top of the half sheet of paper on your desk.

In the last class you learned about adjectives, which will appear on your next
quiz, and analyzed Simon's tragic end in "View to a Death." Today we will
discuss "The Shell and the Glasses" and compare and contrast the themes in
the chapter to the themes in a piece of poetry.

How has your symbol changed since the beginning of
the novel?
Does their symbol still represent the same idea it did at
the beginning of the novel? Has it been replaced?
Has the symbol changed physically since the
beginning of the novel? What do these changes imply
for the idea the symbol represents?
Find one passage that student think illustrates their
symbol’s changes (or consistency).
