Physician Assistants
The Contributions of Physician Assistants in Primary Care Methods
Health Profession Assignment
To understand the role of health profession, it is essential to acknowledge the importance and value of
primary care. The beneficial impact of primary care on population health can further be explained as
greater access to health services, better quality of care, additional contributions towards prevention
strategies, prior action taken on health issues, and lastly the role of primary care in reducing unreliable
and inefficient support towards cure (Dover, Christian 10). Primary care professionals serve as the
first contact providers of healthcare (AAPA, 2). They face first contact to the role of healthcare
system. In other words, they often are the ones to see depression and anxiety, early signs of cancer and
disease, and other health concerns (Dover, Christian 10). They accomplish their goal of patients
receiving the right care, in the right form, from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the practice level, physician assistants have taken over many duties once handled by doctors.
Physician assistants working in family medicine receive about half the salary of doctors, and those
working in areas of specialties receive about one third as much as doctors in the same specialty
(Cunningham). Physician assistants are included in health care delivery system in many different
settings and specialties. They represent10 percent of the primary care labor force and 9 percent of
physicians in community health centers (AHRQ Stats No.3). Furthermore, most physician assistants
work in a variety of specialties, including oncology, dermatology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, and
behavioral health (Doven, Christian 2). Many physician assistants have worked in several specialties
of healthcare and medicine over their careers, a representation of their adaptability (Doven, Christian

Three Stages Of Early Sequential Bilingualism
Early sequential bilingualism.
Nativist McLaughlin (1984) claims that children whose ages are from two to six, can develop their
language competences naturally, so at the time they start their formal education process, they have
already mastered them. The author states that during these ages, children are so curious that they start
creating and experimenting with language. She also affirms that second language acquisition takes
place when children s listening and speaking skills have been well established in their mother tongue
before being exposed to a second one.
Likewise, a great expositor of early childhood sequential bilingualism is Titone, 1972 (as cited in
Beardsmore, 1986), he states that when children are around four to five years ... Show more content

The first one is characterized by a silent period. During this stage children listen and observe speakers
of the target language s non verbal hints. It is a period that might take a couple of months and teachers
should allow it to happen without pressuring the child. During this stage, communication is conveyed
by paralinguistic features such as gestures, body language, facial and deictic expressions, to later start
replicating some memorized fixed expressions and/or phrases constantly heard from their teachers. In
the second stage, children start creating their own sentences in the second language. It is a period
where teachers need to be aware of each child s language development to provide not only timely
feedback, but also to praise and support them along the process. Finally in the last stage, children start
employing the new linguistic code with a more accurate pronunciation, lexical and grammatical use. It
is important to mention that during these stages, children code switching back and forth in their two
languages. This is considered by the authors as a typical characteristic of bilingual users and it actually
helps to increase their fluency

The And Quality Of Food Intake
Plenty of researches indicates that there are connections between the type, and quality of food follows
a socioeconomic class or structure. While a high quality food is associated with individuals from a
high class or of greater wealth or privilege. On the other hand, energy dense foods being poor in
nutrients are consumed by persons from lower classes and socioeconomic status and of restricted
economic power. Therefore, steak of a high and premium quality is more likely to be consumed by
individuals of a high social class. Moreover, foods that are high in fats are more likely to be associated
with people from a lower social class. Although, the socioeconomic power determines the type of food
intake, there has been no evidence suggesting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, there is the creation or a social construct of group identity that engages in gastro politics.
There is an argument that the tastes that consumers have for certain products, or the consumption of
specific products or services is socially conditioned, and these products are reflective of a symbolic
hierarchy that is maintained, or is determined by the dominant social class to enforce their distinction
from other social classes. Therefore, tastes could be a social weapon that defines a certain social class,
and it defines and differentiate the high from the low in matters that ranges from food, drinks,
newspapers and cosmetics. Consumer preferences, especially when it comes to the food consumed is
socially conditioned, and it can be seen from the upper social class selection of food.
The debate about food and class comes down to education because the idea of being taught lies at the
center of the debate or socially conditioned. Food classification and the rules are passed down from
one generation to another as advice concerning what to eat or what makes a suitable meal, the time to
eat, food preparation method, process and safe food preparation strategies. Our descendants figured
out what to eat to meet their energy and nutrition demands and then passed it down to their
descendants through enculturation. The practice has continued, and it is with this that the type of food
consumption can be assumed or examined as evidence of

Video Game Reflection Paper
When I was little, I loved to try lots of new things. Games, toys, candy; but I had never heard of video
games. Until one day on the bus, my neighbor told me that he had a Wii. I had seen commercials for it,
and it looked fun. Originally I never wanted one because it was so expensive. That night when I went
over to his house, my life would never be the same. Later that day I went over to his house. Ordinarily
we run around, shoot each other with face guns, and do other things like that. I was getting antsy
though, so we went inside after only 45 minutes. We got inside and then I saw it, the white Wii sitting
on the entertainment center next to the TV. What games do you have? I asked.
The only game I have is Mario Kart, he replied, so that is what we played. Since I had never played it
before I was terrible. Three games in a row, I got 12th out of 12. After, about an hour of playing I
started to notice that I was passing the computers (other racers) and getting 7th 4th place on average.
Nevertheless, I soon had to leave, but I was much better than when I started.
Besides having so much fun on the Wii, I rarely got to play on it. I had played on it here and there, but
not a lot. I kept asking my parents for a Wii, they only said no, but then when it got closer to
Christmas they started to tantalize me by answering with maybe for Christmas. That got me very
excited. That year I was probably on my best behavior ever. On the day of Christmas I kind of forgot

