Psalm 23 Personal Narrative
Today made it 4 months, 4 weeks and 6 hours since we got off the helicopter and landed in this
desert. I was more of a newbie who just got off the parade squad and was handed a rifle and
some piece of encouragements. I remembered that final night before departure and the fun I had
with Sean my best friend and adopted army elder brother. Well, I am Nate or rather 1042 for those
who cared to ask a newbie.
Sean: Hey newbie! He calls me that when he is either drunk or wants to get me mad. Well, tonight
he was a bit tipsy from the words he spoke.
Nate: Sean, can t wait to get out there on the field and make my country proud. I replied ignoring
his newbie taunts.
Sean: You still a kid in the game. I will advise you not to jump in front of a bullet because of this
your zeal. He said laughing as we packed our bags into the waiting room which we nicknamed Hell
passport office.
As we hopped into the waiting military trucks to the cheers of the other soldiers, I felt a sought of
fulfilment. Sean led us in a military styled version Psalm 23. We all recited it with more vigour
and enthusiasm. As we journeyed further into the war zone, gunshot sounds, RPG s and grenades
rented the air. I already had cold feet, and deep down in my mind, I wished it ... Show more content

I couldn t really feel my arms due to all the gun handling and shootings. We retired to sleep while
the other batch took over at the war front. Sean and his friends entertained us with stories from
their past war experiences before we all fell asleep. The early morning whistling from our troop
commander woke us up from our slumber. Sean and I quickly rinsed our face as we headed out
with the others to receive the instruction for the day. That day, we were to attack the hideouts of
the terrorist in the main city. Sean and I were assigned to the same team which at least made me
happy. We boarded the bus that was to take us to the town as we waved goodbye to the other troop

Writings And Techniques In Slam By Walter Dean Myers
Slam by Walter Dean Myers is a book that shows a collection of styles of writings, and different
techniques used by the author. There were many great characters in the book, also. This book is
about a seventeen year old boy named Greg, who revolves around the game of basketball. He
lives in Harlem and attends the prestigious magnet school Latimer in the South Bronx, which is
predominantly white. He leads the school to great wins, even his former school. His best friend
Ice starts to sell drugs, so they drift apart. When his grandmother got sick, his assistant coach
became a fatherly mentor to him. He expresses that the game of life can either be won, or it can
be lost. Greg Slam Harris plays a major role in this novel. Not only is he the main character, but
he also learns life lessons along the way. Slam is the type of character that are round and dynamic,
because of all his different traits. He is tall, strong, and athletic. Like he says in the... Show more

He is Greg s best friend before things trended downhill. Ice is the type of character that is static
and dynamic, due to his emotions and beliefs stay the same. When he is not around Greg, he
does not have the best morals. He contributes the story major, because he showed Greg how his
best friend ruined his whole life just to make a little extra money by selling drugs. This quote
explains his life, How I m going to blow with all my people around me?...I know when I feel
some real love around me (Chapter 14). They were great friends, but when the drug dealers come
into your life, you just have to turn the other cheek. Ice is a realistic character, because he has
emotions. It had to hurt him when he lost Slam, because of drugs. He contributes to the main
conflict of the story, too. While he was selling drugs, it probably tempted Slam. Slam probably
knew what was at stake for him though. He is a symbol that shows you should not sell drugs,
because it can ruin

Mentally Disabled In The Film I Am Sam
In the movie I Am Sam Sam faces many challenges with being mentally disabled. He is left alone
on the curb side with his new baby and has no idea what to do. That would be a challenge for any
human let alone someone with a mental disability. He is faced with all sorts of challenges with
Lucy, life and the law but I believe he is able to overcome all of this with the help of his friends
and will be able to give Lucy the care she needs. With his loving friends, his caring attorney and the
understanding foster family, Lucy will be able to live a happy and loving life with Sam as her father.
Sam, as far as the movie goes back, it shows him having a great group of friends. He has about 7 or
8 guys that are similar to him that all lovehim. They have a series of week nights where they all go
out and have fun like movie night, pizza night, IHOP breakfast and more. But that just shows how
they bond together without Lucy. But when Lucy comes along there group bond doesn t stop. I
would even say it grew. When Sam was planning the nice birthday party for her , his... Show more

Analysis Of Sunsets And Sunsets
In the poems, She sweeps with many Colored Brooms , by Emily Dickenson, and Sunsets , by Carl
Sandburg; the authors compare sunset to women. The beauty of sunset is the central in both poems
however, they each contain different ideas about sunset. For example, Dickenson, focuses more on
the beauty of sunsetwhile, Sandburg, compares a sunset to a womans demeanor, and brings out the
different kinds of ways the sunsets. In the poem, by Emily Dickenson she compares sunset to a
housewife. The poem cites She sweeps with many colored brooms [line 1 2], the quote is
portraying the true beauty of a housewife s chores. It is also indirectly referring to the rays of a
sunset. A diligent woman sews her own beautiful garments. She uses all different colors and
types of thread to sew each of her garments. The colorfulness of the thread can compare to a
magnificent sunset. The poem quotes, And now you ve littered all the East, with duds of
emerald! [line 7 8]. Literarily, this is referring to the threads and clothes that litter a woman s
home. However, Dickenson is referring to the sun setting east, and shining its glow onto the
world. The author, uses emerald to portray this beautiful scene since, emerald is a considered a
beautiful stone. In the poem Sunsets , by Carl Sandburg, he compares a woman s demeanor to
sunset. A woman naturally carries a major role in life, and is also considered a symbol of beauty
and elegance. The poem states Ribbon at the ears, sashes at

The Lords And The Mill Girls Summary
In Maury Klein s. The Lords and the Mill Girls, industrialization is attempting to rid itself of the
horrible standards adhered to at most European and other New England factories through the
endeavor of the Lowell Mills. The Associates, who open the Lowell mills, attempt to create an
atmosphere which is the best of both worlds. They want to create profit, but don t want to abandon
their virtues and principles by creating an industrial district which, degraded workers and blighted
the landscape (Klein). The key to their success is their working population. They seek civilized
workers, who save money, attend church, and adhere to the pious principles of religion and
culture(Klein). They find their laborers in women of the New England farmers,

