Primary Source Paper Instructions
The student will write a 3–5-page paper analyzing assigned primary sources on the size, scope, and power of the central government. The paper will focus on pertinent and assigned sections of Tocqueville. The student will use parenthetical citations as needed, and will provide a bibliography in proper current Turabian format. Tocqueville must be the only source. The paper must begin with the student’s name and the date in the upper right hand corner, followed by a space, and then the beginning of the paper itself. Do not include a title page.
In the body of the paper, the student must key in on what he/she believes are the 2–3 most important issues in the assigned excerpts of Tocqueville. These issues will generally fall under the aegis of the size/scope/power of the central government. The student must very briefly (in no more than 1.5 pages) overview Tocqueville’s content and ideas and then apply what he/she has learned about this era of American politics to his/her views. According to Tocqueville, what is the American conception of government? What is its role in the lives of citizens? Is his assessment is accurate? This is an academic paper, and the student must follow academic standards of writing. Furthermore, this is not a summary. The student is not simply restating what Tocqueville wrote. The student are breaking it down and assessing its strengths and weaknesses.

Nursing Informatics and Patient Outcomes and Care Efficiencies
Introduction
Information technology has changed nursing landscape and how the profession is moving in the current time. Nursing informatics is slowly revolutionizing healthcare, where capabilities to offer remote care has been implemented, while making patient integration in health delivery. Informatics has enabled the nurses to identify new healthcare risks and develop early interventions before they become public health concerns by controlling them on time. Adoption of nursing informatics in healthcare will transform the nursing profession and lead to better patient outcomes. Nursing informatics makes the healthcare patient based, more patient integration, and better patient outcomes. This project proposal highlights the impact of nursing informatics on patient outcomes by ensuring the preferred plan of care is accessible and all patient needs are accommodated.
Project
The project proposes a more system integrated approach for improving patient symptoms, illnesses that correspond to patient symptoms, and offering the appropriate plan of care. This will improve patient care making it easier to maneuver and ensure care systems are tracked within and without the healthcare system. ...

Plan for Evaluating the Impact of the Intervention
Hospital-acquired infections have been determined throughout this project to be a significant problem in the United States health care system. Epidemiologic data show that there is still a considerable number of patients who die as a result of infections that they have acquired while receiving care (Umscheid et al., 2011). The older population was found to be at a higher risk of acquiring these infections because of their deteriorating immune systems (Sievert et al., 2013). Therefore, a proposed intervention to eliminate the dangers of infection was created. The intervention proposes that nurses go through hand washing education for an extended period to enhance their compliance to hand hygiene after the education program. In studying the potential impacts of this intervention, it was determined that hand washing education is usually effective in changing perceptions and behaviors with regards to hand hygiene, but the compliance to what has been learned is often not maintained. Therefore, this intervention suggests that the education is based on the practice environment and that the nurses are monitored for an extended period. The following is an evaluation plan aiming at assessing the potential outcomes of the proposed intervention.
Evaluation Plan
This evaluation plan is designed to assess the expected outcomes from the implementation of the program (Friis & Sellers, 2014). This plan will investigate the extent to which the hand washing intervention plan will help to reduce the rate of hospital-acquired in infections in the healthcare facilities in which the intervention will be implemented. The plan includes an evaluation of the short-term, medium-term, and long-term changes expected to occur after the implementation of the intervention.
Stakeholders Involved in the Intervention
For the expected outcome to be achieved, the following stakeholders will be required to participate in the intervention program. Evaluating the participation of the stakeholders is essential in determining their contribution to the outcome of the program (Centers for Disease Control, 2011). The program will require the participation of the Director of Nursing, who will be responsible for guiding the nurses included in the intervention to ensure that they participate in the program as required. The intervention will also require the participation of the Directors of the respective health care facilities where the intervention will be implemented to ensure that they provide the resources needed for the program to be implemented and approve the use of the hospital data to evaluate the outcomes of the program. The hospitals included will also need to employ super ...

Clinical data is fundamental in the medical field. It is from this data that change and efficiency are made possible. Clinical data forms the basis of clinical care given to patients and research studies and is also used by the administration for decision-making and influencing change (Deckro et al., 2021). Modernization has come up with better ways of processing and storing clinical data, popularly known as informatics. This has led to the increased utilization of computers and information technology in clinical data management. The informatics results have increased efficiency in managing patients' data (McGonigle & Mastrian, 2022). It is crucial to ensure proper data management because it is from clinical data that crucial decisions and problems are solved in healthcare.
An example of a scenario where data can be helpful in problem-solving is the case where a healthcare facility wants to determine the average number of patients they receive in a day and use that information to establish whether the staff to patient ratio is satisfactory. This data can be obtained by registering all patients who attend the facility for a certain period, for example, three months, and stored electronically. The average is then done to get the approximate number of clients in a day. Additionally, the data should capture the age of patients, significant complaints, and the departments where the patients were attended. It is vital to secure this data to avoid unauthorized access to promote patients' privacy and compliance with the HIPAA to avoid legal consequences.
The knowledge derived from the data described above is the number of patients visiting the facility and their health needs. From this, the healthcare center will be able to critically analyze and evaluate whether the facility's staffing and resources are enough to meet the patients' demands. Suppose the number of patients is higher compared to the resources. In that case, the facility will be able to tell there is a shortage and the staff is being overworked, which is likely to compromise the services given to the patients.
From the data, a nurse leader can use clinical reasoning and judgment to explain why the health facility could be performing less efficiently and not meeting its goal of providing optimum medical services to patients. Additionally, the nurse could judge that the patients are not satisfied with the services provided from the data (Zhu et al., 2019). With that information, a nurse leader can successfully convince the management that there is a need for more staffing and resources to meet the patients' needs more successfully.
In conclusion, data management is crucial in the healthcare practice. With proper informatics, nurses and other healthcare providers will function optimally, and the results will be better quality ...

