today. Algol also introduced the concept of free
format, a concept that allows programmers to arrange the code any way they want (assuming the
syntax is correct) (Parsons). This concept proves itself useful today in making source code easier to
read and eliminating the problem of spaghetti code (code written in an unreadable fashion, or strung
together as spaghetti is).
Simula67
Simula67 was developed by the Norwegian armed forces (Kristen Nygaard and Ole Johan Dahl
at the Norwegian Computer Center) and was the first of its kind to use classes (as class is
defined by a program unit containing both data and associated functions ) (Overland, 3). Its
development was initiated between 1961 and 1967. SIMULA I, appearing first in 1964, was

Diction In Those Winter Sundays, By Robert Hayden
Its dreadful what little things lead people to misunderstand each other. Those Winter Sundays is
a poem written by Robert Hayden in 1962.In the poem, the speaker is remembering his past
experiences with this father. It describes the usual ways sundays were for the speaker. In the
poem, it shows the broken relationship between the speaker and the father, through the diction
and the way the poem is written. The way Robert Hayden wrote this poem, perfectly describes a
broken family without saying it directly, but through the way the poem is formatted. In the poem
Those Winter Sundays ,Robert Hayden exposese the ignorance that results in a broken
relationship between the father and child, through grim diction, apologetic tone, conflicting
imagery. The use of grim diction throughout the poem reveals the negative relationship between
the father and child just by the words the author choose. In the poem when the father is getting
ready, Hayden describes the environment in the house as Blueblack Cold (Hayden 2). In this
part of the poem the father is getting up to warm the house, because of the time period this poem
takes place in.If the author was only describing the temperature of the room he problem would
said it straight forwards, since this is not the case it is obvious that Hayden is not describing the
temperature of the house . By using Blueblack to describe the cold, it gives a powerful adjective
describing the cold. When we think of the world blueblack we tend to think of the skin color of
a person who has been in the snow for a long time ,so blueblack describe an extreme cold. Cold
has a negative connotation in many poems, in this case the cold is the relationship between father
and child.By using Blueblack cold as the adjective for cold is makes the reader assume that their
relationship between father and child is extremely bad.The speaker describes the place that he is
raised in as that house (9).If this was a short story and not a poem that phrasewould have been
glanced over without a second thought, but since this is a poem that is not the case. The way the
speaker describes the place he lived in by the wordchoose alone, reveals a lot about the father and
child relationship. By using the word that ,

painting represents the contrast between a female nude with fully clothed men in a rural setting. By

Also because the two clothed men are wearing dark clothes, the nude female obviously pops out
from the background and grabs viewers attention. I can see where the light hits in different areas,
but the nude female takes the main light source, and therefore, the landscape background smoothed
out the light. Tradition to this time era, Manet s techniques were extraordinary and brush strokes
become much less developed. Most of his brush strokes have been done in free handed. Focusing
on the nude female, her skin is not smoothed out with value of color and brush techniques. Also the
background is containing a rough brush strokes. During this time period, most of the artists are
hiding brush strokes for their technique, but Manet did the opposites. It is obvious to see each
brush stroke in nude female giving a rough complexion. In the background, also this style of rough
brush strokes are made noticeable, and this even seems unfinished. Manet was free with technique.
He did not try to hide or to follow the trends; indeed, some scenes in the painting seem unfinished.
Through the composition, the figures are positioned in central. The interesting thing is that through
this composition, I can draw myself a direct pyramid from. From the foreground nude female
figure rises up to the lady in the water. With this compositional sense, attention falls between the
two men. Men seem very odd and just stuck to be posing because compare to the women two men

writer to convince his readers to take action. At the beginning of his book he tells the readers,
that he too was a graduate of Hamilton College and trustee of the college, which instills trust with
the readers (Seaman 1). It lets the readers know that he is an educated individual who has become
successful, despite his drinking habits in college. However, when Seaman went to college in the
60 s, unlike now, beer was more common then hard liquor (Seaman 2). Seaman then uses Logos to
persuade his readers to believe that the minimum drinking age of 21 is not the solution. It s part of
the problem (Seaman 2). He goes about convincing his audience by offering facts and statistics
about different laws and when they where passed by congress. Although Seaman makes a
compelling argument, he has many flaws within his argument. Seaman strives to show his audience
that there is a counterargument to his claim. However, Seaman clearly states that when the

Comparing America And France s Economic And Political...
PREFACE
Anyu Wang
In this paper I am going to concentrate on comparing and contrasting how America and France s
economic and political policies choices combined with their cultural and historic backgrounds
helped their current place on the word stage. It is undoubted that the United States and France are
two of the strongest and most competitive countries in the world. Although they have almost the
same economic system and same concept, they still have very different current situations which are
closely bound up with their historic backgrounds and political choices. Through this paper I am
going to discuss this topic through several sections.

To discuss its historic background I will concentrate on the Bretton Woods System. Bretton Woods
System is an international currency system started form 1944 July at the end of the Second World
War. This system require each country to obey the rule that they tied its currency to gold in order to
keep the exchange rate stable and prevent the currencies from devaluation. The establishment of this
system ensure the resume and development of capitalist world economy especially America.
Although this system ultimately disintegrated in 1973, it still make significant contributions to
America s irreplaceable role today.
France
The French Republic is a sovereign state comprising territory in western Europe and several
overseas regions and territories. As a member of G7 France ranked as the world s seventh largest
economy. It also has the mixed economy which combines private enterprise and government
intervention. France s economics are unstable, but it is still very competitive in the world. The
reason why its economics is denounced is because its high unemployment rate and its extremely
unstable CPI.
To discuss the development of France s economy I will focus on the Marshall Plan. Marshall Plan,
as an approach of the United States to control the Europe and oppose the Soviet Union, also helped
the Europe with their bad economics. After the second world war, France tried to use government
intervention by Jean Monnet to recover its economics. In fact,

Theories Of Bering Strait Theory
The bering strait theory is named after Vitus Bering. It is also known as the land bridge theory as
well, the theory takes places during the ice age it is said that the waters of the Bering straits were
frozen over and match up, making sea levels lower which allowed the natives of North America to
cross over from Asiavia Siberia. They did not walk over ice they made a route. This is the origin
of our fellow native people. Many believe that the first people to populate the Americas migrated
across the Bering Land Bridge while tracking large game animal herds. Becoming the roots of the

Colors in The Great Gatsby
Colors are very apparent in The Great Gatsby. They often show up as descriptions to many
important items throughout the book, and make those items resemble symbols. The color white
confuses the reader, and often causes him/her to rethink their logic. It describes false purity and
deception within something, which is very apparent in the character Daisy in this novel. The
color grey gives the reader a comparison, and that is of humans to machines. Something that is
lifeless is described as grey. After that, there is the final color of blue, something that is very
dreamy. This is mostly associated with the eyes of Dr. T.J. Eckleburg but is also seen in other
things as well. The colors white, grey, and blue cause the reader to rethink this whole book, and are
associated with the most important symbols, in this novel. It is colors that truly make The Great
Gatsby, a marvelous book to read. White describes a falseness of purity of something that is
deceiving. This is shown in the beginning of the novel when the brazen Jordan Baker and Daisy
Buchanan are both introduced to Nick Carraway. ...that was as cool as their white dresses and