Summary Of 1950 V. Gordon Childe
In 1950, V. Gordon Childe had an article titled The Urban Revolution published in The Town
Planning Review. In this article, Childe wrote about ten characteristics that he defined as central to
the formation of a civilization. Later, these would later be separated into five primary and five
secondary characteristics by Charles Redman of Arizona State University. These characteristics are
considered by (Childe 1950:16) to have exhaust(ed) the factors common to the oldest cities.
Simplified by (Price and Feinman 2013) they include, dense populations (cities), full time
specialized labor, organization of the state, social stratification, concentrations of surplus,

Using the term road is perhaps a bit of an overstatement, typically the road was little more than a
well beaten path and they generally were narrow, ranging from three to fifty two feet wide at
any given point (Price and Feinman 2013:409). These roads also covered vastly different terrain,
roads were present at both the top of the Andes Mountain range, and also on the coast of what is
now Peru, Bolivia, and Argentina (Karam 2001). It is unclear whether the Inca forged every path
entirely on their own, or if they simply acquired them through conquest of other natives. According
to (Karam 2001:355 357) one thing is certain however, and that is that the Inca were the ones to
assemble the roads into a single network and subsequently maintained them. The Tampu were
perhaps the most important administrative institution created by the Inca alone and they would
certainly be considered innovative by any European society of the same era. Not only did they
serve practical purposes for government functions, but they were also symbolic of Inca dominance
in the region. Tampu were way stations spaced about a day s walk between themselves and were
home to storehouses, barracks, and official government records. Inca subject populations located
nearest to a Tampu were responsible for keeping it stocked with food so that royal

Katherine s Speech In Taming Of The Shrew
The ambiguity of whether Katherine s final speech is authentic, in which she apparently proclaims
and promulgates female submissiveness, has been thought to define the tone of versions of Taming
of the Shrew. However, the attitudes evoked by the monologue can also indicate values of society
at the times which the play is presented. Generally, four main theories have emerged regarding the
true intent behind Katherine s speech (Wikipedia, 2017):
It is sincere and Katherine has been successfully tamed .
It is sincere, but because Katherine has fallen in love with Petruchio.
It is ironic and is deceiving Petruchio by parroting a socially acceptable, totally impersonal
catalogue of honours a wife owes her husband (De Wachter, 2016).
It is neither, following the farcical disposition of the play within a play framing device.
Up until the 20th century, most of the last speeches by Katherine have adhered with the first option,
including the traditional Globe Theatre adaptation. Katherine s acting in the Globe Theatre
production, grounded in her facial expressions and tone of voice, shows sincerity and truthfulness
in her declaration (V.ii). On the basis of this portrayal, it could be said that in a historical
Elizabethan context, audiences would have accepted and deemed the domestication mechanisms
and taming practises employed by Petruchio as normal. In contrast, in a modern Western society
holding relatively egalitarian views on gender , interpretations of Katherine s address

My First Certificate Course Of Computer Science
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The computer technology has ushered in a revolution that is unprecedented in its sweep. Its effect
on the everyday lives of ordinary people has been phenomenal. Right from the super satellite control
stations to the grocer s shop, the multinational company and the busy kitchen in the home this
technology is all pervasive, all consuming. This is what makes it one of the most challenging fields
as it not only meets needs but has the power to create new needs, rules and total environments of its
own.
I completed my first certificate course in computers in 1995, it was on GWBASIC language. Since
then, computers became a curiosity for me. Due to financial problems at home back then, I could
not take admission in an undergraduate course of computer engineering. Therefore, I joined
Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc.) course with major in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. In
the second year of graduation, I decided to take admission in Master degree course in Computer
Science (MCA). MCA is a three year rigorous course that specializes in computer science. During
MCA, subjects like Discrete Mathematics, C programming, OOPS and C++, Operating Systems,
Numerical Methods, Software Engineering, Databases etc. were my area of focus.
The last semester of MCA was internship program with sumIT Infosoft P Ltd, where I developed
a web based bidding system for one of the clients. Here, I got real exposure to the world of
software. The internship program helped me to

Separation From Britain By Thomas Paine
Separation from Britain was a brilliant alternative route by the Second Continental Congress, and
their supporters, the patriots, they were not submissive to the Britain tyrannical reigning. However,
there are many online article, books, and credible websites that support the idea of America
remaining with the British for commercial and military purposes. But the delegates in the Second
Continental Congress, for example, John Dickson, George read, and many other colony
representatives, gained an opening in seceding from the British Crown. Since the American
RevolutionWar already began before the Second Continental Congress met, delegates wanted to
raise a stronger army and weapon to counter the Crown forces. Additionally, an English... Show

These arrangements from the Crown evoked in American political pundits and the American
people into calling for separation, made the colonies aggravated and invigorated into revolting
against the Crown. One example of the British ruler harsh engagements was from King George
the Third who fired artillery at the one of the colonies which was Boston and its people because
of the many political activist groups who refuse to abide into paying direct taxes for British tea,
and some members of the Son of Liberty invoking threats towards British officials input in the
colonies for tax collecting. Overall, there are many advantages for the colonies to fight for
individuality, in many aspects colonies who separate from the Britain have many upcoming
reimbursements and advantage by leaving British control. America s autonomy has many issues,
but one of the problems has been solved by colonist that Britain cloud not solve very well like
religious toleration and separation from church and state. In the mid 1600 century, Europe was
subjugated by Christian principles. The colonies, mainly people in Massachusetts, were refugees
escaping Britain s persecution, which were the Puritan. The Puritans and their government system

Choosing Favorite Beatles Songs
Choosing favorite Beatles songs is a bit like choosing a favorite child, it s damn near. They put
out four psychedelic albums (if you count Yellow Submarine, which I m not), and three post
psychedelic albums. In the 8 years they recorded, they released 12 studio albums, not counting the
US releases as many of those were compilation records. To be honest, I was never a huge fan of the
mop tops era Beatles and songs like I Want to Hold Your Hand and She Loves You. However, I did
include a few from that time period. I would love to hear your top 10 to see if we match up at all.
Number Ten: All You Need Is Love. Written after only two weeks after the release of Sgt. Pepper,
All You Need Is Love was specifically written for the first satellite hookup between 25 countries
called Our World. The song boasted an optimistic vibe during the summer of love in 1967. The
song featured many prominent artists singing on the chorus. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards,
Marianne Faithful, and Eric Clapton were just a few of the talents who appeared on the recording.
The track also included many guest musicians playing everything from violin to trumpet. The
Beatles themselves played unconventional instruments: Lennon on harpsichord, McCartney on
double bass and Harrison on violin. The track was made available on Magical Mystery Tour and
Yellow Submarine.
Number Nine: In My Life. Again, Lennon credits Bob Dylan as well as journalist Kenneth Allsop