My change proposal is being implemented in the ICU. The intervention is implementing communication tools and processes that are evidence based to improve nursing sensitive indicators in the ICU. The internal stakeholders are the ICU staff and the hospital. The external stakeholders are the community that is served by the hospital. Our hospital works off of a relationship-based care (RBC) model. RBC is a culture transformation model and an operational framework that improves safety, quality, patient satisfaction, and staff satisfaction by improving every relationship within an organization (Gallison & Kester, 2018). The core of workforce engagement is the reignighting of joy and meaning for nurses. The joy and satisfaction in having a sense of accomplishment and significance in the work through processes leading to successful outcomes. RBC speaks to how we treat patients, family, and each other. Internal stakeholders all work off this model in this organization. However, covid greatly challenged relationship based care principles by limiting how we interact with each other and our patient families. That in person piece is missing for many patients still. In this organizational transition back to pre-covid practices, meetings, and policies staff are looking for guidance to unify and strengthen the workforce. It is a good segway into external stakeholders. Our nurses and other staff are also members of the community served by the hospital. Therefore, the internal stakeholders all face the real fact that they too receive their care here and have an interest in the quality of care provided. This community funded hospital has been influenced by local donors, architects and artists. Donors play a large role in celebrating the staff and creating this sense of meaning and significance for hospital staff. In a relationship based care model, these gestures serve a huge purpose and allow the hospital to recognize staff in unique ways. The positive factor here is that the nurses have come out of this powerless feeling covid left them with. Small gestures that build trust between nursing and management create a more productive work environment. This is done through clear concise communication, open discussion, and acting on feedback from staff.

Introduction
Using health information technology (HIT) to improve care and outcomes for older adults is
a growing program of research propelled by recent transformative policies such as the
Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act
(Blumenthal, 2010; Institute of Medicine, 2011) and the Institute of Medicine report, "The
Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health." (Institute of Medicine, 2010). Both
documents call for the implementation of electronic health records (EHR) and HIT solutions
to improve the safety, quality and efficiency of care. Several nurse scientists are at the
forefront of advancing this work, particularly using electronic health records, decision
support and telehealth. This commentary highlights examples of recent research (2010–
2014) led by nurse scientists using HIT to improve patient safety, and the quality and
efficiency of patient care. We also discuss future opportunities for Gerontological nurse
scientists interested in blending the care of older adults and HIT and suggest strategies to
increase our capacity to engage in such innovative research.
Using the EHR to improve outcomes for older adults
Recent incentives provided by the HITECH Act have resulted in rapid growth in the
development and implementation of the EHR. Nurse led studies are beginning to
demonstrate that effective use of the EHR can improve outcomes of relevance to older
adults such as pressure ulcers and falls. Dowding and colleagues evaluated the impact of an
integrated EHR in 29 Kaiser Permanente hospitals on process and outcome indicators for
patient falls and hospital acquired pressure ulcers (Dowding, Turley, & Garrido, 2012).
They found that the EHR system was associated with improved documentation of both fall
and pressure ulcer risk assessments and statistically significant improvements for pressure
ulcer risk assessment documentation. They demonstrated that improved documentation
using the EHR was associated with a 13% decrease in hospital acquired pressure ulcer rates.

The Application of Data to Problem-Solving
In the modern era, there are few professions that do not to some extent rely on data. Stockbrokers rely on market data to advise clients on financial matters. Meteorologists rely on weather data to forecast weather conditions, while realtors rely on data to advise on the purchase and sale of property. In these and other cases, data not only helps solve problems, but adds to the practitioner’s and the discipline’s body of knowledge.
Of course, the nursing profession also relies heavily on data. The field of nursing informatics aims to make sure nurses have access to the appropriate date to solve healthcare problems, make decisions in the interest of patients, and add to knowledge.
In this Discussion, you will consider a scenario that would benefit from access to data and how such access could facilitate both problem-solving and knowledge formation.
To Prepare:
Reflect on the concepts of informatics and knowledge work as presented in the Resources.
Consider a hypothetical scenario based on your own healthcare practice or organization that would require or benefit from the access/collection and application of data. Your scenario may involve a patient, staff, or management problem or gap.