A Sorority Is A Subculture Or A Segment Of Society s...
All around the world sororities are a subculture or a segment of society s population on most
college campuses (Macionis 64). These sororities have their own language, norms, beliefs, and
values. Most college campuses have many charters or different sororities to choose from when a
student wants to pledge a sorority. On the Saint Francis University campus, there are seven
sororities that a female student can belong to. Each sorority has a different philanthropy which
is a foundation that the sorority stands behind. For example Delta Phi Epsilon stands behind the
Educational Foundation, this foundation helps women get the education that they deserve.
Sororities are known for creating a bond between girls that last a life time. The sororities have their
own language, they use words like pledge, bid, big, little, active, lavaliere, letters, and philanthropy.
A pledge is a person who accepts a bid, and a bid is an invitation to a specific chapter at their school
(Nakagoshi 1). When a female student wants to pledge a sorority they interview for a bid and the
sorority decides if they want to have the new student pledge or not. If the pledge gets the bid then
the student gets a big, a big is an older girl who has been part of the sorority for a year of more, and
the big is like a big sister they are supposed to care of their little or new pledge (Nakagoshi 1). An
active is a member of the sorority that has been part of the sorority for a few years. When a sister is

Subject: The Importance of Being Earnest exhibits a high seriousness of intent that Wilde wished
for.
In the play The Importance of Being Earnest , Oscar Wilde focused on the Victorian Age by
mocking the Victorian principles and ideals. Wilde utilized satire and mockery through the
character to make fun of their culture, principles, behaviors, and morals of the Victorians. Wilde
also used the characters in the play to demonstrate the political, social, and religious views in the
late 1900 s. One of the first things Wilde chooses to mock in The Importance of Being Earnest is
the institution of marriage which is a social satire. In the play, marriage ... Show more content on

Chauble. Chauble represents the religious satire Wilde wanted to present to the audience. Dr.
Chauble gives the exact same sermon at many events no matter the circumstances. In the play he
states My sermon on the meaning of the manna in the wilderness can be adapted to almost any
occasion, joyful, or, as in this present case, distressing. I have preached it at harvest celebrations,
christenings, confirmations, on days of humiliation, and festal days (Act 2). Wilde presents in this
play that the priesthood lacks originality and is very boring. He mocks the fact that Chauble uses
the same sermon for multiple occasions and doesn t even take the time to change it.
The last satire used in the play is political satire used to mock the victorian morality. Wilde
demonstrates instability of the moral consciousness when in the play Chasuble surrenders to his
emotions for Mrs.Prism. In the play, Chasuble states Were I fortunate enough to be Prism s pupil,
I would hang upon her lips (Act 2). Wilde uses this to mock the moral faith of the Victorian
society. The Victorian people were very absent minded because of the deeply hidden anxiety and
they tried to stay confines in their own privacy.
In conclusion, The Importance of Being Earnest, Wilde demonstrates uses satire through the social,
political, and religious ways of the Victorians and used them to make a mockery of their ideals,
beliefs, values, and

Sherman Alexie s What You Pawn I Will Redeem
The ability to understand other s differences is what we call acceptance. Accepting a person or a
situation for exactly what it is rather than trying to manipulate it into what you think it needs to be
is a way to happiness. The main idea of Sherman Alexie s story entitled What You Pawn I Will
Redeem is not let anyone or anything control, limit, repress or discourage you from being your true
self because only you can determine who you truly are as a person. Specifically in this story, the
main character is experiencing an identity crisis caused by the colonization of the White Folks. This
story claims this idea through symbolism to show the death of the Indian culture, through
connotation to show the differences between the pastand the presentNative Indians generation and
through characterization to show how the Indian population are still trying to find their true
identity as a part of the Indian nation.
Symbolism is used to show how important it is not to let anyone define who you truly are because
in Jackson s and the Indian nation s case, it had caused the death of their culture. The symbolism of
Jackson s grandmother represents the Native Indians culture. For example, Her name was Agnes,
and she died of breast cancer when I was fourteen. suggest that the grandmother is a representation
of the Indian culture, which died caused by the colonizations, something that takes over someone s
property. A grandmother is a member of the family who represents the past and the

It Is Critical For Self Disclosure Ethical And Clinical...
It is critical for self disclosure precautions, frequency in practice, potential risks, and potential
advantages to be reconciled through a research integrated framework considerate of paramount
ethical and clinical considerations. An attempt to do so will be made through first overviewing
self disclosure ethical and clinical principles identified in the scholarly literature. These
principles will then be synthesized into a larger discussion in which there will be identification
of which theoretical and conceptual positions are most supported by admittedly limited
empirical research and will therefore be discussed in their implications/application to various
practice scenarios. In so doing, the discussion first addresses the more conservative subject of
whether or not to disclose and then progresses into discussing what can or should be disclosed to
which clients under what clinical circumstances and contexts (Audet, 2011). Moreover, because
the possibility of a disclosing therapist invites an uncharted level of intimacy into a professional
relationship historically built upon secrecy and subtlety (Bottrill et al., 2010). Methodology A
comprehensive search of the PsycINFO database was conducted utilizing key words searches
germane to the larger subject matter. Key words that yielded the most relevant articles became
the key words for this paper. In total, 50 papers were included. Excluded papers were not available

An Analysis Of The Torso Of Aphrodite
During my visit to the Tampa Museum of Art, I observed and viewed various pieces from The
Classical World exhibit. While I observed numerous works, I was drawn to a specific piece due
to its uniqueness when compared to the other pieces in the exhibit. In this paper, I will be
describing The Torso of Aphrodite, using my own viewpoints and the elements of formal art
analysis, in order to explain the uniqueness when compared to other pieces in The Classical World
exhibit.
The Torso of Aphrodite was constructed in the 1st century A.D. and is made entirely of marble.
The torso used to belong to a life sized version statue of The Greek goddess of love Aphrodite. From
the moment I saw this piece, I knew I was attracted to it in a deeper way. It ... Show more content on

As the robe simultaneously conceals and reveals, it blends nicely into the lower part of her torso.
Her body is proportioned smoothly, with no areas of obvious fault or imperfection. I think having
those sensual characteristics adds to her overall beauty.
This sculpture is comprised of marble, and due to its large size it was easier for me to develop
an impression about the piece because I can focus on specific parts in more detail. To understand
the piece, a very visual and detailed perspective is needed. Judging by the way the thighs are
represented, it appears as though she is striking a contrapposto pose, which makes her appear
static. She has most of her weight shifted on her left leg, but not all of it The focal point of this
piece I believe is her robe. It skillfully falls down her left side, while leaving other parts exposed,
drawing the main attention of this piece. Few different types of shapes are displayed, except the
shape of her legs and the form of the robe. The physical texture was smooth throughout the entire
piece, partly due to the material it is made of. There is only this one texture, as her robe and body
parts all feel the same.
The title of this piece is Torso of Aphrodite/Venus . This piece was discovered outside of Rome in
1771. Afterwards, it was purchased by a wealthy English collector, who displayed it in his home.
Today, the piece resides at the