The Pros And Cons Of Natural Resources
A Corporation can be defined as a legal creation, however the corporation itself, would only exist
on a piece of paper. A corporation will never die a natural death like humans die naturally, and
corporations will always outlive the individual who created it. With that said, the corporation itself
is never really committed to any employee or committed to any neighbor. However, a corporation
can always demand employees, a corporation can always demand taxes that are extremely high,
and a corporation can also restrict environmental laws. Corporations hold a great deal of power
in today s society. History has explained the fact that at one point in time, the earth s natural
resources had no limit. Raw materials were plenty, because of the fact that there were plenty of
natural resources to go around. Natural resources can be identified as the raw materials that
comes from the earth and are useful. Natural resources can never be made by humans. Athough,
these raw materials can be modified, or altered to benefit corporations and businesses. For
example, natural resources are fossil fuels like petroleum, natural gas, and coal. Minerals like
diamonds, gold, and copper are natural resources that come from the earth. Other resources are
known as natural vegetation, like forests and timber. Animals are our earth s natural resources as
well, like salmon, deer, whales, chickens, etc. The air we breathe, and the wind are all also natural
resources. Water, like lakes, rivers and

Watergate Vs. Kwamegate Scandal
Political leaders will always be talked about no matter what kind of world we are living in. The
way they are talked about in the media, however, can make or break their careers as leaders of
our country. President Nixon most likely did not want to go down as the president that was apart
of one of the biggest political scandals the country has ever seen, and Kwame Kilpatrick did not
want to be seen as the mayor that lead to the city of Detroit filing for bankruptcy in 2013. Not
everyone gets their way, unfortunately, and these two politicians will most likely go down as the
most corrupt leaders in the areas of their jurisdictions. The Watergate and Kwamegate scandals have

Deuteronomy Controversy
As we all know, Moses was perhaps one of the most influential characters in the Bible. With this
being said, Deuteronomy has become an interesting book to study in the Bible. During this
particular book, Moses is delivering the final speeches to the Israelites before they enter the
Promised Land. However, there has been a lot of controversy with the placement of Deuteronomy.
If we take a look at the book Numbers, the Israelitesare poised to enter the Promised Land. In the
beginning of Joshua, they follow through with this action. Also, there are many scholars believe
that the speeches of Moseswere written at a later time and then put back into his mouth. We can
understand all of these questions through the documentary hypothesis and the... Show more content

The constitutional model is slightly different than the documentary hypothesis. By definition, the
constitutional model is the idea that the bible was once sacred document that has been modified
and changed over time. However, while this serves as legitimate source for how the Bible came
to be, it also contains fallacies. If we look at the book of Deuteronomy as an entirety, the amount
of authors it took to write debunks the idea of how it was one sacred document. Yes, the Bible has
been edited many times over the course of history, but it was never a single sacred document. The
Bible took years to complete and even after the writings were finished, there were many editors that
came together to put all the writings in their necessary places. With this being said, there are too
many inconsistencies within the constitutional model. Deuteronomy serves as a perfectly due to its
placement. While the speeches of Moses may be sacred, the placement of Deuteronomy
demonstrates that the constitutional method is not entirely correct. Moses was not the only author
of this book and his speeches could have easily been included in the book of Joshua or Numbers.
Overall, the constitutional method does make a valid case, but I believe it does not serve as a
convincing source to understand the many questions of

People with high powered jobs in the course of their professional or business occupation include
bribery and corruption, tax evasion and embezzling funds and other types of fraud. These
crimes go unreported because these people are not under scrutiny or are not being observed
because they have the authority no one is above them. In addition, these crimes are dealt with in
a different way. Rather than being handed to the policing authorities to be prosecuted in court,
they are sacked, and their professional title would be striped of their possession. An example of
White collar crime would be of the American company Enron. Enron grew unexpectedly to be
America s 7th largest company, employing 21,000 members of staff in more than 40 countries.
The firm s success was later to be explained by an elaborate scam. Enron had deceived their
employees about their profits and stands accuse of a range of inexplicit deals, including concealing
debts. More than six moths after a criminal inquiry was announced, the guilty parties have still not

This means that crime statistics provide evidence that the middle and upper classes are

The Bottled Water Problem
The Bottled Water Problem
Introduction
Most of Americans today prefer drinking from bottled water other than regular tap water. Bottled
water is definitely more efficient and more reliable than tap water in many ways because it is
easy to carry around. The problem with bottled water is that even though it is very easy to carry
around, it is also very easy to dispose of. According to the International Bottled WaterAssociation,
the consumption increased 4.1 percent in 2011 alone. Furthermore, a report by the Earth Policy
Institute (EPI) says that the consumption of bottled water doubled worldwide between 1999 and
2004. People throw away the bottled water so easily and the plastic that it is made of has many
chemicals that can hurt the environment. The Bottled Water: Friend or Foe article says Bottled
water also damages the environment because the bottles become unnecessary garbage and require
large quantities of energy to be produced. There is two types of chemicals that are harmful,
phthalates and biphenyl A, they are mainly used to make the plastic flexible. Bottled water is
damaging to the environment, has many health risks, and is a waste of fossil fuels that can be used
for something else more important than just making simple bottles to contain water.
Chemicals in Bottled Water The United States health department is always looking for ways to
improve health across the nations for the citizens to have healthier lives. Many medicines and

She Ain T Right Essay
The happiest, most exciting memories I hold on to are often accompanied by a country song,
whether it be playing in the background, or roaring over the speakers. Songs are written for
people to feel and relate to the emotion the songwriter and singer put behind the lyrics. Growing
up having my dad be my role model and most influential person in my life, I often find myself in
things that remind me of him or our memories, along with songs that describe a girl who is
fearless and lives on the edge at times, as if there are no consequences. For me, this is especially
true listening to the song She Ain t Right, by Lee Brice, which highlights my personality and
strength I got from my dad, my sense of fearlessness, and my constant seeking out of adventure.
Growing up, I was, and am, my dad s little sidekick. We are best friends. Naturally, being such a
daddy s girl, I picked up his habits, which include being expressive via curse words and not filtering