All healthcare workers are trained to share the common goal of providing the best quality of care to their patients. Regardless of what role one may serve on the multidisciplinary team, they all have an obligation to accurately assess the needs of the patient, to efficiently collect and record data, to contribute to diagnosing, and to treat/ evaluate properly. “Informatics blend technology and information to blend something new that people, organizations and society can make use of” (Laureate, 2018). Assignment 1: Legal Aspects of U.S. Health Care System Administration
Due Week 3 and worth 200 points
Prevailing wisdom reinforces the fact that working in U.S. health care administration in the 21st Century requires knowledge of the various aspects of health laws as they apply to dealing with medical professionals. Further, because U.S. health care administrators must potentially interact with many levels of professionals beyond the medical profession, it is prudent that they be aware of any federal, state, and local laws that may be applicable to their organizations. Thus, their conduct is also subject to the letter of the law. They must evaluate the quality of their professional interactions and be mindful of the implications and ramifications of their decisions.
Nearly 65 million surgical operations were performed in 2015 in the U.S. resulting in an estimated 200,000 deaths from complications or other post-operative issues (Ghaferi, Myers, Sutcliffe, & Pronovost, 2016). Ongoing innovation in healthcare can improve patient outcomes. According to the Harvard Business Review article, The Next Wave of Hospital Innovation to Make Patients Safer, over the past several decades, there have been three distinct waves of surgical improvement: technical advancements, standardizing procedures, and high reliability organizing.
Assume the role of a top health administrator at We Care Hospital. You are interested in propelling the hospital to the next level by applying for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. However, you want to ensure surgical outcomes for patient morbidity and mortality rates. You begin by researching the Surgical Care Improvement Project (SCIP) aimed to improve adherence to quality protocols. You need to ensure the hospital policy is consistent with the law and that the hospital is correctly reporting Sentinel Events to the Joint Commission, a hospital regulatory agency.
Note: You may create and / or make all necessary assumptions needed for the completion of this assignment.
Write a three to four (3-4) page paper in which you:
1. Analyze how standardizing procedures and documenting steps can improve outcomes when performing a complex procedure. Review the peer-reviewed journal article, The Next Wave of Hospital Innovation to Make Patients Safer. Articulate your position as the top administrator concerned about the importance of professional conduct and negligence in SCIP quality guidelines.
2. High Reliability Organizing emphasizes the varying actions that can affect patient safety given that standardized systems ignore the fact that each patient is different. Ascertain the major ramifications when the health care team “fails to rescue” the patient. Identify what hospital policies should be in place and identify previous case laws.
3. Analyze the four (4) elements required of a plaintiff to prove medical negligence.
4. Discuss the overarching duties of the health care governing board in mitigating the effects of medical non- ...

Describe the methods to be used to implement the proposed solution
An electronic system to document pressure ulcer risk assessment and incidence will be created within the hospital’s current electronic medical record system, EPIC.
The system facilitates recording pressure ulcer incidence that would trigger wound consult nurses to provide timely advice on and validation of the categories of pressure ulcers.
Staff charge nurses will conduct pressure ulcer assessments in admission. Instead of documenting in paper form, they will directly record these findings on an initial risk assessment electronic form and simultaneously make an e-referral to the wound consult nurse if a patient has a pressure ulcer that is a stage 2 or higher.
Having an electronic pressure ulcer risk and incidence form for each patient allows various healthcare professionals and members of the interdisciplinary team to have secure access to reliable and current information in real-time (Plaskitt, Heywood, and Arrowsmith, 2015).
Develop a plan for implementing the proposed solution
Per Wager et al (2009), it is crucial that a team is organized that serves “to plan, coordinate, budget, and manage all aspects of the new system implementation” (p. 244). A team will be assembled to gain much-needed support for the program. This implementation team is vital in engaging various stakeholders in providing support and commitment to the project. The team members include charge nurses, wound consultant nurses, quality improvement nurses, an MD champion and department managers from areas such as education, equipment and information technology (IT) and administration.
An immersion event will be launched to inform and engage all staff members in the project. The event will allow necessary information to be disseminated, share goals and desired outcomes as well as the rationale behind the project.
Shedenhelm et al (2010), states that providing education through a variety of methods allows training to be received well for recipients with diverse learning styles. Furthermore, ongoing training should be developed and advertised through educational newsletters and emails that provide education reminders and other important information. Shedenhelm et al (2010), also emphasizes provision of multiple opportunities through multiple sites locations at varied times increases turnout. TURNITIN ASSIGNMENT (FREE OF PLAGIARISM)
Coordination of patient care plays an important role in positive health outcomes; however, it is becoming more of a challenge as the United States’ population is aging, diseases and treatments are becoming more complex and technological costs are rising (Seyedamini, et al., 2019, p. 6). This coordination of care is known as clinical integration, which can be defined as “the coordination of patient care across providers, settings and and time to achieve safe, effective, efficient and patient-focused care” (Regis College, n.d). Clinical integration has the potential to lower health care costs, improve efficiency and quality of care (Seyedamini, et al., 2019, p. 7).
However, in order to facilitate efficient clinical integration, providers need proper financing, cultural adaptation and supportive resources (Seyedamini, et al., 2019, p. 7). Challenges that providers and patients face with clinical integration include continuously updating of medical techniques, equipment and computer-based information systems, increased complexity of care making communication between providers more difficult, as well as increased insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act causing a higher demand for providers (Shi & Singh, 2019, p. 138). According to Haughom (2017), our modern health care system requires “comprehensive care management systems” (para. 8). He states in addition to electronic medical records, providers need a system that contains the five core competencies of care management including, 1) data integration, 2) patient stratification and intake, 3) care coordination, 4) patient engagement, and 5) performance measurement.
Currently, there is a comprehensive smartphone system being developed that has yet to be fully launched known as FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources). This system would allow providers, researchers and patients to store and share medical information all in one place (Rae-Dupree, 2019, para. 3). This system would support clinical integration and simplify the current complex process of sharing data between providers and patients, which in turn could result in greater efficiency in healthcare delivery (Regis College, n.d). However, this system is still working on gaining support from providers and institutions. They are also facing challenges with how to properly protect patient information in the cyber world (Rae-Dupree, 2019, para. 24).
With newly developing technologies to improve clinical integration, such as FHIR, health care professionals must be properly trained and adhere to new systems to achieve the intended outcomes of improved quality of care and reduced costs. New delivery models being used to replac.

