type of product or service that you offer. It is
important to intersperse boards related directly to
your company product or service as well as boards
that are more focused on your company
values, things that you like, the people within your
company, etc.

Ease of Use

The “Pin It” bookmarklet lets you easily pin
things you find on websites.

•

The dropdown
menu is your
navigation through
your
boards, likes, pins, e
tc.

The category search feed is a great
way to get inspired!

A few extra points….
•

We found that pinning after 4pm results in higher repins and likes. People are
getting home from work then and are logging into their personal computers.

•

Starting or joining a shared board is a great way of increasing your followers.

•

Unlike Facebook or Twitter, Pinterest users can follow all your boards or
individual boards so it is harder to count your following. We do it based off
followers of all of our boards as a guideline.

•

Although many people say that Pinterest can be used for a B2B platform, it is
majority used by consumers. Make sure to think carefully before starting
Pinterest. Unless you have a product that appeals to the masses, it is going to be
slower to increase your following.

•

Pinterest can be linked to a Twitter account but cannot be linked to a Facebook
page. Pinterest can only be linked to a personal Facebook account. If you link
Twitter to Facebook, Facebook users can see your pins through your tweets.

We have found that spending 1 hour a week (spread evenly) is enough to manage
Pinterest.

•

Look at other companies in the same industry as you for inspiration.

•

Pinterest is one of the more creative social media networks so if you are going to
do it…..