Business Communication Is Different in Pakistan Compared...
Business Communication is different in Pakistan compared to western countries
Communication is any behaviour, verbal or nonverbal, that is perceived by another. (Dwyer 2006)
business communications are purposive interchanges of ideas, opinions, information, instructions
and the like, presented personally or impersonally by symbol or signal as to attain the goods of
organization. (Rosenblatt, Cheatham Watt 1992) Today, the organization is growing more complex
and the business is growing larger, because of this, the communication is necessary for passing
information between people working in the same organization, it provides the critical link between
core functions. As Robert Kent, former dean of Harvard Business School has said, In ... Show more

business communication with organization s culture and country s system.
пѓ Direction of communication in most of the organizations in Pakistan ( especially public sector)
is mostly downwards, the mechanism of feedback and innovation of new ideas is restricted to only
few organizations. While in USA the direction of communication is mostly both ways. For example
different surveys, feedback tests and reports are conducted in business organizations monthly

пѓ In oral communication, both Pakistan and USA have informal rumours and one to one
discussions. But group discussions are more common and preferred in west.
пѓ Written communication has greatly been revolutionized by the advancement in technology
computerization. The public sector organizations in Pakistan are still working in old paper work

Restoring Chivalry
Restoring Chivalry
Some say that the age of chivalry is past, that the spirit of romance is dead. The age of chivalry is
never past, so long as there is a wrong left undresses on Earth. This is a quote from Charles
Kingsley, an English historian, professor and priest. As generations pass, the use of manners and
general well being is decreasing. Chivalry needs to be restored among the recent generations. As the
world and technology progresses, so does the need of chivalry in order to keep a successful and
humane society.
As the US and population grows, among all this progress, the act of simple manners are being
forgotten. Much of this can be blamed on technology. Technology has become the main source of

Transformation In Night By Elie Wiesel
In just a short span of four years, over six million Jews alone were slaughtered in an event called
the Holocaust. Eliezer may have survived the odious events of the Holocaust, but the ways it has
affected him will have changed Eliezer forever. The memoir the Night by Elie Wiesel shows the
transformation of Eliezer physically, mentally, and spiritually during the Holocaust. Elie Wiesels
immediate and most easily recognized changes throughout the memoir were his physical
changes. At the beginning of the memoir, Eliezer is in good condition and does not have any
disabilities. The memoir does not mention Eliezer having any specific problems about him and
does not single out any sort of sicknesses that he has. Once Eliezer enters the Jewish labor camps
however, this all begins to change. The first physical changes that occur with Eliezer is that he
loses lots of weight due to the fact that he is constantly being starved and forced to do hard labor.

At the start of the memoir, Eliezer is described as a religious boy who attends synagogue
frequently and listens to Moshe the Beadle, his pedagogue of Jewish mysticism. When Eliezer
arrives at the concentration camps he is shocked by what goes on and does not understand how
God could let his followers be mass murdered by the Nazis. An anger then begins to build in
Eliezer as more and more horrible events happen in the concentration camps, making him
believe that the germans murdered his God and the God now does not care at all about the
suffering and deaths of the jewish people in the camps. Eliezer s view on God then changes
again toward the end of the book where he gives up all hope in God. Eliezer blatantly rejects God
at this point stating that It s over. God is no longer with us (5,73). In the following chapter, Elie

We are against this concept. Science has proven that when you bulk a muscle, it loses it s elastic
qualities. As a result, the center of the muscle is shortened, balled up, and pulled away from
connective tissue which connects/holds muscles to the joints. This is called muscle hypertrophy.
Science has shown that it can have an adverse effect on athletic movement. This puts more stress
on the ligaments and tendons and causes muscular imbalances. Compare the way a human body is
made to a trampoline. A trampoline has a webbing or net in the middle which we jump on. All of
the focus and attention is usually on the net, similar to how most of the attention is usually put on
the size of the athlete s muscles. But what is actually firing or creating most of the power? Is it the
webbing or the springs? Think about it, the springs that are connected to the skeleton of the
trampoline are actually absorbing most of the shock applied to the trampoline. The springs reverse
that energy and catapults a person high into the air. So we have a net, that is connected to a spring,
that is connected to the skeleton of the trampoline. The human body is made the same way. We have
muscles that are attached to ligaments and tendons that are connected to skeletal bone. Our
philosophy of power is this: plyometrics has proven to be the best way to improve muscle elasticity
and connective tissue strength. There is also a timing that comes along with plyometric

Emily Dickinson s Different Views On Death
Emily Dickinson s Different Views on Death Death is inevitable, although many of us push it to
the back of our heads its eventually going to happen. Poet Emily Dickinson accepted this, and
enjoyed writing over half of her poems about death. We all think about death in different ways it
scares a lot of us, but those of us who are religious look forward to the afterlife in heaven, and are
grateful for the mortal life that we lived. Therefore, some of these poems depicted deathas being a
lonely ominous journey, while other poems displayed death as being an enjoyable ride from one
life to another. Dickinson changes her views on death as she grows older, and seems to be less
fearful of death. We can see this in her poems with the similar theme of death in, I heard a fly buss

whom he refers to as Sensei. The student, also the narrator of this story, goes on a journey to
reveal the secrets behind this enigmatic teacher who lives a reclusive and idle life with his wife.

The author writes, Not only had the sight filled me with sudden horror, but the head had felt

consequence of his sudden compulsion. Words such as, sudden horror and inordinately heavy,
describing a dead man s head depicts the emotional and mental scarring effect it created on a
growing young man. Having experienced this at such a young age and never receiving the
proper treatment, Sensei was traumatized which resulted in his isolation and distrust of
humanity. Additionally, as the night continues, Sensei becomes restless. He claims, What had

mine, who now lay cold and lifeless before me (231). Sensei, being at such a vulnerable age,
suffered the guilt of leading his companion to death, which had a tolling effect in his