Prospectus: Educating Inpatient Nurses to use Standardized Care Plans
Problem Statement
Standardized care plans can be described as the pre-determined menu of interventions which are used for different patient situations (Monsen, Swenson & Kerr, 2016). Evidence-based care is the conscientious use of the most recent evidence to make decisions on the care of individual patients or in the delivery of health care services (Murdaugh, Parsons & Pender, 2018). The current best evidence is the most recent information which has been obtained from valid and relevant research about the effects of different types of healthcare, the accuracy of diagnostic tests, the potential for harm from exposure to different agents, or predictive power of prognostic factor (Schmidt & Brown, 2017). Standardized care plans form the main basis for the implementation of evidence-based care directly in practice and for the improvement of patient outcomes (Nussbaum et al., 2015; Yehuda & Hoge, 2016). A health care facility recently transitioned to the use of a new and better electronic health record system. The facility also purchased standardized care plans to increase efficiency in their operations. However, the compliance with using the standardized care plans was only 40 percent among the inpatient nurses. Comment by Cynthia Fletcher: ?Comment by Cynthia Fletcher: Questionable purpose.Comment by Cynthia Fletcher: Was it different for those who were not inpatient nurses?
Accordingly, the facility recently had a visit from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and received a negative rating because the nurses were not adding care plans based on the patients' primary problem or diagnosis in the patients' charts upon admission. This presents several specific problems in the healthcare facility. There is poor compliance from the nurses concerning the addition of standardized care plans to the charts of patients based on their diagnosis or primary problem(s). The system which the facility invested in was not being used for the improvement of patient outcomes and quality of care delivered. The focus of this project is the failure of inpatient nurses to make use of standardized care plans. The gap in nursing is the failure of delivery of evidence-based practice using the standardized care plans which result in poor patient outcomes and quality of life. One of the areas of knowledge that has not yet been explored is the cause of low rates of adoption of standardized care plans by nurses. Another gap is the lack of studies on nurses’ perception of the standardized care plans and how they affect their use in .

Assignment 1
Part 1: Defining the Problem
Problem Identification
According to Ludwick and Doucette (2009), one of the primary issues in healthcare is the reduced standard of patient care due to the continued non-integration of technology in medical-based facilities. The result is a poor entry of patient data, coupled with a system that cannot be relied upon in the long term. In this context, Black et al. (2011) are of the opinion that it is mandatory for all healthcare facilities to incorporate electronic health records systems and shift from the use of manual-based recording strategies.
Comment by Author: Use all of participating authors the first time listing
Problem Statement
The continued utilization of manual health-based recording system in the contemporary society leads to reduced efficiency. It also negatively affects the overall outcome of healthcare delivery at the expense of the patient.
Problem Description
The continued use of paper-based records in the modern society is inefficient as compared to hospices that use electronic-based recording system. First, the use of the latter focuses on patient-centered care whereby there it leads to reduced repetition of tests, as there is no scattering of test results in various hospitals. In addition, the paper-based recording system is redundant as the access to a patient’s records by a medical health provider is limited by the location of the doctor as well as the time they can access the hospital (Black et al. 2011). However, the latter is not limited by the mentioned entities since data can be sent electronically at any time and place to the doctor. The problem is directly related to my discipline since patients that undergo recording of their personal information through the manual-based recording system are prone to medical errors. According to Ludwick and Doucette (2009), such errors may involve poor drug administration, especially if a patient may prove allergic to various subscribedprescribed medications. Besides, the electronic-based records will result in increased monitoring of a patient, which leads to faster healthcare delivery, which is the objective of studying my discipline.
Purpose Statement
The reduced efficiency coupled with the adverse outcome caused by paper-based recording systems will be obliterated upon the incorporation of the electronic-based recording system. The objective related to the implementation of the project is increased efficiency and improved quality of healthcare delivery to the patients.
Part 2: Defining a Searchable, Answerable Question:
Population/Patient Problem:
1. What are the efficiency rates concerning number of patients that are bound to benefit from the incorporation of the electronic-based records?
Comment by Author: Needs to clarify what the rates are referring? Efficiency of what?
2. Does the electronic health recording provide any unique advantages over the manual recording system regarding the health status, of a patient?

Jennifer DiscussionThe use of electronic health records (EHR) i.docxLaticiaGrissomzz
Jennifer Discussion:
The use of electronic health records (EHR) is widely recommended as a means to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of US health care. (Howard, et al., 2013)
Stakeholders can be described as a person or group with a vested interest in a particular clinical decision and the evidence that supports that decision like patients, clinicians, hospital systems/clinics, purchasers/payers, healthcare representatives, policymakers (federal, state, local) and researchers (Cottrell, et al., 2016). Stakeholders can be the leadership/administrative team, board members, or partnerships alongside an organization When it comes to implementing a CIS the stakeholder’sinvolvement is critical to the success of these implementation efforts, especially when it comes to the decision, selection, pre-implementation, implementation, and postimplementation phases; Involvement of various stakeholder groups throughout the entire process is paramount for implementing any information systems (Hartzler, et al. 2013).
The implementation of a CIS should impact staff in several ways, decrease staff burdens like check-in and rooming, staff charting, and communication When it comes to check-in, rooming, and charting, EHR use allowed staff to electronically track when patients had arrived, and to quickly find patient demographic information, problem, and medication lists, immunization records, previous visit records, vital signs, as well as lab and other test results, without having to take the time to search through a paper chart (Howard, et al 2013). Looking at communication within the EMR there are messaging features that allow for more effective communication between staff and physicians (Howard, et al 2013).
Implementing a new CIS will improve overall patient care. EMRs have all of the patient’s data in one direct location. With EHRs, providers can give the best possible care, at the point of care; This can lead to a better patient experience and, most importantly, better patient outcomes (Health IT 2017). The EMR will also provide a new features for patients like a patient portal, electronic referrals, prescriptions, and. e notifications (Health IT 2017).

