Suzanne Collins, Katniss Everdeen lives in a dystopian future, which is now
America in the future. In this time period, social classes between the people are
divided into districts from one to thirteen. Katniss is a strong, independent thinker
who has to pretend to be in love with Peeta to sell the image of being star crossed
lovers to the capital. Being a star crossed lovers (a reference to Romeo and Juliet)
mean you have to love, or at least pretend to be in love with that person no matter
what; that is what Katniss and Peeta tries to do. They have to pretend to be in love
with each other, and they have to follow through with it; everybody is watching
especially the game masters, if they mess up, or act like they are not in love with
one another, the game masters, and the people of the capital would think that it

defying the states edict. They choose to go against the states, but the consequences
of their choices are guided by fate. In the play Antigone, Antigone has one flaw

Throughout the world there are many holidays that connect with people s culture.
Since you live your daily life in the same culture you may not notice that you have
certain ways or traditions of doing things. For me Christmas has large role in my
culture. It has a specific meaning to me and my family, it helps us connect with one
another while enjoying family favorite recipes.
One element during Christmas that is significantly important is the food. Everyone
brings a different dish, some bring dessert while others bring meals for dinner. My
favorite dish to eat on Christmas is pozole. It is a soup/stew that contains hominy
beans, pork, chicken or beef, and you can choose if you want it plain or with green
or red salsa to give it spice and make it more flavorful. Every time I think of pozole
I think of It is very tasty, but the downside is that we don t make it often. Some
other dishes that we eat are stuffed turkey or ham, once every few years we will
have tamales, rice, and stuffing. Tamales are another struggle because they take
forever to cook and prepare. My grandma, the tamale making expert, is the one
who make the tamales. I like to help her prepare them because it gives us time to

the poem. The critics discussed the following work by the use of supernaturalism
and religious symbolism. College instructor, Melba Cuddy Keane, states that the
poem is viewed as a dream voyage to another realm (par. 2). According to critic
Michael Burke, the poem reveals a romantic myth of a circular transcending journey,
organized innocence, and salvation (par. 5). Throughout the poem, Coleridge will
deliberate the trials and tribulations man endures on a passage to salvation. In The
Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Coleridge utilizes the concepts of symbols and
supernatural elements to illustrate the fall and redemption of the ancient mariner. The
albatrossis the main topic Coleridge uses for symbolism. Coleridge uses different
symbols in this poem, but they are not as important as the albatross. An albatross
is a bird associated with food and protection. The poem states that the albatross is
good omen to the seamen (Coleridge 671). The albatross helped the men for nine
days, bringing them away from the cloud of the fog. By its behavior, it brings
reconciliation and relief to the men. Wilson Knight finds the albatross to be a

it meant to be a samurai. Of course the samurai protected their homes and families,

Born the son of a daimyo in 1534, Nobunaga s reign though short, had an immense
impact on Japan. Lord of Nagoya Castle, he destroyed opposing clans in brilliant
campaigns against superior forces. He was the first daimyo general to adopt the
newly imported Western muskets. He gradually gained control of the region round
the capital Kyoto, which he took in 1568. In 1580, he became master of all central
Japan.
Nobunaga continued to amass power, but before he could subdue the whole country,
he was caught off guard one night by a rebellious vassal, Akechi Mitsuhide. The life
of the most powerful warlord in Japan ended in 1582. Ruthless and feared upon the
mere mention of his name, Nobunaga was the first to begin the unification of war