Comparing Poems My Last Duchess And Porphyria s Lover
Robert Browning, a Victorian poet, is well known for his use of dramatic monologue. Robert
Browning use of dramatic monologue in his poems, Porphyria s Lover and My Last Duchess
separates the speaker from the poet and allows the reader to use the speaker s words to uncover
Browning s actual meaning (Greenblatt 1275). By using the dramatic monologue, in his poems
Porphyria s Lover and My Last Duchess, Browning depicts the gender roles of the patriarchal
society as seen during the Victorian era.
As stated before, the Victorian era was a patriarchal society. A patriarchal society is a society in
which men have all of the power and women have little to none. In the Victorian society, women
had no rights or freedoms. They were often seen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, right away the reader can see similarities between the Duchess in My Last
Duchess, and the victims of honor killings seen in the Middle East. An honor killing occurs
when a member of the family is murdered in order to restore honor to the family. According to
Micah Issitt the honor killing of women is often related to sexual behavior, and many cases
occur when women refuse to engage in arranged or forced marriages or if they engage in sexual
behavior that violates accepted cultural norms (Honor Killings: An Overview). The Duke in a
way committed an honor killing by murdering the Duchess. He felt that his wife did not give
him the respect or the appreciation he deserved for marrying her. He does not understand her
actions, as if she ranked / My gift of a nine hundred years old name / With anybody s gift
(Browning 1283). The Duke believed that he gave the Duchess a gift by marrying her and by not
respecting him she dishonored his family name. In turn, when he murdered her in a symbolic way
he gained his honor back. Furthermore, In Robert Browning s poem Porphyria s Lover, Porphyria
trusting nature, similarly to that of a damsel in distress, is what causes her to become the victim of
murder. In this context, Porphyria can be compared to Snow White. Snow White s trusting nature is
what allows her to eat the poisonous apple from

Cognitive Neuroscience Personal Statement
Growing up I was always underestimated by the people around me. It wasn t until late highschool
until I started doing well in school, which is where my motivation to prove people wrong fueled
my efforts to succeed. College was when I started to take pride in my achievements. I started with a
major in Psychology, where courses like Cognition, Biopsychology and Cognitive Neuroscience
really caught my attention and fascinated me. Cognitive Neuroscience was one of my favorite
courses because we reviewed case studies of patients with neurological damage to see how brain
mechanisms underlying cognition were altered. I ll never forget learning about how damage to
Broca s Area impacted generation of articulate speech. I was so interested in learning about higher
cognitive processes such as pattern recognition, memory and consciousness. Classes like these led
into picking up an additional major in Cognitive Science, which has given me perspective on human
perception, thinking and learning. The diversity in criteria in the Cognitive Science program caused
me to become an extremely well rounded student, incorporating the studies of Philosophy,

Psychology is something that I am passionate about, and there was no greater feeling than having
more students come into my review session relative to the previous one. I felt that I was the bridge
between the professor and her students, being able to tackle questions that students were confused
about by breaking down complex information and presenting examples to make topics more
understandable to my peers. I loved that throughout this process I was strengthening my own
understanding of the material. This was something that I found myself excelling in, and this

Purpose Of Child Discipline
Everyone knows the purpose of child discipline. Parents need to set boundaries for their children
and punish them when they cross the line. Children who do not have these boundaries set for
them grow up with no respect for authority, and likely little to no respect for God. That s why
discipline is important. Proverbs 13:24, He who spares the rod Hates his son, but he who loves
him is diligent to disciplinehim. The Bibleclearly says that if someone loves their child they will
discipline them. Hebrews 12:11, For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant,
but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. The
Bible says that discipline is painful in the moment but good things will come from it. God is
quick to discipline us and he loves us more that anyone in this world. So, showing good discipline
isn t an action of hate (as some people think today) it is an action of love. Proverbs 23:13 14, Do not
withhold discipline from a child; if you strike him with a rod, he will not die. If you strike him with
the rod, you will save his soul from Sheol. The Bible says here that discipline will not kill a child
but will save the child s soul. Proverbs 22:6, Train up a child in the way he should go; even
when he is old he will not depart from it. Here the Bible says that if you train and discipline a
child early is life they will remember is forever. Whether someone is a Christian or not, they can

Literary Devices In Those Winter Sundays
Relationships between children and their parents can be complex. Often, once the child grows
up, they begin to have a greater understanding and are able to reflect on those relationships. In the
poem, Those Winter Sundays, Robert Hayden writes of a son looking back on his relationship
with his father and it s complexity. Their intricate relationship comes from the son feeling guilt
about how unaware he was of everything his father did and how blinded he was by his childish
judgments. Using details to look back on childhood, sound devices to show a masked feeling and
repetition of the word cold to elaborate on the emotional distance the father shows, the speaker
portrays his seemingly strict, yet caring father and an unknowing and indifferent... Show more

This begins with the first cold (Hayden 2) depicting a father constantly trying to do what s right for
his family and having to deal with a son who s unappreciative and constantly giving him the cold
shoulder because he can only see what shows up before him, unable to see past the wall of ice.
In the second stanza the word cold is compiled with onomatopoeia so the reader can almost hear
the sound of coldness, hear the cold splintering, breaking (Hayden 6). This signifies the son
chipping away at the ice before him and seeing past his father s rough exterior to every small
sacrifice he has done for his family. To end everything the use of the word cold (Hayden 11)
symbolizes him breaking through and driving out every piece of hostile ice blocking the view
of his true father. Once removed, he saw a man who worked hard every single day did everything
he knew how to for his family and his son. Reflecting, he asks What did I know, what did I know
/ of love s austere and lonely offices (Hayden 14)? Love was a part of everything his father did
and worked for. As a child, he only saw the side of his father that struggled to show his love
through typical words and expressions leaving him heavy with guilt. He is now unable to thank his
father for everything because what did he know of the love of a father to his

Advertisements are important to get the brand s name known, so they can sell products and make

people do not know about their brand then they probably would not buy it. Advertisements are used
to convince people that their product is worth spending money on. The advertisement I will be

that the company feels not enough people are buying this brand of tampons due to the many
other brands that sell similar products. Because of this, the purpose of this advertisement is to
get more people to buy their tampons over the many other companies. When flipping through the
magazine this ad is located in the first thing I noticed was the cliff view overlooking the water.
The way it captured my attention was what the marketers meant for it to do. The beautiful scene

in long running industrial disputes between its management and crew members in 2009 2011.

change, explain market (rising fuel costs etc.)
British Airways is the UK s largest airline. Since becoming privatized in 1987, BA has continued to
grow despite increased competition (Connell amp; Williamson, 2011).
The UK s economic climate had a large influence to why the British Airways industrial occurred.

