Procedure To prepare for this lab, we must first setup the isolated system. We used various
equipment and tools such as an air track, glider, and a photogate connected to a computer. The
isolated system comprises of a glider on an airtrack being pulled by a falling object. We then
measured for the mass of the object being dropped (m= 20 g +/ 0.2 g). Additionally, the massof the
glider and its delta values were provided for us (M= 283.2 g +/ 1.0 g). We also measured for the
distance of ten intervals of pickets aligned with the air glider (10d= 25.4 cm, d= 2.54 cm). To
calculate for the d using the formula [E.1] from Lab 0 (О”ax=aО”x, d=0.0254 m +/ 0.0001 m).

In this lab, we have explored the concept of the conservation of energy through the use of an
isolated system. Tools such as a glider upon an air track with negligible friction allowed us to
mimic an ideal isolated system. Using the values we measured for (velocity, time, and distance)
we can see the application of conservation of energy through the transfer of the potential energy
of the small mass to the kinetic energy of moving glider. In the graph (О”PE vs. KE), our value (
1.197 +/ 0.05916) is not entirely consistent to the expected value of 1. Furthermore, in the graph
for velocity vs. time plot, our value of 0.5067 m/s2 +/ 0.01709 m/s2 is not consistent with the
calculated expected value of 0.646 m/s2. The probable cause of these slight inconsistencies with
the our expected values is the unbalanced dropping of the small mass during the experiment. To

In seeking to understand the Supreme Court s judgement in Leegin, two questions immediately
come to mind. Firstly, why would the manufacturer seek to establish a minimum retail price for its
product? Secondly, what are the consequences for consumer welfare, if the manufacturer succeeds
in maintaining a higher retail price?. The first part of this paper attempts to answer these questions
whilst deliberating on the majority and minority judgements of the US Supreme Court in Leegin
and the significance of the decision for US federal antitrust law. The second part of this paper

service. Factors such as price, quality, design and customer service on the part of retailers affect the
demand for differentiated consumer goods. Therefore, by assuring resellers that they will not face
discount price competition from other resellers of the same brand, minimum RPM agreements
encourage retailers to invest in services or promotional efforts to sell that brand against competing

The Classification and Rating Administration (CARA) is a purely voluntary system supported
by The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and the National Association of Theatre
Owners (Crecente). The CARA is funded by film distributors and producers who pay a fee to

Promp 2 Liesel Meminger was a girl that went through a lot throughout her life. During our short
time of reading about her life we saw her go through so many emotions, struggles, and different
changes. Throughout The Book Thief by Markus Zusak we see a girls story during the time of
WW2 and the Holocaust. We read this story of Liesel Meminger and wonder how anyone could
ever survive during a time like this, because for most people this was an extremely awful time to
live in. But through his use of imagery, and other literary devices, Zukas found a way to write a
perfect book describing this girl s life and to show how genuinely hard it was to live during this
time. One of the first things we see Liesel going through is the separation of her and her mother.
Which leads to her also losing her brother due to the fact that he died during their journey to

23 April 2014 Abstract Hirudo are well known for their blood sucking, fluid feeding behavior.
The purpose of this experiment was to get a better understanding of Hirudo s blood feeding
behavior; more specifically, the study was designed to answer the question: how do different
volumes of blood affect Hirudo s thirst? By soaking a sponge with different volumes of cow
blood and measuring the time it took for the Hirudo to attach to the blood soaked sponge, the
experiment yielded results that help explain whether or not there was a connection between the
amount of blood available to Hirudo for feeding and the time it takes Hirudo to attach to the
blood source. The experiment was conducted using six Hirudo, with a total of ten different
volumes of blood per sponge (ranging from 1mL to 10mL) and two trials done for each volume
of blood. Data collected from the experiment was analyzed with the SPSS program and found
that differences in attachment time for the various levels of blood in the sponge were significant
at the .05 level. These results explain that Hirudo do in fact take significantly less time to attach to
a blood source containing a higher volume of blood. This information can be helpful for medical
practitioners who use Hirudo as an alternative form of medicine. In nature, these results can also
help explain Hirudo s feeding behavior and how Hirudo utilizes these behaviors for