Measuring Measure Of Implicit Attitudes
MEASURING ATTITUDES
Implicit association test measure of implicit attitudes
All measures of sampling verbal behaviour
Social psychologists employ a variety of different measures in attempt to measure attitudes, which
cannot be directly measured due to their hypothetical and unobservable nature. However, they are
often inferable from behaviour. For example, a negative attitude towards smoking might be
reflected in moving away from someone who lights up in your vicinity (behaviour). Attitudes
measures can be explicit (i.e. participant is asked directly about their attitude towards an object e.g.
opinion poll), or implicit (i.e. measure wherein participants sub conscious attitudes are assessed
without their knowledge e.g...) (Haddock and Maio, 2008). Questionnaires are the most common
measure of attitudes, utilising one of four types of attitude measurement scales.
For example, Louis L. Thurstone (1887 1955) devised his equal interval scale in his 1928 work,
Attitudes can be measured , based on results obtained from a study on religious attitudes, ranging
from extremely positive to extremely negative (Thurstone and Chave, 1929). However,
constructing such a scale is a complicated and time consuming process. Items on the scale are
assumed to have equal intervals (i.e. items are divided into groups containing an equal range of
numbers) between them, with each representing a pre assigned value (e.g. Homosexuality is a
choice attached value of 1; Homosexuality is

I agree with this form of post injury goal setting program. I believe that if we as a consultant can
keep the athlete striving for his or her own goals they can still feed the competitive drive that
remains within the athlete. By continuing to set goals for the athlete we need to keep in mind that
these goals need to be task oriented and not ego oriented. In other words, these goals set forth by the
athlete and his physical therapist or consultant need to be concerned with the development of
competence within the rehabilitation of the athlete. Doing so will promote self efficacy through the
value and commitment of the rehabilitation. What we should try to avoid, is setting ego based
goals where the athlete is compared to previous or current athletes with the same injury. This only
lowers self confidence and increases the already high anxiety levels within the injured athlete.

The Struggle of the Asian Powers During the Age of Imperialism , which lasted through the entire
nineteenth century, most countries/ areas outside of North America and Europe struggled to adjust
industry based economies. Asian countries were left with a dilemma: industrialize quickly or
become subjects of western powers. Although some Asian countries were conquered many of them
become world powers by the twentieth century.
Japan s goal during the nineteenth century was to catch up to match the strength of Europe. By
beginning their transformation, the Japanese adopted a new form of government. Feudalism
became insufficient so Japan formed a government that utilized a written constitution. This new
government allowed the establishment of modern military forces. Western technology was
integrated which allowed Japan to revamp their economy from an agriculture based to an
industrialized machine in less than fifty years. By the end of the Meiji Restoration, Japan no had
no more fears of being imperialized. Instead, they set out to practice imperialism themselves. From
1894 to 1895 Japan fought China in the Sino Japanese War and forced China to agree to terrible
terms. At the turn of the century Japan was ready to become a world power. When Russia came

Analysis Of Facing It By Yusef Komunyakaa
Facing It is a poem by Yusef Komunyakaa. It is a poem in which the writer uses imagery and
figurative language to express his feelings and his thoughts. He expresses his strong emotions
towards the Vietnam War because he was a veteran. During the poem, he reflects on his thoughts
from the war while he was at the Vietnam VeteranMemorial.
The speaker is visiting the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. In the beginning of the poem, he is trying
to hold back his tears. He is trying to remain strong and brave. When he is at the Vietnam Veteran
s Memorial, he comes across the name Andrew Johnson. As the readers of this poem, I have no
clue who Andrew Johnson is. Andrew Johnson could be someone that was close to him during the
war. At the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, you can see your reflection through the walls. The walls
at the memorial are how the narrator speaks about his reflections and what he can see through the
walls. The very last few lines of the poem are when he sees a reflection of a white vet in the
Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
In lines 1 2, my black face fades, hiding inside the black granite he is speaking about how his face
is literally black from the granite wall. He is also speaking how the kind of person we show to
the world. We do not always show who we truly are, people only show the side of their
personality that they want people to see. From these two lines, the narrator brings up the main
theme of this poem. In lines 3 5, the writer is expressing his feelings or he is at least trying not
to, he tries to hold back his emotions from the war. He wants to remain strong because he says, I
m stone and flesh He is not literally saying that he is stone but he is a person that has been
through a lot and even after everything he is still alive. In lines 6 9, imagery is the only thing
being used because he is only speaking about his reflection and how it relates to the granite
stone. In lines 10 13, he says, I am inside the Vietnam Veterans Memorial . From this line, part of
the narrator is still stuck at the war. He brings up light and how he wants it to make a difference.
Light is symbolized for how we represent ourselves to others and the kind of person we truly are. It
also plays a big part in the poem

Representation Of Identity Formation
Through a qualitative comparative literature approach studies the representation of identity
formation on the work of transnational writers Reyna Grande and Sandra Cisneros. I introduce the
framework of liminality to understand identity formation of transnational individuals. Transnational
and diasporic identities have been understood as the incorporation of multiple geographical sources
of identity, inclusive of locations on both sides of the border and having multiple homes (Szeghi
2014:163). While this is true, this definition does not address the disharmonies, sense of alienation
and/or identity conflicts that the incorporation of multiple geographic locations that
transnationalism can provoke to individuals belonging to the less privilege

The Supreme Court, Which Does Overrule Its Precedent From
The Supreme Court, which does overrule its precedent from time to time, does not need to do a
lengthy analysis of each precedent s viability in every case. Rather, through its certiorari
jurisdiction (certiorari an order by which a higher court reviews a decision of a lower court), it
selects cases and issues that allow it to reconsider precedent on its own time. When the Court
decides that a previous decision may be in jeopardy, it often asks the parties to brief whether
precedent should be overruled.4 The Court must still confront petitions questioning precedent, but it
can dispose of these quickly and without explanation if it so chooses through a simple denial of
certiorari. This shows that horizontal stare decisisis upheld in the... Show more content on

In their opinions it stated In approaching this problem, we cannot turn the clock back to 1868
when the Amendment was adopted, or even to 1896 when Plessy v. Ferguson was written. We
must consider public education in the light of its full development and its present place in
American life throughout the Nation. Only in this way can it be determined if segregation in
public schools deprives these plaintiffs of the equal protection of the laws. They never say they
overturn or change their minds on a decision. They simply state that even though at the time of
Plessy v. Ferguson the idea of it was theoretically possible to be separate but equal, but when it was
enforced the outcome did not support that.
Here are the main arguments for the opposing side. The Supreme Court views it as a non
mandatory judicial policy. Stare decisis has an effect on collegiality within the Supreme Court
justices. Schauer s studies indicate that stare decisis has a rare and weak influence on the Court and
most Supreme Court decisions have not taken their predecessors seriously.
One of the main opposing arguments is that The Supreme Court has viewed horizontal stare
decisis as a non mandatory judicial policy. Example: Planned Parenthood of Southeastern
Pennsylvania v. Casey. The Court chose not to overturn Roe v. Wade 8 despite its conflicted
feelings about the decision. Horizontal stare decisis is not applied with equal vigor in all cases.