Media Essay It s Time to Ban the Advertising of Alcoholic Beverages
Everywhere we go, we re bombarded by all sorts of advertisements. We can seldom go through one
day without receiving at least one phone call from a telemarketer. Turn on the TV for 15 or 20 minutes
and you ll see at least one 5 minute commercial break. Advertisements are abundant everywhere we
go: alongside roads, at airports, and at train stations. Why is advertising so popular, why do so many
companies pump millions of dollars each year into advertising? The answer is simple: ads inform
people of products they otherwise wouldn t have heard of, they make products look appealing to so
that people will buy them, and they allow advertisers to influence the general ... Show more content on

The loss of control ties in closely with physical dependence on alcohol if, by whatever means, the
alcoholic attempts to quit, he or she experiences withdrawal symptoms. As an alcoholic continues to
drink more and more and become increasingly dependent on alcohol, he or she gains tolerance to
alcohol in order to get drunk, the alcoholic must consume more alcohol.
An explanation of alcoholism is not enough to persuade most people to ban alcohol advertising. Most
fail to recognize the vast amount of people that alcoholism and other alcohol related problems effect.
Many studies have been done and many statistics have been gathered to show the grim reality of
alcohol related problems. In the United States, there are 100,000 alcohol related deaths each year,
which puts it at slot number three in the list of the top causes of preventable death in the nation.
Approximately two thirds of domestic violence and sexual assaults involve alcohol in one way or
another and one half of all murders in the nation involve alcohol. Among the nation s high school
students, 81% have used alcohol at least once, and 30% have had five or more drinks in a row in the
past two weeks. High school students (underage) drink 35% of all wine coolers sold in the United

all the nation s tenth graders and eight percent of the nation s eighth graders have been drunk in the

The Concept of Advanced Civilization Led to the European...
During the European conquests of the 16th and 17th centuries, the concept of an advanced civilization
was essential most of the time. This can be supported by the strategic Spanish conquests, Portuguese
exploration, and the Dutch trading empire.
To begin with, North and South America, which had existed in isolation for thousands of years, came
into contact with the rest of the world via the Italian explorer, Christopher Columbus. In 1492, he was
sent by Spain to look for a route to India. Rather, Columbus came into contact with a Caribbean
island. This marked the beginning of Spanish invasion of the Americas, who were in search of gold.
Perhaps the most profound Spanish conquistadors were Hernan Cortez and Francisco Pizzaro, who ...

The Incas had no knowledge of the wheel, arch construction, or writing, but they managed a society in
the Andes. Pizzaro arrived with 180 men and 30 horses, and decided to meet with the ruler, Athualpa,
under an agreement of having unarmed body guards. As the gold covered ruler agreed, he was
immediately stripped of his gold headband and one blast of his cannon and small army slaughtered the
Inca warriors 50,000. Atuhualpa tried to free himself by offering a 17ft by 22ft by 9ft room of gold.
The Spanish took the offer, but still murdered Atuahulpa to show that they could not be trusted so that
others would abide by their rule. The contact between the Americas and the Old World began
biological exchange of animals and foods which greatly benefited trade.
Additionally, Vasco de Gama was a Portuguese explorer who discovered an ocean route to India, in
1498, by going under the tip of Africa, or Cape of Good Hope. This way avoided conflicts with the
Ottoman Turks and led one directly into the fast moving currents of the Indian Ocean. This plan was
carefully devised by skilled Portuguese mapmakers and navigators. Since this way was known, many
rulers such as the Sultan of Manindi, offered the Portugese captain a pilot to guide his ships to trade
for spices, gems, and fine (cotton, paper, porcelain, silk, glass, carpets) textiles. The Asian trading
network, however were not interested in Portuguese goods such as iron

Ethical Differences And Similarities Between Tiger Woods...
Intro to Ethics
Business Ethics are an important part to any organization. If a business doesn t practice good ethics,
they will not be successful because of their image perceived by the public. Ethics is the branch of
philosophy that involves systematizing, defending, and recommending concepts of right and wrong
conduct. What the definition says is it s more of a decision of right vs. wrong, ethical or unethical.
Based on our class discussion, we discussed where we get our morals, or ethics from. We learned the
two sets of people are the most influential are your parents, and your employer. The reason I don t find
this surprising, is that these two groups are the people that teach you the most in life. Your parents
teach you good morals and values, from your religion and your respect for people. That is instilled in
you since the day you are born. Your employers teach you the right and ... Show more content on

Roger Chillingworth Character Analysis
Characters to People Appearance is representative of a character s current state development along
their journey of either growing as a person, or falling back into more feral tendencies that ultimately
destroy their body, soul, or both. Despite what a character may express to the outside world, their
appearance and actions delivers a relatable context of their hidden motives and well being thus
imbuing them with human life. The outward appearance of Roger Chillingworth is one of the most
distinct in the entire novel, even going as far as giving a glance into his future. When first introduced
to Chillingworth, he is a quiet astute individual that is described multiple times as inquisitive and
observant, traits that are red flags for a character searching for something. The work of Bethany Reid
within, Narrative of the Captivity and Redemption of Roger Prynne , reveals similar sentiment. She
starts her observation by noting, [In] Our first view of Roger Chillingworth... what we first observe
about him underscores his mutable nature. (Reid, 46). Roger s nature starting off the story in this
fashion is consistent to his inner motives; he simply wishes to learn more about Hester and her
whereabouts. On the same page, however, it is noted that he has a slight hunch in his shoulders, a
disfigurement of sorts. This disfigurement is our first clue into his future involvement in the conflict of
the story as he becomes more and more disfigured within. Roger Chillingworth s