The unfreezing phase (Lewin s model) of this change was a gradual, drawn out process.
Time:
As this was not a company in crisis there wasn t a need to implement change reactively, British
Airways had time to achieve their long term strategy.
Scope:
British Airways did not require a transformation of the organisation as a whole. A realignment of
the cabin crew s operations and wage structure was the desired scope for this change. However, due
to the industrial action taken by Unite the change had an impact organisation wide.
Preservation:
It is important that BA preserves what makes British Airways, British Airways. This means they
need to retain their brand identity, because this is one of their biggest selling points. It is also
important to not destroy the business heritage and culture.
Job security for the remaining cabin crew will be at an all time low. Key members of staff need to
be reassured of their position so that BA doesn t lose these assets to competitors.
Diversity:
The change should not affect diversity between divisions. This means that the culture should
remain consistent throughout BA, from pilots, to cabin crew, to administration staff.
Capability:
The individual within the cabin crew will need to be capable of adapting to the new operational
requirements and be able to accept the change in

Importance Of Patient Centered Care In Pharmacy
Patient centered care is something I think should ve been a part of the pharmacy field since
pharmacy has started though, it was to a different extent. Patient centered care for me is to mold
/modify a treatment plan according to the patient s needs and to consider them in the treatment plan
when making one up. Most doctors are likely to just tell the patient what their condition is and what
they should take and just tell them what they need to know instead of asking them questions like
what are some complications they have been facing while they are following the treatment plan and
addressing them. I think it s important to have patient centered care because then the patient is
more likely to trust their doctorand are willing to follow their plan even if it is uncomfortable to
them.
During my IPPE, my preceptor asked me a question, why would a patient follow through their
medication regimen? I told him, that it s because they believe that the medication will work for
them. After that, he told me trust in their pharmacist is the key. Then, I understood it, that no
matter what the scenario is if the patient is willing to trust their healthcare professional, then they
would be willing to follow their care plan and understand their intentions for them, instead of them
just listening through one ear and out the other. From all of this, the patient gets the most benefit
and it all comes down to patient centered care overall.

The Destruction Of Jerusalem And The Temple
Point #2 The destruction of Jerusalem and the temple in A.D. 70 fulfills Christ s prophecy of
perilous times.
13:
With v. 15 we come to a critical juncture in the discourse. To this point Jesus has referred to
general signs that would characterize the period preceding Israel s collapse. Here in v. 15, though,
he refers to one sign that unmistakably signals that the prophesied destruction is at hand. It would
serve to alert the people of that generation as to the proximity of Jerusalem s ruin. In response to
the question, When will these things be? Jesus now answers When you see . . . (v. 15).
Abomination of Desolation is literally, the abomination that causes desolation. In the OT,
abomination = an object of disgust, hatred, something that causes revulsion; an idolatrous offense
or affront to the true worship of God.
The Abomination of Desolation is referred to 4x in Daniel 8:13; 9:27; 11:31; 12:11. The first and
immediate reference was to the Syrian king Antiochus who ruled over Palestine in 175 65 b.c. He
called himself Theos Epiphanes ( manifest God ) but his enemies called him Epimanes ( madman;
the insane one ).
In 168 b.c. Antiochus Epiphanes slaughtered 40,000 Jews and plundered the temple. He
sacrificed a pig on the altar of burnt offering, sprinkled broth from the unclean flesh all over the
holy grounds as an act of deliberate defilement. He then erected an image of Zeus above the altar.
It was a sacrilege of indescribable proportions indelibly imprinted

Lost Cultural Identity In An Unknown Girl By Moniza Alvi
An Unknown Girl was written by Moniza Alvi after her hand was painted with a peacock picture
by an unknown girl in a local market in India. She is stuck between two cultures and trying to
express her quest for her lost cultural identity. Moniza Alvi moved to England to seek for a better
life with her parents after living in Pakistan for a few months after she was born. Latterly, her
relationship with India became stronger than ever after returning to discover Indian cultureas a part
of her identity that seems to have been forgotten for long.
This poem is written in free verse and the rhythm is fluid, natural like as speech with some rare
rhymes which allows her to flow her thoughts freely. She also uses a variety of techniques to further
emphasize the idea of culture and identity in different ways. Moniza Alvi often uses enjambments
but she does not use punctuation a lot and also does not follow any rules so it makes her poem
seems much livelier. Thus, it creates a sense of nostalgia and makes the tone softer and smoother....

Celebrities Right To Privacy
The Right to Privacy
Many individuals believe that when someone becomes a celebrity , they must give up their
privacy and personal lives. This statement, concluded by several people, is completely incorrect.
Celebrities do not want to give up their freedom or right to privacy when becoming famous,
unfortunately, it is their crazy, obsessive fans who want to know every single detail about what is
happening in that star s, not so secretive, life. They are continuously followed and stalked by
reporters and the paparazzi who never take a day off, leaving celebrities with constant
claustrophobia. Digging into the lives of celebrities and discovering their deepest, darkest secrets, is
simply just entertainment for those interested. Forgetting that those who are famous need privacy
in their lives, is a serious issue in society that is causing many conflicts with celebrities nowadays;
individuals are invading their privacy and not accepting this right, they are making them feel
claustrophobic and watched at all times, and they truly do not care for those who are famous, only
for the entertainment they are creating.
Modern day people continue to ask the following question; Seriously, they get paid loads of cash,
why do they get mad about pictures? The truth, however, is that everyone deserves their privacy,
after all, celebrities are just like everyone else, human beings. Being an actor or actress is an
occupation like any other. There is a difference between taking photos while they re working or
publishing information and taking photos of them with their children, families or friends on their
own time. Imagine being in their position and being watched all the time, while living their life
and sometimes making poor decisions. Everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone s mistakes are
all over social media. People go through rough times when growing up, in order to become the best
version of themselves, but every celebrity is constantly reminded of every bad choice they have
made. Many celebrities including Justin Bieber have been in this type of situation. For instance, in
2012, Bieber was accused of battery by a photographer who claimed he roughed him up and left