HCA 459: Senior Project
Introduction
Health care sector is experiencing many transformations in service delivery and in patient handling. There are immense trends all around the world including technology that not only change the delivery of health care but also the way the system is conceived (Tan, 2011). In the hospital setting, technology is the pillar for efficiency, accurate record keeping, increased accessibility to healthcare and transition of healthcare to homes. The effects of technology in the County Hospital administrators include efficient support systems which enhance quality services through use of electronic medical records and other information transmission systems. Technological advances enhances understand diseases and discoveries and development of new therapies through genome decoding.
Scope of the senior Project
The impact of technology in regards to employee performance, organization structure and management planning.
Evidence-based medicine through technology will enable healthcare providers to establish standard protocols to be used in treatment of many diseases.
Effects of healthcare trend on treatment cost
In the world today, payers have a huge role in making decision on the type of treatment that a patient receives following the rising cost of medical services. Therefore, it is evident that technology has empowered patients in the choice of treatment option that they receive.
Moreover, technology enhances data management and ultimate coordination among healthcare providers (Ho, 2012). Patient files are easily accessible from anywhere following the extensive use of databases which have also cut down the cost of care services in the hospital. Healthcare providers can use invasive procedures with the increased technological advances. Imaging has reduced the task of examination by technicians and physicians on human anatomy.
Effects of health care trend on quality and access of services
Advent of technology has enabled realization of reduced mortality and thus increased life expectancy. Improved technology enhances quality services and these services have been individualized to suit every patient. In addition, previously untreatable conditions such as end-stage renal diseases are now treatable mainly due to improvement in capabilities and quality of services (Futurescan, 2011).
The negative impact of technology in healthcare
Internet has provided room for large medical knowledge which creates a platform for self-diagnosis among patients. This poses great and serious damage to a patient’s health and the general wellbeing and in the long run it may lead to increased cost of treatment.
Discussion
Factors that lead to the current trends in healthcare system
There is an increasing demand by the consumers for better health care services. This is the prime factor that results in the increased innovation.

Be sure to okay your choice with me. Some places that don’t work for this project are Scientology, the Self Realization Fellowship, the Kabbalah Center, SGI Buddhist, Hare Krishna.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Attend a religious activity that you’re curious about and would like to explore.
You must attend a service, not simply visit a religious site.
Examples: a mosque, temple, synagogue, gurdwara.
You can probably find an interesting place of worship near where you live or work.
It’s always a good idea to phone or email the place of worship before you attend.
Research methods must include participant/observation and informal conversation. One slightly more formal interview is desirable.
Be absolutely sure to allow time to stay after the service for food, lunch, other refreshment, or informal gathering. This may well be the most important part of your experience and will enable you to answer the question, “What meaning does this place and this service have for the participants?
You must go some place you’ve never been to before. Do NOT choose your own tradition or somewhere you’re even a bit familiar with. Choose somewhere entirely new and different.
The important thing is to come to the service as an outsider, with the eyes and ears of an anthropologist and take note of everything. Use the skills you’ve learned in this class.
You can attend alone or with a co-researcher or two from the class. Best, you can be the guest(s) of a classmate or someone else you know and discuss the event with them. Invite a classmate or two to attend a service from your tradition.
Do not write about an event you attended in the past. But you can use past experiences for comparison and reflection.
It is almost never appropriate to jot down notes during a religious service. Better, write everything you remember immediately after the event. Get sufficient detail to write what anthropologist Clifford Geertz called “thick”, or rich description.
In writing your paper use terms we've discussed in class and think about connections to the reading we’ve done and films we’ve seen.

Furthermore, each nursing units will be provided pressure ulcer training bundles that including competencies will be presented.
Regular communication with various constituent groups such be conducted and a means for reporting problems.

1. Electronic Health Records
Electronic health records (EHRs) are at the center stage of the effort to improve health care quality and control costs. In addition to allowing medical practitioners to access and record clinical documentation at much faster rates, EHRs are also positively influencing care delivery and nurse-patient interaction. Yet despite the potential benefits of EHRs, their implementation can be a formidable task that has broad-reaching implications for an entire health care organization.
In this Discussion, you appraise strategies for obtaining the benefits and overcoming the challenges of implementing and using electronic health records.
To prepare
Review the implementation of EHRs in an organization. Reflect on the various approaches used.
If applicable, consider your own experiences with implementing EHRs. What were some positive aspects of the implementation? What suggestions would you make to improve the process?
Reflect on the reactions of others during the implementation process. Were concerns handled effectively?
If you have not had any experiences with an EHR implementation, talk to someone who has and get his or her feedback on the experience.
Search and indicate examples of effective and poor implementation of EHRs.

Johnson & Johnson’s Tylenol Crisis
Background
“The killer’s motives remain unknown, but his — or her, or their — technical
savvy is as chilling today as it was 30 years ago.
On Sept. 29, 1982, three people died in the Chicago area after taking
cyanide-laced Tylenol at the outset of a poisoning spree that would claim seven
lives by Oct. 1. The case has never been solved, and so the lingering question —
why? — still haunts investigators.
Food and Drug Administration officials hypothesized that the killer bought
Extra-Strength Tylenol capsules over the counter, injected cyanide into the red
half of the capsules, resealed the bottles, and sneaked them back onto the shelves
of drug and grocery stores. The Illinois attorney general, on the other hand,
suspected a disgruntled employee on Tylenol’s factory line. In either case, it was a
sophisticated and ambitious undertaking with the seemingly pathological go.