Monuments Men Book Report
Monuments Men Summary and Strong Response Essay Personally, history intrigues me. I love
learning about things that helped shape our country and others. There s only one catch, listening to a
teacher lecture about history kills me. It is, in my opinion, the most boring thing in the world ever to

stand listening to lecture after lecture. So when I can do research on my own, or learn about it in my
own way, it makes it so much more enjoyable. While reading this book, Edsel brought things to my
attention that I never would ve have thought were of importance back then. For example, the whole
book is about art preservation and the importance of art to societies around the world, something that I
never really cared about until after I read this book. Edsel shows the importance of art in history
through this book, which is that art connects everyone because it is a representation or reminder of our
heritage and culture. From this viewpoint, Edsel broadens his audience immensely, and understand
and appreciate art like he does. The story begins in the city of Karlsruhe, Germany. Karlsruhe was a

The Horror Film Genre
Horror films have been around for over 100 years, petrifying people and bringing their worst fears to
life but still they can t get enough of this sick and gory genre that is unbelievably entertaining and
captivating to the audience. Horror comes with many sub genres from your bloody slashers like Friday
the 13th to your Supernatural Horrors like The Exorcist, but in the end they all seem to do their job by
scaring you and leaving you with nightmares for weeks on end. Usually Horror s films have the same
character stereotypes such as the nerd, the jock, the slut, the virgin, the junky, the tough hero, the
unlikely hero and last but not least the masked murderer, but yet they all play their own part in the
making of these horrors movies whether it is the extremely slow walk the killer does but almost
always catches the victim, or the unwise decision to split up and investigate where the unusual noise is
coming from.
Every film uses pro filmic codes, despite of what genre it is. Location, lighting styles, props, costumes
and compositions are all used. In horrors location is a very big factor to the plot, as it contributes to
the storyline and without a certain location the viewer would get quite confused as to where it s set,
some locations that are frequently used are places like the woods, summer camps and just normal
homes. Props used can vary from many different items whether it is from the killer s life ending
weapons or something as simple as jewellery. Lightning styles

is known to affect the young school going children but may also affect teen agers.
Batten disease is also a fatal hereditary disorder of the central nervous system occurring in childhood.
The symptoms include formation of lipopigments in body tissues and early symptoms include

Modernism In The Waste Land By T. S. Eliot
Modernism , broadly , comprises the creations and the actions of those who realized that the
conventional forms as art , literature , architecture , sciences , religious faith became old fashioned in

rejection of 19th century traditions and of their consensus between author and reader ( 159 ) . This
literary movement had its root in the late 19th century and early 20th century . T.S, Eliot , one of the

Scientific based instruction is something that teachers use all the time in their classroom. Teachers are
consistently assessing and evaluating students performance, creating and amending individual
education plans, lesson plans, and reflecting on their practices. As teachers, we should be doing
rigorous research and building hypothesis to base further teaching practices on.
During the program that I am in now I ve learned that for evidence based practices that you must have
the access to evidences based practices, be careful with fidelity, and to check the progress of the
students. Today many teachers search websites such as google to create their lesson plans. They do
this because many teachers do not have time to sit down and look for the proper research that is
needed. These lesson plans that they are finding may not be considered an evidence based instruction
method. There are many websites that have been made for teachers which have the proper evidence
based programs that are needed for teachers. Next we have to be careful with fidelity , which refers to
accuracy or exactness to details. Teachers want to be sure that their evidence based methods have
strong outcomes from the students. It is important for teachers to not change or leave out any of the

The And The Digestive System Of The Broiler Chickens Essay
Abstract
Due to the rapid growth of broiler chickens, skeletal disorders have become a serious problem for the
poultry industry. This, in turn, leads to an unwanted expense for poultry farmers and so they seek out a
way to improve the bone strength and welfare of the birds.
Silicon (Si) is an important element to the body as it can improve bones and the immune system. This
means it can be used in diets as a cheaper alternative to calcium and phosphorous. However, there is
little understanding of the mechanisms of Si in the digestive system of the broiler chickens.
At NTU, a bioavailable silicon supplement has been produced to alleviate some of the skeletal
disorders and to further the knowledge of the interactions of Si. This project involves analysing bone
data and evaluating the effects of the novel feed supplement.
Introduction
Skeletal disorders in broiler chickens has become a major problem for the poultry industry over the
past 50 years (Toby G. Knowles, 2008). These weaknesses are due to selective breeding of the birds
which has shown to be less economical than expected for the industry and also displays an absence for
bird welfare (Bennett, Christiansen, Clifton Hadley). The pace at which the birds grow has
dramatically increased over the years to accommodate the demand for the tender meat they now
produce (Manohar, Omprakash, Kanagaraju, 2015). This in turn has led to the skeletal disorders as the
weight they gain can no longer be supported by the legs