Partition Of India Essay
The Partition of India in 1947 was one of the greatest social upheavals. Massive migrations were
chaos as widespread communal violence broke out between the Hindu, Sikh and Muslim
communities. The abduction of women was one form of such violence. This act of violence
against women was not limited to a particular group, every woman was vulnerable to forced
removal from their families, sexual violence rape, mutilation branding, and later, being passed like

their abductors and undergo religious conversions. However, this act of violence did not stop

Hence, in this paper, I have attempted to draw an argument from the oral accounts of some of the
women who experienced abduction and the social workers that worked with them. To reiterate,
abduction did not just entail the removal from the family, but also meant sexual violence, forced
marriage and religious conversion during the violence of the Partition, and after, forcible recovery.
With abduction, these women experienced a great ordeal, which made them more independent
individuals compared to when they were under the patriarchal arrangement of the society. It is not
to say that the arrangement was removed overnight with Partition, but in fact, it was magnified.
Rather, with the loss of a stable and coherent identity overnight, these women needed to reconstruct
their identity independently in order to survive. The stories of resistance against forcible recovery
showed that they did not want to be passive victims of the patriarchal arrangement that were once
again placed on them. Subsequently, these women successfully became independent and made a
life for themselves, moving forward beyond the sad memory. Hence, in speaking about the history
of Partition, it is also to praise and remember these women s individual resilience, reflected in a

The Advantages Of Traditional Education Vs. Online Education
There are a lot of reasons why Traditional education is better. It isn t because it is what we are

Since traditional education means attending face to face classes held at schools, we need to head

and their true power was shown at the Battle of Midway in the Pacific. This battle also showed
how aircraft could use torpedos and take down massive warships successfully. Using aircraft to
transport supplies and troops were now adopted, and paratroopers were starting to be used.
Perhaps the most famous paratrooper mission which was Operation Market Garden, was a
nearly disastrous operation by the Allies in 1944. Huge transport planes such as the JU 52, and
the DC 3 could carry massive loads at decent speed, which was effective for resupplying.
Helicopters were soon developed, but were not really effective during the war. Aircraft played a
vital role in World War 2, and so many advancements and technology changed because of it. In
World War 1 air power was an addition to the war, but it didn t change the outcome of many
important campaigns of the war like World War 2 did. In conlusion, over both of the World Wars
aircraft warfare started from nothing and ended with nuclear bomb droppers and jet engine

What Is Toys R Us Inc File For Bankruptcy
The Holiday season is the most important time of the year for many retail stores, but this year
Toys R Us inc, might be spending it filing for bankruptcy. It s been reported by sources familiar
with this situation, that Toys R Us, American toy retailer founded in 1948, may file for bankruptcy
as soon as early October. The sources reported that the plans for bankruptcy are not certain, and
both plans and timing could change. The filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern
District of Virginia was triggered by vendors and suppliers tightening terms with the company
ahead of the key holiday selling season, which accounted for 40% of its $11.5 billion in revenue
last year. Said Tatyana Shumsky, from the Wall Street Journal. Which

Stuart Mill Eccentricity
In On Liberty, Mill talks about eccentricity and its direct connection to the amount of moral
courage that exists inside of a society. Mill states, Eccentricity has always abounded when and
where strength of character has abounded; and the amount of eccentricity in a society has
generally been proportional to the amount of genius, mental vigor, and moral courage which is
contained. That so few dare to be eccentric marks the chief danger of the time. (64). Eccentricity
has always gone hand in hand with high sense of character, genius, mental vigor, and moral
courage. Mill writes that if you have a great mind, then it is your duty to follow your intellect to
what it brings you to, and to not let oppositional opinions to stop your from following... Show more

When we have unified enough knowledge, we will understand who we are and why we are
here, (Wilson 7), it is necessary for humans to find and understand who they are and why they
exist. According to Wilson the unification of knowledge can also liberate the mind. He writes
about the myth of Icarus, and his attempt fly using wings made of wax and feathers. His father
warned him to not go near the sun, however he didn t listen and his wings melted and he fell to
his death. This can be viewed as the daring of human endeavor as well as punishment of
foolishness. It is also an attempt to test how far can humans go. Another belief that Wilson has
is the clash between empirical and transcendental views. Wilson explains this, The choice
between transcendentalism and empiricism will be the coming century s version of the
struggle for men s souls, (Wilson 240). Empirical views are like scientific belief and theory, this
according to Wilson, is completely necessary in order for us to understand the world around us.
Transcendental view is a religious view and often opposes the empirical views and discoveries, this
clash has been going on for thousands of years. Wilson himself was raised in a very religious
society and was a strong believe as well, however he opened up his mind to science and it changed

UNIX/Linux versus Mac versus Windows
Really, I m not out to destroy Microsoft. That will just be a completely unintentional side effect.
Linus Torvalds
I wish him the best, I really do. I just think he and Microsoft are a bit narrow. He d be a broader

Microsoft has had clear competitors in the past. It s a good thing we have museums to document
that.

The Mac OS is the product of Apple, which was created in 1976 by the late Steve Jobs and Steve
Wozniac. Mac OS, unlike Microsoft s Windows, is an operating system designed only for the
Macintosh computers. Whereas Microsoft s creation of Windows seemed more or less linear after
the late 1980 s, Apple circulated a number of different computers with different OS s, such as the
Apple II, Apple III, the Lisa, in addition to the line of Macintoshes. The ultimate brilliance behind
Apple s development of its operating systems is vertical combination: Mac also develops both its
own hardware and software. However Microsoft takes a different approach: it provides the OS that
is used by almost all IBM compatible computers manufactured. Of all the individual personal
computer ventures that Apple started however, only the top sellers of the Macintosh remain in
production and continue to evolve.
The first Mac was preceded by the Apple I, the Apple II which was very successful, the Apple III
which was a disaster, and the Lisa which was a disaster almost as bad as the Apple III. It was
introduced in 1984, but development on Mac OS began in 1979. When presented, it was the first
system to rely exclusively on a graphical user interface to respond to user input. However it was
the recognition of this graphical user interface that encouraged Microsoft in its process of Windows.
To introduce the Mac system, Apple aired the

