Target Audience
The film will be set at a BBFC rating of age 15+ due to the
violent/scary nature that shall be involved. The primary
audience will be to both men and women from the age of
15-24, due to this being the closest age to those featured in
the film.
The secondary audience will be those who are from the age
of 25-34. This is because the horror genre has a wide
audience range and many may still enjoy the film, despite
not in the same age range as those actors featured.
Summary of Narrative
A group of friends gather in a memorial of their friend
Rachel’s anniversary of murder. Will the evening go
smooth or will things turn for the worse? Everything
seems well until it becomes revealed that your ‘best friend’
may not be all they seem.
Characters, Actors
Costumes and Props
Characters;
 5 friends; Harry, Kandy, Rachel, Lydia and Matt
Costumes;
 Everyday clothes to represent ordinary lives
Props;
 Masks to disguise antagonists (adds mystery)
Fake knives/guns
Fake blood
Locations/Time of Day
The main footage of the trailer will be shot in the evening,
with the dark lighting connoting danger and mystery. It
will open with bright lighting which can mislead the
audience into what they think may happened next.
The locations that will be used throughout will include a
large family home, with the scale of the property making
the audience feel uneasy as danger could be lurking
anywhere. I will also be using a woodland where the
characters may run to hide but will never be safe.
Editing Sequence
Beginning
This beginning sequence will show the group of friends gathering together in memory of their
late friend. They seem happy as if no other worries are around
them and are drinking – happy music will be playing in the background.
Distributors will be shown in the beginning sequence of the trailer.
Middle
This will show the arrival of the antagonist in the masks. This will first be presented with a
shot from outside the house with a reflection of the mask in the window (yet characters will
not have noticed). The next shots will be fast-paced involving different events including the
characters running through woodland and being attacked etc.
End
The aim of the trailer is to not reveal too much of the storyline yet enough to make viewers
want to come and see the movie at the cinema or buy on DVD. The ending of the trailer will be
left on a cliff-hanger with a hand slowly going towards a ‘dead’ body on the ground about to
remove the mask, when the villain jumps and then the screen goes black.
USP
My unique selling point to my horror movie is that not all
of the characters are innocent. Within the plot there are
many twists and turns and it turns out that the antagonist
isn’t a complete stranger to the story.