Link Between Autism And Vaccinations
No Link Found between Autism and Vaccinations
The purpose of report is to explore the possible link between the development of Autism or Autism
Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and vaccinations containing thimerosal. Around the world, there is a
debate over the administration of the mumps, measles, and rubella (MMR) vaccination due to the use
of the preserver, Thimerasol. Thimerasol s use is controversial to the fact that the compound contains
the toxic chemical element, mercury (Hg). In 1999, the Center for Disease Control and the American
Academy of Pediatrics pushed the FDA for the removal of mercury from vaccinations administered to
children under the age of six. Although this measure was only of a cautionary nature, it led to many

They go on to state that they compiled studies that examined the relationship between the MMR
vaccination and the post administration development of Autism or the spectrum disorders. The
information that they extracted consists of the study characteristics, methods, and outcomes. They
finally state that they found no relationship, of any kind.
The first section in the methods section describes the protocol to be followed. In order to find
appropriate studies for the meta analysis, Taylor and Swerdfeger, examined articles from Medline,
Pubmed, Embase, and Google Scholar using the guidelines outlined by the Preferred Reporting Items

Newcastle Ottawa Scale (NOS). Eslick then reviewed the articles. Following this, Taylor manually
extracted the study design, the country of completion, sample sizes, interventions, outcome measures,

As technology is continously changing so is the amount of information produced as well. The way
organizations store this information and how its accessible is crucial for the company. Managing such

Anorexi A Call For Help
Anorexia: A Call for Help Many people are not sure what it means to have or be around someone who
has Anorexia Nervosa. Anorexia is one of the leading causes of death in young women, and a
crippling mental illness that can potentially ruin a person s life (Kranz and Maloney 8). About one in
250 girls has suffered with some type of eating disorder at a point in their lives. This disease is taking
over the lives of many young women, and we need to help stop it. Anorexia, which comes from the
Greek words an meaning without and orexis which means appetite is a very complicated eating

is avoiding food or overeating. The eating disorder ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of the reasons are physical abuse, mental abuse, low self esteem, genetics, and hormones. When
a child is younger, almost everything has an impression on her even if she does not think it will. For
example, if a teenager was hit a lot when she was younger, it can lead to anorexia or bulimia or even
something worse. Physical abuse can often times trigger a young person to be unhappy with his or her
body and want to change it drastically. However, it has not been proven that it can cause an eating
disorder. Another possible cause for eating disorders can be mental abuse. Mental abuse can be caused
from something tragic that recently happened in the person s life, such as a divorce or a parent s dying.
Low self esteem is another highly responsible cause for eating disorders. Low self esteem can be
brought on by a number of things. Some people with anorexia may have previously been a compulsive
eater or even overweight at one point in their life (Kranz and Maloney 52). These types of things can
sometimes cause a person to feel as though his or her body is not good enough and they need to fix it.
Some people also believe that an eating disorder can belong in someone s genes. Certain eating
disorder may in fact be traced back to other family members who once suffered from them or similar
disorders. Other aspects play a role in eating disorders

Subject: Strategic and Operational opportunities
Livoria Sandwiches faces major changes within the food industry in Dawkins. The city is in
continuing growth and expansion, being ranked as the fastest growing number of vegetarians in the
country.
Currently Livoria faces a cash shortfall due to a lawsuit. The menu has to be adapted to the market

resource, Livoria is going to be able not only to meet demand but it will meet owners preference of
minimum 1.1M by 2015 and increased cash flow. Changing the sales mix there are some aspects that
must be considered: contribution margin per limited resource and popularity of the products.
No capital investment is required.
Cons:
Sandwiches for which Livoria is well known for might disappear from the menu by 2015, (losses in
loyal customers). Veal cutlet sandwiches demand can be satisfied in proportion of 77% in 2013
[67,028/86,333 units], 90% in 2014 [78,710/87,283 units] and disappear completely in 2015 from the

Limitation in number of employees Livoria can hire is a constraint against more growth possibility.
Livoria can satisfy only 83% of demand in 2013, 87% in 2014 and 70% in 2015. (app.4)
Livoria will change its current business success core (meat sandwiches) in favor of vegetarian one.

Geologic Age Model
Topics for Discussion and Review
2. Explain why the geologic age model expects that fossils must have formed slowly over eons.
The main reason is that fossils have not formed in the present day minus the eruption of a volcano or
some other catastrophe (minus cave fossils). The problem is that is a glaring whole in their theory
because they admit that fossils can form quickly due to catastrophes. The more they try to push away
from the biblical model it leads back to the model of the great flood.
9. Why does the geologic age model attempt to date fossils by the rocks containing them, not with
historical data?
The historical data points to a young earth and that is a massive problem for the evolutionist. If
science went off that data they would have to come to a much different conclusion. The evolutionary
scientist have to have a much older earth for their theory to work. Without the expanded time frame
their theory is invalid.

helped me figure out what I could do to separate myself from others in a positive way. Just like every
other kid, I have many extracurricular activities and play sports, but none of them stopped for a second
to think about ways to help others instead of helping themselves. My plan was to volunteer at Camp
Sunshine. Camp Sunshine was a place where disabled people of all ages could come, meet others like
them, potentially make friends, and have a good time. The other volunteers and staff members always
had a positive attitude and smiles on their faces to keep a cheerful spirit. Even though many of the
campers had no filters and constantly invaded in other people s spaces, they enjoyed human company
and constantly laughed blissfully. I wanted to make their lives even better by starting a program that