My Day Experience At A Music Festival Called Electric...
Thank you for always being a great friend of mine. We always hangout, do fun things, and make
great, unforgettable memories. You almost always come to concerts with me, show me new
music, and inspire me to love music even more. This is why I want to share you my three day
experience at a music festival called Electric Daisy Carnival(EDC), which is the second biggest
music festival in the world. I wore my EDC bracelet, which is my admission ticket, grabbed my
ID and some cash to buy food, drinks, and merchandise, and left my friend s car with excitement.
I was walking towards my first EDC ever. My dream of going to EDC was about to come true. I
was waiting in line for security check and I couldn t stop thinking and imagining about what I
would be experiencing soon. As soon as I went through the security check, I walked into the
racetrack, where this carnival was held. From top the bleacher, I was able to see the entire carnival.
On the left side, I was able to see the main stage with a huge crowd of people. On the right side, I
was able to see the merchandise tent, where they sold food, drinks, and souvenirs, as well as the
other three stages and few carnival rides, including rampage and zipper. In front of me, I saw a
stage, wider than a track field with five large ledscreens showing colorful visuals, on a grass field,
in which half of the people were dancing and half of the people were sitting and relaxing. They
called it Cosmetic Meadow. Due to having multiple

Psychology; defined as the scientific study of the human mind and its functions.
With the study of psychology, we have discovered the minds, and bodies and all of its functions of
humans in the past and the present. Psychologists help in doing this, as they have created the
information that we know, trust and use to figure ourselves and others out. A psychologist in

Skinner created two types of associative learning processes. One is operant conditioning, the
other is classical conditioning. Operant conditioning is learning in which when followed by a
reinforcer or receded by a punisher or negative reinforcer a behavior is strengthened. Classical
conditioning is learned through a process. That process is through a series of steps which are,
acquisition, stimulus generalization, stimulus discrimination, extinction, and spontaneous
recovery. It is depicted through a sort of formula that will create a result, it is before
conditioning, during conditioning, and after conditioning. It is how a stimulus will react to a
certain response that is repeated over numerous times. People that will benefit from this are
people with former drug addictions, phobias, the fighting diseases in the body, parents who use
this for their children etc. An example would be a person who is struggling with drug addiction.
Before conditioning they would see drugs as a form of pleasure, but if during conditioning you
put the drug in front of a person and they go to use it you can give them a slight electrical shock,
and to continue and much as they do. By the time it is over and it is after conditioning any time
that person sees a drug in front of them they will think about the shock they received in the past,
which will ultimately result in them having no desire to use the drug and it will no longer give
them pleasure as it had did before. You can use this method in many different ways for many
different situations it can bring numerous different ways of relief to a person if they are in pain or
are struggling with something they cannot handle

Donald Trump Political Scandal
There once was a young man named Rod. Rod had worked hard for the majority of his life. He
was born into a poorer family in Chicago. He took odd jobs growing up and later in life went into
politics. His life was looking up he had made a name for himself and decided to run for
Governor. He won and was then given a chance to decide who would fill the new president s seat
in the senate. Instead of picking a member of his party, or picking the most qualified candidate he
decided to accept a bribe, almost like a payment, for the seat. Now one might recognize this story.
It s the story of Rod Blagojevich, the former Illinois Governor who was impeached from office
under an unanimous vote, and imprisoned for 14 years on many charges including corruption.
There are a few things that make news headlines what the Kardashians are doing, Donald Trump s
new racist claim, and Political Scandals. Corruption is spreading so fast. It s almost moving faster
than the flu through a kindergarten classroom.
It is known the the people elect to run this country are abusing their power. If an example is
needed just look at everyone s best friend: Richard Nixon. He did a really good job at covering up
his corruption. If only the guys didn t mess up Watergate he would have finished his second term.

Summary Of The Response To Intervention
Chapter 3 The Response to Intervention, Referral, and Placement Process Reflection and
Summary By: S. Elizabeth Jackson Examining the Response to Intervention (RTI)
ProcessResponse to Intervention (RTI) is an in school service program designed to guarantee that
all students are getting a high quality education. Before students are referred for special education
services, it is essential that they receive effective teaching designed to meet their own learning
requirements. All students in public schools are required to be included in the RTI program.
While the different program may vary from state to state, the basis of the models are the same.
The RTI process has three tiers. In tier one is labeled curriculum based classroom... Show more

Teachers, during tier one, should closely follow the GREAT guidelines. Teachers are also
expected to differentiate instruction for those who are struggling. Tier two teachers expected to
collect extensive data on the at risk student. Teachers are to collect data not only on information
the student got wrong, but also when they were correct. This aids in a more correct placement, if
needed. The final tier of the RTI process, tier three, is where all the data collection comes into
play. In order for a student to be admitted into tier three, there has to be adequate evidence to
support this claim. The teacher needs to continue to collect data to provide information on
whether or not the student has made progress with the interventions in place. The teacher may
asked to organize the data collected during the previous interventions. The text suggest that the
teacher may be asked to collect this data in the form of a visual aid, such as a bar graph. Process
of Determining if a Student has a Disability and the Responsibilities of the Teacher When all the
tiers of RTI have been utilized, the Students Support Team (SST) decides if the next appropriate
step for the student is a referral to special education. Biased on the information gathered during the
RTI process, the SST will appraise and see if the student meets the criteria for one of the IDEA
categories of disability. The disability or impairment must have an unwanted

Analysis Of Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight In Heaven
In a world where assimilation is the easiest way to survive, it can be difficult to maintain two
identities. The development of characters is the foundation in which people use to grow and
become successful in their path of life. Oppression, cultural changes, and pressure to conform to
the stereotypical image of success causes discontent among cultures. Many children have an ideal
image of who they want to be, and often their parents have a conflicting view on who they would
like to see their child become. In the story Two Kinds the Narrator has a rebellious attitude towards
the aspirations of her mother. The amount of pressure placed on her and her lack of success causes
sadness in the main charactersince she was not able to perform the way her mother wanted.
Similarly, the main character from The Lone Rangerand TontoFistfight in Heaven experiences a
feeling of inferiority from the racial discrimination and lack of financial success in his life. In the
story Two Kinds the Narrator does not want to become the prodigy her mother wishes her to be.
The idea of becoming a famous actor or musician, like Shirly Temple, was a noble idea from her
mother since she only wanted to see her daughter succeed. The pressure she placed on her daughter
to follow her orders and be obedient, however, was not in the likeness of the daughter s interests.
This example is evident when the author s mother states [There are] Only two kinds of daughters,
she shouted in Chinese. Those who are obedient and those who follow their mind! Only one kind of
daughter can live in this house. (Tan 242) The fight that occurs between the narrator and her mother
causes a sudden shift in tone, which indicates that the mother no longer held the same high Johnson
2 expectation from her daughter. Throughout the story, the main character struggles with her
identity. The narrator s family was

