Entrepreneurs and small business owners are on the front lines, navigating the realities of automation. And they have unique advantages. The very fact that they are small and nimble makes small businesses well suited to the realities of the 21st century economy. They are able to quickly adapt, take advantage of new opportunities, and to pivot to serve customer expectations in a rapidly changing world.
To better understand how small businesses are adapting to the age of AI, Intuit conducted a survey examining attitudes towards automation technology today as well as perceptions on how automation technology will impact their business and lives over the next 5 years.
Escaping the automation led redundancy shaping the Indian IT industry finalRakesh Shukla
Recent data is for half a million employees being made redundant over the next 5 yrs. due to automation. Is it true? And what is that the industry, companies and employees can do about it.
The past two years have necessitated big swings and quick thinking. In 2023, smart
business leaders will get focused — pruning efforts that aren’t bearing fruit and prioritising
long-term growth. The war in Europe and resulting global economic slowdown are forcing
firms in Asia Pacific to find new growth drivers and lead with purpose as uncertainty
rises. Most will struggle, however, to find a balance between investing in transformation
and growth while simultaneously embracing environmental sustainability, resilience, and
employee empowerment.
Trust will be at the forefront of business operations in 2023. Customers are increasingly
weary of organisations playing fast and loose with their personal data, and regulators aren’t
far behind. And it won’t stop there — fuelled by the ire of fed-up customers and employees,
regulators will scrutinise greenwashing, misinformation, and employee surveillance.
The interlocking market dynamics of 2023 will require business leaders to adhere to a
long-term strategic vision while operating within unknown territory. A laser focus on their
organisations’ missions and strengths — and a willingness to shed distractions that don’t
move the needle — will be the defining factor of success in 2023.

Rapid and secure feature delivery is a goal across every application team and every branch of the DoD. The Navy’s DevSecOps platform, Party Barge, has achieved:
- Reduction in onboarding time from 5 weeks to 1 day
- Improved developer experience and productivity through actionable findings and reduction of false positives
- Maintenance of superior security standards and inherent policy enforcement with Authorization to Operate (ATO)
Development teams can ship efficiently and ensure applications are cyber ready for Navy Authorizing Officials (AOs). In this webinar, Sigma Defense and Anchore will give attendees a look behind the scenes and demo secure pipeline automation and security artifacts that speed up application ATO and time to production.
We will cover:
- How to remove silos in DevSecOps
- How to build efficient development pipeline roles and component templates
- How to deliver security artifacts that matter for ATO’s (SBOMs, vulnerability reports, and policy evidence)
- How to streamline operations with automated policy checks on container images
Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:

• Wave 1 (to early 2020s): algorithmic
• Wave 2 (to late 2020s): augmentation
• Wave 3 (to mid-2030s): autonomy
Automation risks low for all education levels in short term, but less well educated
workers much more vulnerable in the long run

9. • In the short term, the largest impacts could be on
sectors like financial services where algorithms can
lead to faster and more efficient analysis and
assessments.
• In the longer term, however, the development of
autonomous driverless vehicles could mean that the
largest impacts are seen in the transport sector.
• In contrast, while no sector will be unaffected by these
technologies, areas like health may be relatively less
affected due to a greater reliance on social skills and
the human touch. AI and robots will have an important
role in health care in future, but more working
alongside human doctors and nurses than replacing
them.

11. • The earliest roles to be handed to the machines
will involve low-skill tasks that are repetitive
and predictable. Manufacturing, basic labor and
construction work are all probable areas for
near-term automation.
• However, other jobs, some of which involve
higher level skills, are also being targeted for
automation including driverless cars and virtual
assistant technology which could soon lead to
the replacement of many clerical workers.
• Beyond that, any role that involves moving,
sorting and analyzing data could soon be filled
by an algorithm.