Salmonell A Major Cause Of Foodborne Illness Worldwide
Salmonella enterica sub enterica are a major cause of foodborne illness worldwide. Contaminated
food products such as pork, meat, milk, fruits, vegetables, egg and egg products are the common
vehicles of Salmonella infections (Hur et al., 2012). It is estimated that gastric illness caused by
Salmonella spp. accounts for 93.8 million cases and 155,000 deaths worldwide each year (Majowicz
et al., 2010). This statistic clearly indicate that Salmonella infections are public health and financial
global burden for both industrialised and non industrialised countries. In Australia, majority of human
disease outbreaks of Salmonellosis are associated with consumption of contaminated egg and egg
products (OzFoodNetWorkingGroup, 2012, 2015).
Several intervention strategies have been implemented on a worldwide scale to reduce the risk of
Salmonella contamination and has been discussed in the literature review. However, emergence of
antimicrobial resistance (AMR) strains of Salmonella, egg contamination, biofilm formation and the
decreased susceptibility of Salmonella biofilms to commonly used antimicrobials are the major
obstacles in this journey. In spite of this, it is vital that studies concerning Salmonella must ensure the
effective prevention and control of this zoonotic pathogen. This thesis has investigated different
pathogenicity aspect of Salmonella enterica spp. recovered from egg farm environments of Australia
and the key findings of in vivo and in vitro experiments are

Lyndon Baines Overcome Rhetorical Analysis
The Civil Rights Movement of 1954 1968 is a time of struggle and efforts for African American
equality and can be categorized as a peaceful movement of restless seekers of justice. But after the
Selma to Montgomery March in Alabama in 1965, where many ended injured and one ended up
killed, President Lyndon B. Johnson saw this as his executive duty to show the nation that this was an
American problem that we all needed to fix. On March 15, 1965, a week after Selma, Johnson gave
We Shall Overcome, a speech whose purpose was to motivate civil rights to African Americans and
make it into a civil cause, as well as gain support for a bill that rightly legally aids to this solution of

There is only an American problem , which shows that there is no placing blame for the wrongdoings
of this nation. With this, he means to emphasize that we have all been a part of this problem, and we
shall all be part of the solution. Lastly, Johnson also uses epistrophe in Lines 190 191 ( All Americans
must have the privileges of citizenship regardless of race. And they are going to have those privileges
of citizenship regardless of race ), where the phrase regardless of race is repeated. Using epistrophe
has the same effect as if the speaker repeats the same phrase for the people in the back . In other
words, the use of epistrophe emphasizes Johnson s point that race does not matter in citizenship
issues. Likewise, Lyndon B. Johnson uses diction to make his speech s purpose more impactful and
echo across the country. For example, Johnson avoids using the term U.S citizen and instead uses
American, or Americans. The word America has more powerful connotations than using the term
prior. Being a U.S citizen is of legal matters, whereas being an American refers to loving your country
and being patriotic, and it has nationalistic connotations, and in

The Black Cat Thesis
The Black Cat by Edgar Allen Poe is a horror story about a man who loses everything he once had due
to his alcohol use/abuse. The story begins when the narrator confesses his love for animals. The
narrator marries a woman and introduces her to a black cat, named Pluto. The narrator begins to suffer
from violent and uncontrollable mood swings, caused from influence of alcohol. After coming home
drunk one night the narrator lashes out at Pluto, he quickly tries to grab the cat, only to be bitten. To
get revenge the narrator pulls a knife from his pocket and cuts out one of Pluto s eyes. He then goes on
to blame this on the spirit of perverseness, which means rejecting what is good, right, and/or proper.

narrator transforms from a gentle animal lover into an evil killer. The narrator does address the fact
that he is an alcoholic, But my disease grew upon me for what disease is like Alcohol (Poe 46).

Domestic Terrorism And Its Effect On Terrorism Essay
Domestic terrorism consists of violations against federal and state law that put humans into danger.
The purpose of domestic terrorism is to influence or to instill fear into the population and government.
Terrorism comes in forms of gun violence, assassinations, and destruction (1). Since 1970, there have
been 2,608 attacks and 226 fatal attacks up until 2011 (3). In 1867, the development of dynamite
contributed to increasing terrorism, and radicals have used explosives to bring attention to political
issues within the country. This invention led to the Haymarket Affair, Los Angeles Times, and the
Preparedness Day bombings (2). What has further caused domestic terrorism has been the argument
over who is an American. This explains the emergence of the Boston Tea Party and the white
supremacy of the Ku Klux Klan which both occurred to claim what being an authentic American
means (3). After the Cold war, domestic intelligence and law enforcement suppressed terrorist plots,
but since the leader of al Qaeda increased website usage in 2003, more internet terrorist sites have
grown. In 2009, the FBI stated that there were approximately 15,000 websites that advocated terrorism
with 10,000 sites still active on 80% of U.S based servers. (4) An example of an attack was the
Oklahoma City bombing in 1995 which resulted in 168 people dead and 600 people injured; the
motivation for this was to show the opposition against the U.S government by bombing the Alfred P.