They are all about Art and Politics in Renaissance Florence Period
1. Short Paper
Street corners, guild halls, government offices, and confraternity centers contained works of art that made the city of Florence a visual jewel at precisely the time of its emergence as a European cultural leader. In shared religious and secular spaces, people from the city of Florence commissioned altarpieces, chapels, buildings, textiles, all manner of objects – at home, interior spaces were animated with smaller-scale works, such as family portraits, birth trays, decorated pieces of furniture, all of which relied on patrons, artists, and audiences working with the beauty and power of sensory experience. Like people all over Europe, viewers believed in the power of images, and they shared an understanding of the persuasiveness of art and architecture. Florentines accepted the utterly vital role that art could play as a propagator of civic, corporate, religious, political and individual identity.
Select one or two of the test case studies [that is, talk about Cosimo or Lorenzo the Magnificent or Savonarola's impact on Florence or the new Republic under Soderini] from this Module on Art and Politics in Renaissance Florence, and explore your understanding of people in Florence, who was so alive to the power and communication possibilities in works of art, objects, and spaces throughout the city and beyond.
Word count:
600-700 words
No need for citations.
2. Long Discussion
In this longer discussion forum, create an initial post of
450-500 words that explores these key concepts;
In this discussion post, talk about the political and social messages that you can see in the various works of art commissioned by the Medici, all the while being aware of the debate that was circulating about power and religion. If the content of the work of art is religious, how does the work convey political messages?

Embraces diversity and open dialogue as core values.
The leader's role is to provide direction and exercise authority.
Commands respect and admiration from those who follow you.
Moral principles and personal beliefs underpin all choices.
Seek out a wide range of perspectives (Cherry, 2020).
Behaviorist theory is the one that fits my style of leadership the best.
Being the change you wish to see in the world is crucial, in my opinion. According to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, "Behavior is the mirror in which everyone exhibits their picture." My main priorities are the well-being of the team members and developing effective solutions via cooperative effort.

Working as a Management Analyst in the realm of government spending, I am frequently required to communicate with the Program Management Team of a third party firm. No collimated staff members prevent me from personally performing some of the work necessary to maintain an accurate external organization ledger. As a result, I need to be approachable, polite, and nice to my coworkers so that they would feel comfortable confiding in me and trusting me with their ideas. By consistently soliciting feedback from staff and management, I want to foster a culture of collaboration. This fosters innovation on the team and opens minds to new points of view.

Abstract
Background: Co-administration of multiple intravenous (IV) medicines down the
same lumen of an IV catheter is often necessary in the intensive care unit (ICU) while
ensuring medicine compatibility.
Aims and objectives: This study explores ICU nurses' views on the everyday practice
surrounding co-administration of multiple IV medicines down the same lumen.
Design: Qualitative study using focus group interviews.
Methods: Three focus groups were conducted with 20 ICU nurses across two hospi-
tals in the Thames Valley Critical Care Network, England. Participants' experience of
co-administration down the same lumen and means of assessing compatibility were
explored. All focus groups were recorded, transcribed verbatim, and analysed using
thematic analysis. Functional Resonance Analysis Method was used to provide a
visual representation of the co-administration process.
Results: Two key themes were identified as essential during the process of co-admin-
istration, namely, venous access and resources. Most nurses described insufficient
venous access and lack of compatibility data for commonly used medicines (eg, anal-
gesics and antibiotics) as particular challenges. Strategies such as obtaining additional
venous access, prioritizing infusions, and swapping line of infusion were used to man-
age IV administration pro.

Summary Using meta-analysis, we compare three attitudinal outcomes (i.e., job satisfaction, affective
commitment, and turnover intent), three behavioral outcomes (i.e., interpersonal deviance,
organizational deviance, and work performance), and four health-related outcomes (i.e.,
general health, depression, emotional exhaustion, and physical well being) of workplace
aggression from three different sources: Supervisors, co-workers, and outsiders. Results from
66 samples show that supervisor aggression has the strongest adverse effects across the
attitudinal and behavioral outcomes. Co-worker aggression had stronger effects than outsider
aggression on the attitudinal and behavioral outcomes, whereas there was no significant
difference between supervisor, co-worker, and outsider aggression for the majority of the
health-related outcomes. These results have implications for how workplace aggression is
conceptualized and measured, and we propose new research questions that emphasize a multi-
foci approach. Copyright # 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
I admit that, before I was bullied, I couldn’t understand why employees would shy-away from doing
anything about it. When it happened to me, I felt trapped. I felt like either no one believed me or no
one cared. This bully was my direct boss and went out of his way to make me look and feel
incompetent. . . I dreaded going to work and cried myself to sleep every night. I was afraid of
losing my job because I started to question my abilities and didn’t think I’d find work elsewhere.