Individual productivity calculator can be devised to reward those who work more in order to keep
the parity issues from creeping in and at the same time providing growth and recognition to the
employees as mentioned in the Herzberg two factor model (Newstrom, 2015). This model can be
interpreted as a pioneering technique to motivate the team.
When the employees sweat out to reach the production targets, they give their best and the mind set
or the attitude of the employees towards the organization changes. The management should set up
monthly workshops to interact with their employees, thus making the employees feel that the
management is well within their reach and is ready to listen to their pleas. Organizing such
workshops will stimulate the feedback process which will help the management to cut down on
production and sales costs in turn maximising the returns (Arnolds amp; Boshoff, 2002).
Organizing technical trips and field tours further improves the management employee relationship
as this allows the two parties to work together in a different environment and gain better ideas. The
concepts of the ERG (existence, relatedness, growth) Model can be applied by recognizing
individual employees who attain the highest productivity and then rewarding them with various
benefits such as growth. Growth is what employees look for in any organization as the more

Factors Of Scooterino
The main political factor that would influence the success of Scooterino in a particular economy is
state regulations concerning ridesharing business. Specifically, the more regulations there are in a
given country targeted at a ridesharing business, the harder it will be to develop and sustain
Scooterino in that economy.
What is interesting in this analysis is that the four cities under consideration Berlin, London, Madrid
and Paris are, naturally, all parts of the EU political and legal framework. It is worth noting that
one of the biggest names in a ridesharing business Uber has faced considerably more obstacles on
its rise to prominence in Europe, compared to the United States, where it originated. As it appears,
in Europe, traditional modes of transportation business prove to be a bigger resistance towards ride

One of the major factors deciding whether a ridesharing business will sustain in the long run is the
corruption level in a particular economy. Specifically, the higher the corruption level is, the easier
it would be for competing businesses to using various bribing schemes to enforce a ban on your
business. In the case of a ridesharing platform, the ban might be initiated in the interest of taxi
industry, and such cases are outlined further in the section dedicated to analysis of legal factors.
While there is no evidence to suggest that bans on ridesharing sector are caused solely by corrupt
state officials, in certain cases it is virtually to impossible to identify other reasons for restrictive
legislative acts. The more corrupt the particular state is, the easier it is for a particular lobbying
company to enforce legislative acts that would limit their competitors

Examples Of Satire In The Pardoners Tale
Following the Pardoner s short story about the rioters, he divulged into a peroration of his
medieval sermon. The Pardoner s eloquent haranguing appears as he exclaims, My holy pardon

silver brooches (Chaucer 301 303). Even though the statement appears to free of irony, the
Pardoner s opening story brings a sense of satire to his closing remarks. Throughout the tale of the
rioters, the Pardoner hoped to exhibit how greed is a negative characteristic, yet he is exceptionally
money hungry himself. The utilization of irony thus showcases the Pardoner s characteristics of
being self seeking and egotistic. Chaucer accurate depicts the characterization

Examples Of New Historicism In Othello
New Historicism
When I did research on New Historicism I found that it is seen as is a school of literary theory
and that it was first developed in the 1980 s. Also when I looked for a definition for New
Historicism I found that it is seen as an expressive act that is embedded into a network that consists
of material practices.
When we want to look for New Historicism in a novel or in a movie it is important to first have a
look at the author s biography as well as the social background and it is lastly important to look at
the ideas that was circulating the cultural era of that time as well.
New Historicism is also concerned with the political function of the literature as well as the concept
of power. In other words how they emerge, but it will tell us about the different ways of thinking at
that time.
In other words New Historicism is a literary theory that is based on the idea that literature should be
studied and interpreted within the context of both the history of the author and the history of the
critic. New Historicism is also often emphasized as the power struggle of all kinds, and that also
includes the power struggle in literary texts.

One of the quotes that was talked about said: We can function to the maximum only as we

Portrayal Of Women In Antigone
In the play, The Burial at Thebes Antigone, the daughter and the sister of Oedipus, is the tragic
heroine of the play. The character of Antigone is portrayed very differently as it breaks the
stereotypes of the typical portrayal of women is the society. In the first moments of the play, as
the plot develops and characters enfold, Antigone is produced as a rebel from the onset itself. Her
character is countered to her radiant sister Ismene. She was never as beautiful and as docile as her
sister Ismene but was brave, scrawny, recalcitrant, withdrawn and stubborn brat of the family. The
early plot reveals that Antigone has a boyish physique and thus curses her girlhood. She being the
antithesis of the histrionic heroine envies the beautiful Ismene. Due to these factors, Antigone has
always been complicated as a person, she grew up terrorizing Ismene as a child and refusing to
understand the limits placed on her and this attribute of her character later dominants her resulting
in tragedy. Ismene, on the other hand, is entire of this world, the object of all men s desires, so
Antigone s jealousy is justified.
After Antigone s father went into exile, Antigone and her sister were brought up in the house of
Creon. Polyneices and Eteocles are her two brothers who lead opposite sides in Thebes civil war
and get killed in the battle leaving Antigone and Ismene as the last of the Labdacus family.