The Misunderstood Religion of Islam
Islam is perhaps the supreme misunderstood religion today, among non Muslims and among some of
the Muslims themselves. There are both historical and modern influences that might clarify this
misconception of Islam within certain rings in the West. One should start with the fact that Islam,
represented historically as the Ottoman Empire man Empire, occupied parts of Europe, which had
certainly not occurred to European civilization before. Then there were the Crusades, which was
Christendom attempting to, I believe, execute and impose its religion upon the Middle East. I
deliberately use the phrase Middle East, as the Crusades did not just impact the Muslim population;
the Jews were also in a similar position and were victims of this process. Furthermore, according to
specific groups, the Orthodox Christians were victims as well of those circumstances. Therefore, it
was fundamentally Western Christendom that was the driving factor of the Crusades, which extended
throughout centuries and ended in defeat for the powerful Christian leaders. This had an impact on the
psyche of the Western people and influenced their opinion of civilization. Then, of course, you had
colonialism, which affected both sides and created a situation in which the antagonism became even
more serious. After the colonial period, a key factor that arose concerned the economic benefits
represented by oil, which is considered a gold commodity that is most essential to manufacturing and

New York City Financial Crisis Summary
A financial crisis is a circumstance in which the worth of financial establishments or assets plummets
quickly. A financial crisis is frequently related to a panic or a run on the bank. When this occurs,
investors tend to sell assets or associated with a panic or a run on the banks, in which investors sell off
assets or take out money from banking accounts with the anticipation that the value of those assets
will decrease if they stay at a financial institution (Investopedia, 2016). The purpose of this paper is to
provide a summary of the financial crisis of New York City and Orange County.

The opportunities which are available to every unemployed worker in the United States are training
programs, health insurance assistance, and food and emergency aid. With these programs available to
the unemployed in the United States, it is helping put America back to work, and giving people the
opportunity to go back school to be retrained in a new field of work which they didn t have the chance
to do in the past. Since Puerto Rico isn t a state they don t have these programs that assist the
unemployed to help them get back to work, in turn it s causing a big problem for their economy.
The biggest problem for Puerto Rico s economy is the tax incentives for big corporations that establish
operations in Puerto Rico. One of the advantages for a corporation to operate in Puerto Rico is that
they can claim their profits and wages paid up to 60 percent for tax credits, in which does cost the
United States and Puerto Rico billions of dollars each year in tax revenue (U.S. Census, 2003). These
tax breaks they receive do not benefit the local economy; they go elsewhere. As a result of this and
other factors, the United States total spending is $22 Billion dollars each year for federal funds to
stimulate the Puerto Rican economy (Schaefer, 2010).
The unique tax benefits Puerto Rico offers to corporations to establish operations on their island are
very attractive to companies who want to increase their profits. With these tax benefits in place, Puerto

Franz Schubert Essay
FRANZ SCHUBERTMusic Appreciation Section 02 FRANZ SCHUBERT I HAVE COME INTO
THE WORLD FOR NO OTHER PURPOSE BUT TO COMPOSE It was Franz Peter Schubert, who
said to a friend I have come into the world for no other purpose but to compose . For someone to be so
certain, focused and dedicated at such a young age with extraordinary talent and promise, finding out
more about Schubert s life and astonishing music was a must for me. Franz Peter Schubert was bone
in Vienna, on January 31, 1797 to his father, Franz Theodor Schubert and his mother, Elisabeth Vietz.
Because Schubert father was a schoolmaster, he began receiving lessons from his father at an early
age, as early as age five. A year later Schubert was enrolled in his ... Show more content on

In Schubert s Erlking, there is the narrator, father, son, and the Erlking, which is all song by one
person. Because the Erlking is done by one person, that one singer is to deliver each character in its
fitting tone. The frighten child is song in a high register in minor, while the father is sung in a low
register that distinguishes with the high pitched of the son cries, and the Erlking has modest melodies
in major keys. The Goethe s ballad tells a story of a father riding on a horseback through a storm with
his ailing child in his arms, as the child is being followed by the Erlking which denotes death. At the
very beginning of the Erlking, the piano begins with rapid octaves. It is said that the triplet rhythm
unifies the occurrence of the song and suggests that it represent the horse s dash. The narrator then
paints the perfect picture so that you are able to perceive this wild late ride as the farther holds his
unwell son so tight and closely to him. As the Goethe ballad continues the son cries out to his father,
my father in a forte tone to inform him of the Erlking and his presents. The father, who uses a lower
register tone, try to consol the boy and keep him calm by suggesting that the Erlking is a streak of mist
and the whispering promises from the Erlking was only wind rustling in the dead leaves. After the son
cried out for the last time to his father even louder than before, My father, my father, now he is taking
hold of me! The Erlking has hurt me!

Twelfth Night- Literature Cape Unit !
Twelfth Night Criticism
William Shakespeare and The Twelfth Night
Known for his tragedies, comedies, sonnets and love stories, William Shakespeare is argued to be one
of the best writers of his time. Throughout his plays, including The Twelfth Night, he uses disguise
and deceit to fool the other characters to benefit another. Shakespeare was born in April of 1564 in the
town Stratford upon Avon. Although the exact date of his birth is not known, historians traditionally
celebrate it on the 23rd. He was one of eight children born to John Shakespeare, a well known
merchant in his community. Not much is known about his Mother, or of his schooling. It is said that
Shakespeare probably attended the King s New School in Stratford, but had no ... Show more content