Judicial OpinionsOverview After the simulation, justices writ.docxSusanaFurman449
Judicial Opinions
Overview: After the simulation, justices write judicial opinions in reaction to the oral argument, merits briefs, conference, and draft opinions as well as the facts of the case, Constitution, and case law. Justices circulate drafts so they know how their colleagues plan to rule and why, and so they can respond to one another in their final judicial opinion draft.
Instructions: You are a Supreme Court justice preparing an opinion for announcement. Read the case materials: case hypothetical, merits briefs, and judicial opinion drafts of your colleagues, and review your notes from oral argument and conference. Write a majority opinion resolving the major legal question in light of the facts of the case, Constitution, and case law, as well as all case materials: merits briefs, oral argument, and the views of your colleagues (in conference and draft opinions). Opinions must support an argument, refute counterarguments, and respond to attorneys (oral argument and/or merits briefs), and fellow justices (conference and/or draft opinions).
Opinions should contain the following five elements, in the following order:
1. an introductory statement of the nature, procedural posture, and prior result of the case;
2. a statement of the issues to be decided;
3. a statement of the material facts;
4. a discussion of the governing legal principles and resolution of the issues; and
5. the disposition and necessary instructions.
Each of these is developed further below.
Assessment: Complete opinions must support an argument, refute counterarguments, and respond to attorneys (oral argument and/or merits briefs), and fellow justices (conference and/or draft opinions). Strong opinions will be well organized, logically argued, and well supported through reference to and explanation of Supreme Court decisions and legal principles. Assessment rests on how well you make use of, identify, and explain relevant course material. It also rests on staying in character and not diverging from your justice’s political ideology and/or judicial philosophy.
Introduction
The purpose of the Introduction is to orient the reader to the case. It should state briefly what the case is about, the legal subject matter, and the result. It may also cover some or all of the following:
1. The parties: The parties should be identified, if not in the Introduction, then early in the opinion, preferably by name, and names should be used consistently throughout. (The use of legal descriptions, such as “appellant” and “appellee,” tends to be confusing, especially in multi-party cases.)
2. The procedural and jurisdictional status: relevant prior proceedings, and how the case got before the court should be outlined.
Statement of issues
The statement of issues is the cornerstone of the opinion; how the issues are formulated determines which facts are material and what legal principles govern. Judges should not be bound by the attorneys’.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. Primary Source Paper Instructions
The student will write a 3–5-page paper analyzing assigned
primary sources on the size, scope, and power of the central
government. The paper will focus on pertinent and assigned
sections of Tocqueville. The student will use parenthetical
citations as needed, and will provide a bibliography in proper
current Turabian format. Tocqueville must be the only source.
The paper must begin with the student’s name and the date in
the upper right hand corner, followed by a space, and then the
beginning of the paper itself. Do not include a title page.
In the body of the paper, the student must key in on what he/she
believes are the 2–3 most important issues in the assigned
excerpts of Tocqueville. These issues will generally fall under
the aegis of the size/scope/power of the central government.
The student must very briefly (in no more than 1.5 pages)
overview Tocqueville’s content and ideas and then apply what
he/she has learned about this era of American politics to his/her
views. According to Tocqueville, what is the American
conception of government? What is its role in the lives of
citizens? Is his assessment is accurate? This is an academic
paper, and the student must follow academic standards of
writing. Furthermore, this is not a summary. The student is not
simply restating what Tocqueville wrote. The student are
breaking it down and assessing its strengths and weaknesses.

Nursing Informatics and Patient Outcomes and Care
Efficiencies
Introduction
Information technology has changed nursing landscape and how
the profession is moving in the current time. Nursing
informatics is slowly revolutionizing healthcare, where
capabilities to offer remote care has been implemented, while
making patient integration in health delivery. Informatics has
enabled the nurses to identify new healthcare risks and develop
early interventions before they become public health concerns
by controlling them on time. Adoption of nursing informatics in
healthcare will transform the nursing profession and lead to
better patient outcomes. Nursing informatics makes the
healthcare patient based, more patient integration, and better
patient outcomes. This project proposal highlights the impact of
nursing informatics on patient outcomes by ensuring the
preferred plan of care is accessible and all patient needs are
accommodated.
Project
The project proposes a more system integrated approach for
improving patient symptoms, illnesses that correspond to
patient symptoms, and offering the appropriate plan of care.
This will improve patient care making it easier to maneuver and
ensure care systems are tracked within and without the
healthcare system. Operating bedside nurses will be able to

