This document provides instructions for making a homemade volcano. The materials needed include cardboard, newspaper, paper mache glue, paint, vinegar, a plastic drinks bottle, a funnel, measuring jug, and baking soda. The instructions are to glue the bottle to a cardboard base, make paper mache strips to build up the volcano shape around the bottle, paint and decorate the volcano, then add vinegar, food dye, baking soda, and detergent to the bottle to create an eruption.

1. How to make your own Volcano!

2. You will need A piece of cardboard and plenty of newspaper Paper Mache glue Paint Red food dye Plastic drinks bottle Vinegar Funnel and measuring jug Few drops of liquid dishwashing detergent Baking soda

3. step 1 Glue your bottle to a cardboard base

4. step 2 Get your glue ready. UPVA mixed with water works well. A paint tray makes it less messy

5. step 3 Roll balls of newspaper around in your glue

6. step 4 Build up your volcano from the base….. no rush, take your time !

7. step 5 Keep going until your volcano starts to take shape

8. step 6 Then you need thin strips of newspaper to neaten it all up

9. step 7 You can now mould your volcano to any shape you like Make sure you leave the bottle opening free from paper

10. step 8 After you glue has dried (Overnight perhaps) Its ready for painting

11. step 9 Again the colours and style is up to you, remember all volcanoes are unique!

12. step 10 You can add texture, twigs for trees, moss for vegetation and even a few buildings nearby if you like

13. Eruption time - Ingredients Vinegar – Fill half the bottle A few drops of red food colouring 2 tea spoons of baking soda Liquid detergent or ground tablets work too.
