WHAT IS HOOTSUITE?
 Hootsuite is a “Social Media Management System”
 Helps you keep track & manage several social network channels.
 Enables you to monitor what people are saying about your brand &
helps you respond instantly.
 You can view streams from multiple networks and post updates or
reply directly.
 It is used largely by digital/social media agencies who handle several
client accounts at one time, easing their work and management.

WHY TO USE HOOTSUITE
 Monitor Multiple Streams in One Place: It acts as a social media
dashboard helping you monitor and manage several platforms in one
place.
 You Have a Team Managing Your Social Media Empire: If your
social media accounts are managed by a team or you’ve outsourced
it, Hootsuite makes it easy for you to stay on top of things.
 Managing Customer Service on Twitter: You can store draft
messages that you can post when you receive a frequently asked
question for example open hours or directions to your business.
WHY TO USE HOOTSUITE
 Security to Avoid Abuse: This can be done through using the
Hootsuite mobile app available on iOS, Blackberry World and Android,
preventing the share of passwords among the team members and at
the same time giving them access to your social networks.
 Weekly Email Reports: Info about number of clicks per day,
geographical info on the people clicking through, top referrers, most
popular links etc.
 You Want to Connect Lots of Services Together: It’s a real time
saver for small businesses wanting to post on several platforms at
once. Also, the scheduling feature helps you save time.
WHY NOT TO USE HOOTSUITE
 Expensive Analytics Reports & the Point System: 2 reports are
free with the free trial version however buying it costs $45 each time.
 Forced to Use Owly Urls: All shortened urls via Hootsuite will be
trademarked with ow.ly making it obvious that you’re using the
software to manage your social media channels.
 Expensive Custom URL Shorteners: However, if you want
personalised urls that greatly help in displaying professionalism, you
will be asked to pay rates as expensive as $50 a month.
WHY NOT TO USE HOOTSUITE
 Facebook Image Problem: Scheduling posts on Facebook with
picture might appear like a tweet rather than a normal post.
 No Data in Facebook Insights: Content posted via Hootsuite is not
tracked by Facebook’s insights. The likes, comments and shares can
be viewed from the front end wall & feeds but the “credit” for getting
them is not recorded by insights.
 Expensive for Teams: The cost increases depending on the number
of users having access to your social media channels. So for a bigger
team of about 11 users you might have to pay upto $18,000 a year.

WHAT IS HOOTSUITE?  Hootsuite is a “Social Media Management System”  Helps you keep track & manage several social network channels.  Enables you to monitor what people are saying about your brand & helps you respond instantly.  You can view streams from multiple networks and post updates or reply directly.  It is used largely by digital/social media agencies who handle several client accounts at one time, easing their work and management.

WHY TO USE HOOTSUITE  Security to Avoid Abuse: This can be done through using the Hootsuite mobile app available on iOS, Blackberry World and Android, preventing the share of passwords among the team members and at the same time giving them access to your social networks.  Weekly Email Reports: Info about number of clicks per day, geographical info on the people clicking through, top referrers, most popular links etc.  You Want to Connect Lots of Services Together: It’s a real time saver for small businesses wanting to post on several platforms at once. Also, the scheduling feature helps you save time.

WHY NOT TO USE HOOTSUITE  Expensive Analytics Reports & the Point System: 2 reports are free with the free trial version however buying it costs $45 each time.  Forced to Use Owly Urls: All shortened urls via Hootsuite will be trademarked with ow.ly making it obvious that you’re using the software to manage your social media channels.  Expensive Custom URL Shorteners: However, if you want personalised urls that greatly help in displaying professionalism, you will be asked to pay rates as expensive as $50 a month.
  • 13. WHY NOT TO USE HOOTSUITE  Facebook Image Problem: Scheduling posts on Facebook with picture might appear like a tweet rather than a normal post.  No Data in Facebook Insights: Content posted via Hootsuite is not tracked by Facebook’s insights. The likes, comments and shares can be viewed from the front end wall & feeds but the “credit” for getting them is not recorded by insights.  Expensive for Teams: The cost increases depending on the number of users having access to your social media channels. So for a bigger team of about 11 users you might have to pay upto $18,000 a year.
