1) hMADS cells are multipotent stem cells derived from human adipose tissue that display stem cell properties such as self-renewal, high telomerase activity, and a normal karyotype. 2) When co-cultured with myoblasts, hMADS cells are able to fuse with myoblasts and form hybrid myotubes that express human muscle genes and proteins. 3) The study found that hMADS cells undergo myogenic conversion after fusing with myoblasts and forming myotubes, as they begin expressing muscle determination factors like myogenin, rather than transdifferentiating into myoblasts themselves.