  • 2. Kim Jong Sung By Kim Il Sung Kim Il Sung, originally born Kim Song ju, was born on April 15, 1912. Kim was born in a dark time for the Koreans due to the occupation of Korea by Japan. It was around this time when North Koreans grew tired of being Japan s puppets, and they were ready for a true Korean to stand up for them and take back their beloved country. Kim IL Sung was not born to become anyone important, and he was certainly not born to become the future dictator of North Korea. Kim s family came from nowhere special they were ordinary farmers who kept to themselves and kept their Christian beliefs close to their hearts. Kim did not have the same faith his family had; in fact he did not care much for religion at all. Kim s main interest growing up was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once in the army Kim learned a great deal about politics and communism from his boss Wei Zhengmin. Kim became part of a Korean guerilla group, and with his help his group became notoriously known for their attacks. Eventually these guerrilla groups became a big enough threat that Japan posted rewards for any information on these guerilla groups, and over time Japan attempted to eliminate as many of these guerrilla groups as possible. Those groups that managed to evade Japan, Kim il Sung was among them, found refuge in the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union trained and armed these guerilla groups. Kim quickly became known for his leadership skills and his knowledge in both communism and politics his growing popularity with the Russians gained Kim more connections with the Russians and the Chinese. When World War 2 was almost over the Korean Peninsula was cut at the 38 parallel line by the U.S. after the war ended the Soviet Union gained control of the Northern half of the peninsula while the United States gained control of the southern half. At the time Joseph Stalin was the dictator of the Soviet Union and he was not sure who he should appoint leader of North Korea. Due to Kim Il Sung s many connections in the Soviet Union the Soviets appointed Kim as the leader of the Northern half of the Korean peninsula. Kim was forever grateful to Stalin and always did his best to mirror his leadership ways. Now that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. The East India Company ( Eic ) A corporation, as defined by the Business Dictionary, is a Firm that meets certain legal requirements to be recognized as having a legal existence, as an entity separate and distinct from its owners. One of the earliest known corporations was the East India company (EIC), receiving its Royal Charter from Queen Elizabeth I, in 1600, which granted it the right to incorporate during a time when most people were either sole proprietors or in partnerships. The EIC was a charter company whose most lucrative commodity was tea, opium and textiles. Their power and influence was unparalleled and unyielding, acting as a governing authority in places with weak or no governments. By taking control of the Bengal opium industry, they were able to trade opium for tea in China, using the excess gains to buy textiles in Bengal and use them to trade for slaves in Africa, which ultimately they sold for gold in America. These army backed bandits were above the law and beneath the bailout. By the time of their eventual demise, the world had changed and laws were put into place to prevent another EIC era, which better fit Ambrose Bierce s Devil s Dictionary description of a corporationas, an ingenious device for obtaining profit without individual responsibility . Introduction In this essay, I will discuss the basic requirements for starting a business corporation in China, and do the same for both India and the United States. I will further identify the level of complexity of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Theoretical Reflection On The Gospel Of Mark For our first theoretical reflection we were assigned to read the gospel of Mark. Taking on this reading requires an opened mindset and concentration. Reading this passage was hard for me because when I am in church listening to the gospel readings, I do admit to lack interest. I read the gospel of Mark to myself first because it takes time for me to analyze and process the event that occurs in the reading. After reading the gospelto myself I listened to the audio reading. Listening to the audio version of the gospel helped me find a deeper meaning to the reading. This allowed me to be part of the reading as if I am there during that time. While I was looking over the reading there were many factors that went into understanding the reading. I reread certain parts because I did not understand what was occurring during a certain event. If I had no knowledge of the gospel and what was happening, then reading this would have been a lot tougher on me. Since I somewhat know the broad stories of the gospel from growing up and attending mass on Sundays, it help me have a background going into the reading. There are a lot of small details about which the events occurred and how people felt back in Jesus s time. The ability for someone to retell the story of Jesus s life is extraordinary. Following the gospel help me get a better understanding of what went on during this time and how people have evolved throughout the years. • 9. The Pros And Cons Of Estes Roadway The safety of the people shall be the highest law, (Cicero n.d. p1). Throughout history, the safety of people has been arguably the most important objective of the government. Political leaders have made a force including police, fire fighters, and etc. to keep the common population safe. Unfortunately the system set up is not the most efficient at locating mistakes that could potentially bring harm to citizens. Within the city of Longview, located in Texas, there is one of these mistakes posing a threat to the population of the city. On the south side of the city there is a three way intersection between the roads Estes Parkway (running north and south) and Highway 281 (running from the west to Estes Parkway). This intersection designed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All of these solutions provide a viable way of increasing the safety of drivers in the intersection and also make the intersection easier to follow direction. The first solution is based upon the idea that the light pole will be shifted from the right side of Estes Parkway running north to the left side between the median. This solution would eliminate the two extra traffic lights above the parallel road, and focus on the intersection. The main issue with this idea is the cost involved with moving the traffic light. According to the WSDOT it costs the taxpayer $250,000 to $500,000 to purchase and install a traffic signal (WSDOT, n.d.). This also does not incorporate the amount of money that it would take to provide the construction to move the light from one side of the street to the other. Over all, this first solution could take upwards to 600,000 dollars to complete. The second solution to the intersection is based on the idea that the two traffic lights over the intersection could be taken down and in replacement there would be a sign placed in the spot instead. This would provide an easy understanding of the intersection and also the drivers would not be confused on which sign was meant for them. This change would save the city around 16,000 dollars a year based off of calculations from WSDOT in the amount of money it takes to maintain traffic lights a year. Again there would have to be a little construction, however, the cost to make this solution a reality would be much more cost efficient for the tax payers dollars. Finally, the third option is to completely redesign the intersection as a roundabout. The average cost to put an intersection in is just underneath 450,000 dollars (FHWA, 2015). That number however does not even begin to cover the operating expenses of the intersection. WSDOT amounts the cost of maintenance and electricity per year to be about 8,000 ... A Trip To Dodge City Research Paper Day 2 Sunday June 5 Sweet Spring, MO, to Dodge City, KS 418 miles A lot of driving again, through even flatter and boring Kansas farmland occasionally dotted with huge grain elevators. Once you ve seen one wheat field ... Much of our travel was on U.S. 50, a historic road that stretches from Ocean City, MD, to West Sacramento, CA. We had a couple interesting stops. The first was in the Flint Hills of Kansas, so named because the limestone is just below the surface and the rock is imbedded with pockets of flint, which were of use to the Indians. This land was no good for farming because of the lack of deep topsoil, so it was bypassed and thus never plowed or developed and is now the largest remaining tall grass prairie in the nation. Prairie is a French word for meadow and when the white settlers moved west, they encountered tall grass prairies from Texas to Canada and from Colorado to the Mississippi River. The mature grass was about 6 feet tall. In the winter it dried up and fell over, making a thick dry thatch (which served as a winter home for critters) that usually caught fire during the spring storms. Diction In Those Winter Sundays, By Robert Hayden Its dreadful what little things lead people to misunderstand each other. Those Winter Sundays is a poem written by Robert Hayden in 1962.In the poem, the speaker is remembering his past experiences with this father. It describes the usual ways sundays were for the speaker. In the poem, it shows the broken relationship between the speaker and the father, through the diction and the way the poem is written. The way Robert Hayden wrote this poem, perfectly describes a broken family without saying it directly, but through the way the poem is formatted. In the poem Those Winter Sundays ,Robert Hayden exposese the ignorance that results in a broken relationship between the father and child, through grim diction, apologetic tone, conflicting imagery. The use of grim diction throughout the poem reveals the negative relationship between the father and child just by the words the author choose. In the poem when the father is getting ready, Hayden describes the environment in the house as Blueblack Cold (Hayden 2). In this part of the poem the father is getting up to warm the house, because of the time period this poem takes place in.If the author was only describing the temperature of the room he problem would said it straight forwards, since this is not the case it is obvious that Hayden is not describing the temperature of the house . By using