The Scottish and International Film Industry s Contribution to the Development of Scottish Identity
in the Last Part of the Twentieth Century
When people hear the word Scotland there is, as said by C McArthur (2003:59) Diverse images
and narratives right down to particular words and phrases that immediately come into their head .
These images may it be of tartan, misty landscapes, bagpipes or castles contribute to how Scotland
is portrayed and create what is known as a Scottish identity. There is a continuing debate on
whether Scottish identity actually exists or is it as argued by H T Roper 1 an Eighteenth Century
invention . By looking at films that have represented Scotland since the early 1930 s ... Show more

D Bruce explains that these stereotypical images represent Scotland (1996:6). These images have
built a picture of Scotland popular with tourists from all over the world.
When looking at films that represent Scottish identity the list is not exhaustive and although the
question is with regards to the later half of the Twentieth century there were films made early
that also made a contribution. These should be mentioned for example Bonnie Scotland (1935),
The Face of Scotland (1938), Whisky Galore (1949) and Brigadoon (1954). In more recent years
there are again several films to consider these include Rob Roy (1995), Braveheart (1995)
Trainspotting (1996) and Shallow Grave (1994). A review of a few of these films contribution to
the development of Scottish Identity follows.
In 1937 The Films of Scotland Committee was set the task of producing a series of films for the
1938 Glasgow Empire Exhibition, by Walter Elliot the then Secretary of State for Scotland. The
prime aim of the films was to promote the Scottish Nation. One of these seven* films was The
Face of Scotland (1938) The 14 minute black and white documentary set out to ask the question
What and why is the Scot? (Hardy 1990:44) by showing a brief history of Scotland with clips of
Borders landscape, hills and highland scenery. There are views of streets in

