ACADEMICWORKLOAD Homework and assignments are the most cited burdens to students :Causing headaches, exhaustion and sleep deprivation The students rush to meet deadlines : Causing them to neglect their social life, and have no rest Introverts have it worse because they are shy to ask questions regarding their work : Ultimately results in depression as they will have pent up frustrations

PRIORITY ON ACADEMIC SUCCESS • as the system is built on teaching students: - to ace exams - not for the purpose of learning itself • This will lead to students being pressured to excel in exams • The smart students: - being pushed to do even more better - eventually develop anxiety as there is work constantly being added and them being forced to do better • The weaker students : - forced to study to pass the test despite: >having difficulties in understanding the syllabus - become depressed, demotivated and lose the spark within them to learn : >they feel they are too stupid by the standards set by the system.

CONCLUSION • There are several factors that contribute to mental health decline among students and education is one of the major causes. • We as a society must work hand in hand for this issue to be tackled in order: - to help reduce the rate of mental health issues among students - help contribute towards the building of a more healthy and productive nation