Blueblack to describe the cold, it gives a powerful adjective describing the cold. When we think of the world blueblack we tend to think of the skin color of a person who has been in the snow for a long time ,so blueblack describe an extreme cold. Cold has a negative connotation in many poems, in this case the cold is the relationship between father and child.By using Blueblack cold as the adjective for cold is makes the reader assume that their relationship between father and child is extremely bad.The speaker describes the place that he is raised in as that house (9).If this was a short story and not a poem that phrasewould have been glanced over without a second thought, but since this is a poem that is not the case. Compare the way a human body is made to a trampoline. A trampoline has a webbing or net in the middle which we jump on. All of the focus and attention is usually on the net, similar to how most of the attention is usually put on the size of the athlete s muscles. But what is actually firing or creating most of the power? Is it the webbing or the springs? Think about it, the springs that are connected to the skeleton of the trampoline are actually absorbing most of the shock applied to the trampoline. The springs reverse that energy and catapults a person high into the air. So we have a net, that is connected to a spring, that is connected to the skeleton of the trampoline. The human body is made the same way. We have muscles that are attached to ligaments and tendons that are connected to skeletal bone. Our philosophy of power is this: plyometrics has proven to be the best way to improve muscle elasticity and connective tissue strength. There is also a timing that comes along with plyometric ... • 29. Emily Dickinson s Different Views On Death Emily Dickinson s Different Views on Death Death is inevitable, although many of us push it to the back of our heads its eventually going to happen. Poet Emily Dickinson accepted this, and enjoyed writing over half of her poems about death. We all think about death in different ways it scares a lot of us, but those of us who are religious look forward to the afterlife in heaven, and are grateful for the mortal life that we lived. Therefore, some of these poems depicted deathas being a lonely ominous journey, while other poems displayed death as being an enjoyable ride from one life to another. Dickinson changes her views on death as she grows older, and seems to be less fearful of death. We can see this in her poems with the similar theme of death in, I heard a fly buss when I died and Because I could not stop for death. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 33. Measuring Measure Of Implicit Attitudes MEASURING ATTITUDES Implicit association test measure of implicit attitudes All measures of sampling verbal behaviour Social psychologists employ a variety of different measures in attempt to measure attitudes, which cannot be directly measured due to their hypothetical and unobservable nature. However, they are often inferable from behaviour. For example, a negative attitude towards smoking might be reflected in moving away from someone who lights up in your vicinity (behaviour). Attitudes measures can be explicit (i.e. participant is asked directly about their attitude towards an object e.g. opinion poll), or implicit (i.e. measure wherein participants sub conscious attitudes are assessed without their knowledge e.g...) (Haddock and Maio, 2008). Questionnaires are the most common measure of attitudes, utilising one of four types of attitude measurement scales. For example, Louis L. Thurstone (1887 1955) devised his equal interval scale in his 1928 work, Attitudes can be measured , based on results obtained from a study on religious attitudes, ranging from extremely positive to extremely negative (Thurstone and Chave, 1929). However, constructing such a scale is a complicated and time consuming process. Items on the scale are assumed to have equal intervals (i.e. items are divided into groups containing an equal range of numbers) between them, with each representing a pre assigned value (e.g. Homosexuality is a choice attached value of 1; Homosexuality is ... I believe that if we as a consultant can keep the athlete striving for his or her own goals they can still feed the competitive drive that remains within the athlete. By continuing to set goals for the athlete we need to keep in mind that these goals need to be task oriented and not ego oriented. In other words, these goals set forth by the athlete and his physical therapist or consultant need to be concerned with the development of competence within the rehabilitation of the athlete. Doing so will promote self efficacy through the value and commitment of the rehabilitation. What we should try to avoid, is setting ego based goals where the athlete is compared to previous or current athletes with the same injury. This only lowers self confidence and increases the already high anxiety levels within the injured athlete. Asian countries were left with a dilemma: industrialize quickly or become subjects of western powers. Although some Asian countries were conquered many of them become world powers by the twentieth century. Japan s goal during the nineteenth century was to catch up to match the strength of Europe. By beginning their transformation, the Japanese adopted a new form of government. Feudalism became insufficient so Japan formed a government that utilized a written constitution. This new government allowed the establishment of modern military forces. Western technology was integrated which allowed Japan to revamp their economy from an agriculture based to an industrialized machine in less than fifty years. By the end of the Meiji Restoration, Japan no had no more fears of being imperialized. Instead, they set out to practice imperialism themselves. • 37. Analysis Of Facing It By Yusef Komunyakaa Facing It is a poem by Yusef Komunyakaa. It is a poem in which the writer uses imagery and figurative language to express his feelings and his thoughts. He expresses his strong emotions towards the Vietnam War because he was a veteran. During the poem, he reflects on his thoughts from the war while he was at the Vietnam VeteranMemorial. The speaker is visiting the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. In the beginning of the poem, he is trying to hold back his tears. He is trying to remain strong and brave. When he is at the Vietnam Veteran s Memorial, he comes across the name Andrew Johnson. As the readers of this poem, I have no clue who Andrew Johnson is. Andrew Johnson could be someone that was close to him during the war. At the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, you can see your reflection through the walls. The walls at the memorial are how the narrator speaks about his reflections and what he can see through the walls. The very last few lines of the poem are when he sees a reflection of a white vet in the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. In lines 1 2, my black face fades, hiding inside the black granite he is speaking about how his face is literally black from the granite wall. He is also speaking how the kind of person we show to the world. We do not always show who we truly are, people only show the side of their personality that they want people to see. From these two lines, the narrator brings up the main theme of this poem. In lines 3 5, the writer is expressing his feelings or he is at least trying not to, he tries to hold back his emotions from the war. He wants to remain strong because he says, I m stone and flesh He is not literally saying that he is stone but he is a person that has been through a lot and even after everything he is still alive. In lines 6 9, imagery is the only thing being used because he is only speaking about his reflection and how it relates to the granite stone. In lines 10 13, he says, I am inside the Vietnam Veterans Memorial . From this line, part of the narrator is still stuck at the war. He brings up light and how he wants it to make a difference. Light is symbolized for how we represent ourselves to others and the kind of person we truly are. It also plays a big part in the poem ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Supreme Court, Which Does Overrule Its Precedent From The Supreme Court, which does overrule its precedent from time to time, does not need to do a lengthy analysis of each precedent s viability in every case. Rather, through its certiorari jurisdiction (certiorari an order by which a higher court reviews a decision of a lower court), it selects cases and issues that allow it to reconsider precedent on its own time. When the Court decides that a previous decision may be in jeopardy, it often asks the parties to brief whether precedent should be overruled.4 The Court must still confront petitions questioning precedent, but it can dispose of these quickly and without explanation if it so chooses through a simple denial of certiorari. Only in this way can it be determined if segregation in public schools deprives these plaintiffs of the equal protection of the laws. They never say they overturn or change their minds on a decision. They simply state that even though at the time of Plessy v. Ferguson the idea of it was theoretically possible to be separate but equal, but when it was enforced the outcome did not support that. That process is through a series of steps which are, acquisition, stimulus generalization, stimulus discrimination, extinction, and spontaneous recovery. It is depicted through a sort of formula that will create a result, it is before conditioning, during conditioning, and after conditioning. It is how a stimulus will react to a certain response that is repeated over numerous times. People that will benefit from this are people with former drug addictions, phobias, the fighting diseases in the body, parents who use this for their children etc. An example would be a person who is struggling with drug addiction. Before conditioning they would see drugs as a form of pleasure, but if during conditioning you put the drug in front of a person and they go to use it you can give them a slight electrical shock, and to continue and much as they do. By the time it is over and it is after conditioning any time that person sees a drug in front of them they will think about the shock they received in the past, which will ultimately result in them having no desire to use the drug and it will no longer give them pleasure as it had did before. The final tier of the RTI process, tier three, is where all the data collection comes into play.