Was not this love indeed? (II.iv.111 114)
The audience, like Orsino, can only answer with an emphatic yes.
Viola s chief problem throughout the play is one of identity. Because of her disguise, she must be both
herself and Cesario. This mounting identity crisis culminates in the final scene, when Viola finds
herself surrounded by people who each have a different idea of who she is and are unaware of who she
actually is. Were Twelfth Night not a comedy, this pressure might cause Viola to break down.
Sebastian s appearance at this point, however, effectively saves Viola by allowing her to be herself
again. Sebastian, who independent of his sister is not much of a character, takes over the aspects of
Viola s disguise that she no longer wishes to maintain. Thus liberated by her brother, Viola is free to
shed the roles that she has accumulated throughout the play, and she can return to being Viola, the
woman who has loved and won Orsino.
Orsino and Olivia
Orsino and Olivia are worth discussing together, because they have similar personalities. Both claim
to be buffeted by strong emotions, but both ultimately seem to be self indulgent individuals who enjoy
melodrama and self involvement more than anything. When we first meet them, Orsino is pining away
for love of Olivia, while Olivia pines away for her dead brother. They show no interest in relating to
the outside world,

Overgrown Woods Monologue
Deep in the overgrown woods of the Ebony Forest, where the trees are as dark as the night sky
currently above it, a small light flickers into the shadows as a lone figure sits down in the dirt, his back
to a tree, with a small contraption that produces a small flame from the end. The figure pulls the hood
of his cobalt blue robe down a little further as a strong gust of wind blows by; not only causing him to
shiver, but for his small flame to go out as well. Letting out a small gasp, he clicks a button on the side
of his strange device a few times, making it produce a few sparks, but no flame. He looks down at the
pile of sticks and dead leaves he was trying to light before clenching his fist around the contraption
and throwing it into the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Nativist McLaughlin (1984) claims that children whose ages are from two to six, can develop their language competences naturally, so at the time they start their formal education process, they have already mastered them. The author states that during these ages, children are so curious that they start creating and experimenting with language. She also affirms that second language acquisition takes place when children s listening and speaking skills have been well established in their mother tongue before being exposed to a second one. In the second stage, children start creating their own sentences in the second language. It is a period where teachers need to be aware of each child s language development to provide not only timely feedback, but also to praise and support them along the process. Finally in the last stage, children start employing the new linguistic code with a more accurate pronunciation, lexical and grammatical use. Until one day on the bus, my neighbor told me that he had a Wii. I had seen commercials for it, and it looked fun. Originally I never wanted one because it was so expensive. That night when I went over to his house, my life would never be the same. Later that day I went over to his house. Ordinarily we run around, shoot each other with face guns, and do other things like that. I was getting antsy though, so we went inside after only 45 minutes. We got inside and then I saw it, the white Wii sitting on the entertainment center next to the TV. What games do you have? I asked. The only game I have is Mario Kart, he replied, so that is what we played. Since I had never played it before I was terrible. Three games in a row, I got 12th out of 12. After, about an hour of playing I started to notice that I was passing the computers (other racers) and getting 7th 4th place on average. Nevertheless, I soon had to leave, but I was much better than when I started. Besides having so much fun on the Wii, I rarely got to play on it. I had played on it here and there, but not a lot. I kept asking my parents for a Wii, they only said no, but then when it got closer to Christmas they started to tantalize me by answering with maybe for Christmas. That got me very excited. • 11. The Concept of Advanced Civilization Led to the European... During the European conquests of the 16th and 17th centuries, the concept of an advanced civilization was essential most of the time. This can be supported by the strategic Spanish conquests, Portuguese exploration, and the Dutch trading empire. To begin with, North and South America, which had existed in isolation for thousands of years, came into contact with the rest of the world via the Italian explorer, Christopher Columbus. In 1492, he was sent by Spain to look for a route to India. Rather, Columbus came into contact with a Caribbean island. As the gold covered ruler agreed, he was immediately stripped of his gold headband and one blast of his cannon and small army slaughtered the Inca warriors 50,000. Atuhualpa tried to free himself by offering a 17ft by 22ft by 9ft room of gold. The Spanish took the offer, but still murdered Atuahulpa to show that they could not be trusted so that others would abide by their rule. The contact between the Americas and the Old World began biological exchange of animals and foods which greatly benefited trade. Additionally, Vasco de Gama was a Portuguese explorer who discovered an ocean route to India, in 1498, by going under the tip of Africa, or Cape of Good Hope. This way avoided conflicts with the Ottoman Turks and led one directly into the fast moving currents of the Indian Ocean. This plan was carefully devised by skilled Portuguese mapmakers and navigators. Since this way was known, many rulers such as the Sultan of Manindi, offered the Portugese captain a pilot to guide his ships to trade for spices, gems, and fine (cotton, paper, porcelain, silk, glass, carpets) textiles. The outward appearance of Roger Chillingworth is one of the most distinct in the entire novel, even going as far as giving a glance into his future. When first introduced to Chillingworth, he is a quiet astute individual that is described multiple times as inquisitive and observant, traits that are red flags for a character searching for something. • 19. The And The Digestive System Of The Broiler Chickens Essay Abstract Due to the rapid growth of broiler chickens, skeletal disorders have become a serious problem for the poultry industry. This, in turn, leads to an unwanted expense for poultry farmers and so they seek out a way to improve the bone strength and welfare of the birds. Silicon (Si) is an important element to the body as it can improve bones and the immune system. This means it can be used in diets as a cheaper alternative to calcium and phosphorous. However, there is little understanding of the mechanisms of Si in the digestive system of the broiler chickens. At NTU, a bioavailable silicon supplement has been produced to alleviate some of the skeletal