which will lead to better healthcare services availed to patients
whenever needed. In addition, information sharing is made it
easier as different nurses attend to patients, thus communication
among the nurses will be improved. By adopting nursing
informatics, patient care is made the primary concern within a
healthcare facility which will lead to better care quality and
better patient outcomes (Ariosto et al., 2018).
Stakeholders Impacted
The project will have a direct impact on all the stakeholders
within the hospital setting. Each department in a healthcare
facility has various stakeholders and structure of management,
all of which are integrated to a facility system that work
towards the same goal; of improving healthcare services to their
customers. These stakeholders include nurses, hospital
managers, doctors, pharmaceuticals, and the patients. All the
hospital stakeholders will need to hold a meeting and discuss
the viability of this project and how their individual
departments will be impacted, as well as the overall hospital.
Hospital leadership will then arrive at the final decision because
they have a final say when such matters arise.
The work of the physicians will be highly simplified because
they give prescriptions based on symptoms presented by the
patient. Besides, the chances making errors when giving
prescriptions will be highly reduced on the part of both nurses
and pharmacists if this project is implemented (Kinnunen et al.,
2019). The project impacts the quality of care given to patients.
This means that the project will make a positive impact on the
patient by improving the quality of care offered to them in the
organization.
Patient Outcomes/ Efficiencies
Previously, healthcare systems were characterized by increased
number of medical errors committed by the nursing and
increased miscommunication that influences the quality of care
4. offered to the patient. With the implementation of this project
such errors will be eliminated. In addition, errors made through
manual writings might be hard to detect, but with a
technologically driven information system, such issues will
never be experienced (Mosier, Roberts & Englebright, 2019).
Besides, involved in prescriptions and pharmacists will be able
to give the right medication as opposed to when such
prescriptions are handwritten and can be misread, which
increases the risk of giving the wrong medication. Therefore,
nursing informatics will change the nursing informatics by
making it more integrated. There is increased communication
between the nurse and the patient and integrating them in the
treatment process to ensure the best patient outcomes are
realized. Holding discussions with the patients increases
interpersonal relations and they are able to reveal other
symptoms they might have (Nagle et al., 2017). Other factors
likely to affect the treatment process are revealed making it
easier for the nurse to avoid approaches that might not be
culturally acceptable during care delivery. This makes care
delivery more personal and realizes the best outcomes.
Required Technology
Technology innovations made previously in the healthcare
systems have made a great milestone towards improving
processes by making them more effective. This project will be
highly dependent on electronic health records and medical
records for implementation. HER was previously implemented
as a technology breakthrough who main objective was to store
patient information (Kinnunen et al., 2019). Therefore, the
nursing professionals must have the necessary technical
knowledge on the performance of the electronic health record.
EHR and EMR led to a breakthrough in healthcare services by
making it easier to access patient history, making it easier to
offer evidence-based interventions, and improving overall
efficiency in handling patient record with higher degree of
privacy (Kinnunen et al., 2019). Through this system, the
5. proposed project makes digital records of patient information,
reducing the possibility of losing or misplacing patient
information. This ensures that reference information is
accessible at the click of a button. Adopting these technologies
will lead to high efficiency by significantly reducing the errors
that were previously committed during treatment. This
guarantees high quality healthcare services and batter patient
outcomes because of more accurate diagnosis based on patient’s
medical needs. Technology makes it easier to streamline
healthcare services to promote the quality and sustainability.
Project Team
The project will have a team of individual of carrying out
various project activities. The organization’s project manager
will be responsible for ensuring project plan and budget is
presented before the organization’s management for approval.
The project manager will work closely with organization’s
finance manager when assessing the benefits, the project will
bring to the organization and decide whether it is feasible. The
IT department manager will be an integral part of the project
because he will help in the technical aspects of the project
including the software needed for the project. A quality
manager needs to be part of the team because he is responsible
for assessing the quality requirements for the patient are
observed at all levels of project implementation. The nursing
informacists will be needed because they are responsible for
using the system and they will be trained during the project
utilization phase to ensure they are able to use the system
effectively as well as adhering to privacy and quality of care
(Sipes, 2016).
Conclusion
Technology is an important aspect in the healthcare setting, and
any care delivering system need to have technology driven
services to keep up with healthcare market competition. Patient
outcomes are used as metrics for assessing the efficiency and
6. effectiveness of the healthcare systems. An organization that is
unable to meet the desired care outcomes among patients will
not be preferred by patients. Besides, the nurses play a
significant role in ensuring the goal of the organization of
achieve better patient outcomes is achieved. Therefore, with the
appropriate systems in place, these goals will be achieved. The
nursing informatics will have a significant impact on overall
efficiency, which will drive better patient outcomes for the
organization.

Book Review Instructions
The student will review 1 scholarly book of his/her choice from
7. the Book Review Approved Book List. Failure to use a book
from this list will result in an automatic 50% grade reduction.
All books will be available in e-format through the Jerry
Falwell Library.
The Book Review must contain 700–800 words and must focus
on the author’s argument in support of his or her thesis. Use
parenthetical citations when citing material from the book.
Here are some additional tips and suggestions.
1. Above all, what is the author’s thesis? What is he or she
trying to prove? In other words, what is holding the book
together?
1. Identify the key arguments used to support the thesis. The
student cannot describe all of them in minute detail, but he/she
must provide an overview of all of them.
1. Always thoroughly read the introduction and conclusion.
Often, the author will describe the thesis in the introduction and
emphasize how it was proven in the conclusion. Determine what
the author considers to be the key chapters offering support for
the thesis. Thoroughly read those as well if time allows. There
is an “art” to skimming chapters that the student must develop.
1. Do not get bogged down in the minutia of details. Facts
matter, especially when the student relies upon evidence from
books and articles to support his/her own research agenda. In
other words, the student will use historians' arguments and the
distinct facts and evidence to support the thesis statements of
his/her own research papers in future classes. But, those facts
and minor details are not part of a Book Review. Focus on the
larger themes.
1. Be sure to tell the story or stories that make the book a work
of history. Retelling good stories we learn from other historians
is an important part of what we do.
Format
Top: Bibliographic citation in current Turabian format. Be
certain to use title case, not all caps, and italicize the title. For
example:
8. Religion and Resistance in Appalachia: Faith and the Fight
against Mountaintop Removal Coal Mining. By Joseph D. Witt.
(Lexington: The University of Kentucky Press, 2016. Pp. 284.)
Paragraph 1:
At the start, provide a succinct statement of what the book is
about. Mention the author’s full name and the full title and
publisher of the book. Then, explain the author’s thesis.
Paragraph 2:
Explain the main arguments the author uses to support the
thesis. Examine how the author lays out the main arguments. Do
not provide a synopsis of the book, where the student walks
through the book chapter by chapter. That is not the point of a
Book Review.
Paragraph 3:
Evaluate the effectiveness of the arguments and the evidence
used. Always provide both positive and critical comments, and
encourage ways the argument could be improved or otherwise
sharpened.
Paragraph 4:
The student’s concluding paragraph must very briefly restate
the importance of the book to the study of the topic, the
student’s general assessment of its conclusions, and the
effectiveness with which the author defended the thesis.
Submit this assignment by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of
Module/Week 3.
