How to set up a great remote team at No Pants festival

  8. I thought on talking about History, IT or Governance. But, behold - will it make difference to a dull day in a developer’s life? No there should be something completely different!
  9. I thought quite a lot on a theoretical example. The one who in best possible way would convey the message of great of team building example.
  10. Finally after much contemplation on the Team building subject I landed on sports and Ice hockey as it’s “type”. My preferred kind - a tough game where the meaning of team spirit is highly embraced.
  11. You don’t have enough talent to win on talent alone. Your values are that determine your position in a team.
  12. He cared about his plan and started recruiting olympics team early - years before the miracle on ice. He embraced winning mentality. He was the first in Northen American hockey who introduced principles on creativity - players moving around the field controlling the puck and passing to others. Also, embracing team chemistry to make a better team than a man.
  13. It resulted in so called “Miracle on Ice”. A phenomenal game where US team won USSR team (at that time unbeaten for more than a decade), where college students kicked the but of experienced players. Vladislav Tretjak - USSR goalie at that time caught Him smiling after this game. “We were happy, cause that was first time different after 15 years all time winning”, he said after the game!