disorders and to further the knowledge of the interactions of Si. This project involves analysing bone data and evaluating the effects of the novel feed supplement. Introduction Skeletal disorders in broiler chickens has become a major problem for the poultry industry over the past 50 years (Toby G. Knowles, 2008). These weaknesses are due to selective breeding of the birds which has shown to be less economical than expected for the industry and also displays an absence for bird welfare (Bennett, Christiansen, Clifton Hadley). The pace at which the birds grow has dramatically increased over the years to accommodate the demand for the tender meat they now produce (Manohar, Omprakash, Kanagaraju, 2015). Contaminated food products such as pork, meat, milk, fruits, vegetables, egg and egg products are the common vehicles of Salmonella infections (Hur et al., 2012). It is estimated that gastric illness caused by Salmonella spp. accounts for 93.8 million cases and 155,000 deaths worldwide each year (Majowicz et al., 2010). Several intervention strategies have been implemented on a worldwide scale to reduce the risk of Salmonella contamination and has been discussed in the literature review. However, emergence of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) strains of Salmonella, egg contamination, biofilm formation and the decreased susceptibility of Salmonella biofilms to commonly used antimicrobials are the major obstacles in this journey. In spite of this, it is vital that studies concerning Salmonella must ensure the effective prevention and control of this zoonotic pathogen. Since 1970, there have been 2,608 attacks and 226 fatal attacks up until 2011 (3). In 1867, the development of dynamite contributed to increasing terrorism, and radicals have used explosives to bring attention to political issues within the country. There are both historical and modern influences that might clarify this misconception of Islam within certain rings in the West. One should start with the fact that Islam, represented historically as the Ottoman Empire man Empire, occupied parts of Europe, which had certainly not occurred to European civilization before. Then there were the Crusades, which was Christendom attempting to, I believe, execute and impose its religion upon the Middle East. I deliberately use the phrase Middle East, as the Crusades did not just impact the Muslim population; the Jews were also in a similar position and were victims of this process. Furthermore, according to specific groups, the Orthodox Christians were victims as well of those circumstances. Therefore, it was fundamentally Western Christendom that was the driving factor of the Crusades, which extended throughout centuries and ended in defeat for the powerful Christian leaders. This had an impact on the psyche of the Western people and influenced their opinion of civilization. Then, of course, you had colonialism, which affected both sides and created a situation in which the antagonism became even more serious. The opportunities which are available to every unemployed worker in the United States are training programs, health insurance assistance, and food and emergency aid. With these programs available to the unemployed in the United States, it is helping put America back to work, and giving people the opportunity to go back school to be retrained in a new field of work which they didn t have the chance to do in the past. Since Puerto Rico isn t a state they don t have these programs that assist the unemployed to help them get back to work, in turn it s causing a big problem for their economy. The biggest problem for Puerto Rico s economy is the tax incentives for big corporations that establish operations in Puerto Rico. One of the advantages for a corporation to operate in Puerto Rico is that they can claim their profits and wages paid up to 60 percent for tax credits, in which does cost the United States and Puerto Rico billions of dollars each year in tax revenue (U.S. Census, 2003). These tax breaks they receive do not benefit the local economy; they go elsewhere. As a result of this and other factors, the United States total spending is $22 Billion dollars each year for federal funds to stimulate the Puerto Rican economy (Schaefer, 2010). Because the Erlking is done by one person, that one singer is to deliver each character in its fitting tone. The frighten child is song in a high register in minor, while the father is sung in a low register that distinguishes with the high pitched of the son cries, and the Erlking has modest melodies in major keys. The Goethe s ballad tells a story of a father riding on a horseback through a storm with his ailing child in his arms, as the child is being followed by the Erlking which denotes death. At the very beginning of the Erlking, the piano begins with rapid octaves. It is said that the triplet rhythm unifies the occurrence of the song and suggests that it represent the horse s dash. The narrator then paints the perfect picture so that you are able to perceive this wild late ride as the farther holds his unwell son so tight and closely to him. As the Goethe ballad continues the son cries out to his father, my father in a forte tone to inform him of the Erlking and his presents. The father, who uses a lower register tone, try to consol the boy and keep him calm by suggesting that the Erlking is a streak of mist and the whispering promises from the Erlking was only wind rustling in the dead leaves. Was not this love indeed? (II.iv.111 114) The audience, like Orsino, can only answer with an emphatic yes. Viola s chief problem throughout the play is one of identity. Because of her disguise, she must be both herself and Cesario. This mounting identity crisis culminates in the final scene, when Viola finds herself surrounded by people who each have a different idea of who she is and are unaware of who she actually is. Were Twelfth Night not a comedy, this pressure might cause Viola to break down. Sebastian s appearance at this point, however, effectively saves Viola by allowing her to be herself again. Sebastian, who independent of his sister is not much of a character, takes over the aspects of Viola s disguise that she no longer wishes to maintain. Thus liberated by her brother, Viola is free to shed the roles that she has accumulated throughout the play, and she can return to being Viola, the woman who has loved and won Orsino. Orsino and Olivia Orsino and Olivia are worth discussing together, because they have similar personalities. Both claim to be buffeted by strong emotions, but both ultimately seem to be self indulgent individuals who enjoy melodrama and self involvement more than anything. When we first meet them, Orsino is pining away for love of Olivia, while Olivia pines away for her dead brother. They show no interest in relating to the outside world, ... The figure pulls the hood of his cobalt blue robe down a little further as a strong gust of wind blows by; not only causing him to shiver, but for his small flame to go out as well. Letting out a small gasp, he clicks a button on the side of his strange device a few times, making it produce a few sparks, but no flame.