  • 2. Psalm 23 Personal Narrative Today made it 4 months, 4 weeks and 6 hours since we got off the helicopter and landed in this desert. I was more of a newbie who just got off the parade squad and was handed a rifle and some piece of encouragements. I remembered that final night before departure and the fun I had with Sean my best friend and adopted army elder brother. Well, I am Nate or rather 1042 for those who cared to ask a newbie. Sean: Hey newbie! He calls me that when he is either drunk or wants to get me mad. Well, tonight he was a bit tipsy from the words he spoke. Nate: Sean, can t wait to get out there on the field and make my country proud. I replied ignoring his newbie taunts. Sean: You still a kid in the game. I will advise you not to jump in front of a bullet because of this your zeal. He said laughing as we packed our bags into the waiting room which we nicknamed Hell passport office. As we hopped into the waiting military trucks to the cheers of the other soldiers, I felt a sought of fulfilment. Sean led us in a military styled version Psalm 23. There were many great characters in the book, also. This book is about a seventeen year old boy named Greg, who revolves around the game of basketball. He lives in Harlem and attends the prestigious magnet school Latimer in the South Bronx, which is predominantly white. He leads the school to great wins, even his former school. His best friend Ice starts to sell drugs, so they drift apart. When his grandmother got sick, his assistant coach became a fatherly mentor to him. For example, Dickenson, focuses more on the beauty of sunsetwhile, Sandburg, compares a sunset to a womans demeanor, and brings out the different kinds of ways the sunsets. In the poem, by Emily Dickenson she compares sunset to a housewife. The poem cites She sweeps with many colored brooms [line 1 2], the quote is portraying the true beauty of a housewife s chores. It is also indirectly referring to the rays of a sunset. A diligent woman sews her own beautiful garments. She uses all different colors and types of thread to sew each of her garments. The colorfulness of the thread can compare to a magnificent sunset. The poem quotes, And now you ve littered all the East, with duds of emerald! [line 7 8]. Literarily, this is referring to the threads and clothes that litter a woman s home. However, Dickenson is referring to the sun setting east, and shining its glow onto the world. The author, uses emerald to portray this beautiful scene since, emerald is a considered a beautiful stone. In the poem Sunsets , by Carl Sandburg, he compares a woman s demeanor to sunset. Later, these would later be separated into five primary and five secondary characteristics by Charles Redman of Arizona State University. These characteristics are considered by (Childe 1950:16) to have exhaust(ed) the factors common to the oldest cities. Using the term road is perhaps a bit of an overstatement, typically the road was little more than a well beaten path and they generally were narrow, ranging from three to fifty two feet wide at any given point (Price and Feinman 2013:409). These roads also covered vastly different terrain, roads were present at both the top of the Andes Mountain range, and also on the coast of what is now Peru, Bolivia, and Argentina (Karam 2001). It is unclear whether the Inca forged every path entirely on their own, or if they simply acquired them through conquest of other natives. According to (Karam 2001:355 357) one thing is certain however, and that is that the Inca were the ones to assemble the roads into a single network and subsequently maintained them. The Tampu were perhaps the most important administrative institution created by the Inca alone and they would certainly be considered innovative by any European society of the same era. Not only did they serve practical purposes for government functions, but they were also symbolic of Inca dominance in the region. Tampu were way stations spaced about a day s walk between themselves and were home to storehouses, barracks, and official government records. • 9. Katherine s Speech In Taming Of The Shrew The ambiguity of whether Katherine s final speech is authentic, in which she apparently proclaims and promulgates female submissiveness, has been thought to define the tone of versions of Taming of the Shrew. However, the attitudes evoked by the monologue can also indicate values of society at the times which the play is presented. Generally, four main theories have emerged regarding the true intent behind Katherine s speech (Wikipedia, 2017): It is sincere and Katherine has been successfully tamed . It is sincere, but because Katherine has fallen in love with Petruchio. It is ironic and is deceiving Petruchio by parroting a socially acceptable, totally impersonal catalogue of honours a wife owes her husband (De Wachter, 2016). It is neither, following the farcical disposition of the play within a play framing device. Up until the 20th century, most of the last speeches by Katherine have adhered with the first option, including the traditional Globe Theatre adaptation. Katherine s acting in the Globe Theatre production, grounded in her facial expressions and tone of voice, shows sincerity and truthfulness in her declaration (V.ii). On the basis of this portrayal, it could be said that in a historical Elizabethan context, audiences would have accepted and deemed the domestication mechanisms and taming practises employed by Petruchio as normal. Its effect on the everyday lives of ordinary people has been phenomenal. Right from the super satellite control stations to the grocer s shop, the multinational company and the busy kitchen in the home this technology is all pervasive, all consuming. This is what makes it one of the most challenging fields as it not only meets needs but has the power to create new needs, rules and total environments of its own. I completed my first certificate course in computers in 1995, it was on GWBASIC language. Since then, computers became a curiosity for me. Due to financial problems at home back then, I could not take admission in an undergraduate course of computer engineering. Therefore, I joined Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc.) course with major in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. In the second year of graduation, I decided to take admission in Master degree course in Computer Science (MCA). MCA is a three year rigorous course that specializes in computer science. During MCA, subjects like Discrete Mathematics, C programming, OOPS and C++, Operating Systems, Numerical Methods, Software Engineering, Databases etc. were my area of focus. By definition, the constitutional model is the idea that the bible was once sacred document that has been modified and changed over time. However, while this serves as legitimate source for how the Bible came to be, it also contains fallacies. If we look at the book of Deuteronomy as an entirety, the amount of authors it took to write debunks the idea of how it was one sacred document. Yes, the Bible has been edited many times over the course of history, but it was never a single sacred document. Children who do not have these boundaries set for them grow up with no respect for authority, and likely little to no respect for God. That s why discipline is important. Proverbs 13:24, He who spares the rod Hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to disciplinehim. The Bibleclearly says that if someone loves their child they will discipline them. Hebrews 12:11, For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. The Bible says that discipline is painful in the moment but good things will come from it. God is quick to discipline us and he loves us more that anyone in this world. So, showing good discipline isn t an action of hate (as some people think today) it is an action of love. Proverbs 23:13 14, Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you strike him with a rod, he will not die. If you strike him with the rod, you will save his soul from Sheol. The Bible says here that discipline will not kill a child but will save the child s soul. Proverbs 22:6, Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. Their intricate relationship comes from the son feeling guilt about how unaware he was of everything his father did and how blinded he was by his childish judgments. The unfreezing phase (Lewin s model) of this change was a gradual, drawn out process. Time: As this was not a company in crisis there wasn t a need to implement change reactively, British Airways had time to achieve their long term strategy. Scope: British Airways did not require a transformation of the organisation as a whole. A realignment of the cabin crew s operations and wage structure was the desired scope for this change. However, due to the industrial action taken by Unite the change had an impact organisation wide. Preservation: It is important that BA preserves what makes British Airways, British Airways. This means they need to retain their brand identity, because this is one of their biggest selling points. It is also important to not destroy the business heritage and culture. Job security for the remaining cabin crew will be at an all time low. Key members of staff need to be reassured of their position so that BA doesn t lose these assets to competitors. • 32. Importance Of Patient Centered Care In Pharmacy Patient centered care is something I think should ve been a part of the pharmacy field since pharmacy has started though, it was to a different extent. Patient centered care for me is to mold /modify a treatment plan according to the patient s needs and to consider them in the treatment plan when making one up. Most doctors are likely to just tell the patient what their condition is and what they should take and just tell them what they need to know instead of asking them questions like what are some complications they have been facing while they are following the treatment plan and addressing them. I think it s important to have patient centered care because then the patient is more likely to trust their doctorand are willing to follow their plan even if it is uncomfortable to them. During my IPPE, my preceptor asked me a question, why would a patient follow through their medication regimen? I told him, that it s because they believe that the medication will work for them. After that, he told me trust in their pharmacist is the key. Then, I understood it, that no matter what the scenario is if the patient is willing to trust their healthcare professional, then they would be willing to follow their care plan and understand their intentions for them, instead of them just listening through one ear and out the other. From all of this, the patient gets the most benefit and it all comes down to patient centered care overall. Some of the examples that contradict ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Destruction Of Jerusalem And The Temple Point #2 The destruction of Jerusalem and the temple in A.D. 70 fulfills Christ s prophecy of perilous times. 13: With v. 15 we come to a critical juncture in the discourse. To this point Jesus has referred to general signs that would characterize the period preceding Israel s collapse. Here in v. 15, though, he refers to one sign that unmistakably signals that the prophesied destruction is at hand. It would serve to alert the people of that generation as to the proximity of Jerusalem s ruin. In response to the question, When will these things be? Jesus now answers When you see . . . (v. 15). Abomination of Desolation is literally, the abomination that causes desolation. In the OT, abomination = an object of disgust, hatred, something that causes revulsion; an idolatrous offense or affront to the true worship of God. The Abomination of Desolation is referred to 4x in Daniel 8:13; 9:27; 11:31; 12:11. The first and immediate reference was to the Syrian king Antiochus who ruled over Palestine in 175 65 b.c. He called himself Theos Epiphanes ( manifest God ) but his enemies called him Epimanes ( madman; the insane one ). In 168 b.c. Antiochus Epiphanes slaughtered 40,000 Jews and plundered the temple. • 39. Celebrities Right To Privacy The Right to Privacy Many individuals believe that when someone becomes a celebrity , they must give up their privacy and personal lives. This statement, concluded by several people, is completely incorrect. Celebrities do not want to give up their freedom or right to privacy when becoming famous, unfortunately, it is their crazy, obsessive fans who want to know every single detail about what is happening in that star s, not so secretive, life. They are continuously followed and stalked by reporters and the paparazzi who never take a day off, leaving celebrities with constant claustrophobia. Digging into the lives of celebrities and discovering their deepest, darkest secrets, is simply just entertainment for those interested. Forgetting that those who are famous need privacy in their lives, is a serious issue in society that is causing many conflicts with celebrities nowadays; individuals are invading their privacy and not accepting this right, they are making them feel claustrophobic and watched at all times, and they truly do not care for those who are famous, only for the entertainment they are creating. Modern day people continue to ask the following question; Seriously, they get paid loads of cash, why do they get mad about pictures? The truth, however, is that everyone deserves their privacy, after all, celebrities are just like everyone else, human beings. Being an actor or actress is an occupation like any other. There is a difference between taking photos while they re working or publishing information and taking photos of them with their children, families or friends on their own time. Imagine being in their position and being watched all the time, while living their life and sometimes making poor decisions. With abduction, these women experienced a great ordeal, which made them more independent individuals compared to when they were under the patriarchal arrangement of the society. It is not to say that the arrangement was removed overnight with Partition, but in fact, it was magnified. Rather, with the loss of a stable and coherent identity overnight, these women needed to reconstruct their identity independently in order to survive. The stories of resistance against forcible recovery showed that they did not want to be passive victims of the patriarchal arrangement that were once again placed on them.
