The Holocaust was the systematic state-sponsored persecution and murder of six million Jews by the Nazi regime and its allies. It began in 1933 with the rise of the Nazis in Germany and ended in 1945. Adolf Hitler blamed the Jews for Germany's defeat in World War I and the economic struggles of the 1920s. Once in power, the Nazis passed laws discriminating against Jews and excluding them from society. After invading Poland in 1939, the Nazis confined Jews to ghettos and later began mass deportations of Jews to concentration and extermination camps, where most were killed in gas chambers or by other means. By the end of World War II, two-thirds of European Jews had been killed in the Holocaust.
This is a presentation I created for a class that I just took on the Holocaust. In addition to the 6 million Jewish victims of the Holocaust, my presentation includes information about the 3.3 million Soviet POW's; about 300,000 Gypsies or Roma; 2 million non Jewish Poles; 250,000 mentally and physically disabled; 15,000 homosexuals; 5,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses, and an untold number of Roman Catholics. (The Nazi authorities in the concentration camps usually did not record the religious affiliation of a prisoner, with the exception of the Jehovah Witnesses; therefore, it is difficult to reliably estimate the total number of Catholic victims who were persecuted or killed because of some action or position connected to their Catholic faith).

“A Man’s Obsession with the Perfect Race”
I’m taking an informative approach while arguing an opposing view to explain how one man would go so far to achieve his idea of a perfect race, through many different types of methods that were used to almost erase people that did not fit Hitler’s Aryan theory such as, experiments that were conducted in his beliefs in racial purity, on the Jews. With an insight in concentration camps and gas chambers, as well as important events such as the night of the broken glass. All these methods leading a crater in history forever lingering on the minds of human race.
Who was the man behind the Aryan theory? Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889 in Austrian. Born out of wedlock to Maria Anna Schickelgruber. There is speculation about Hitler family line that he might have Jewish blood from his mother and his grandfather. In 2010, the British Paper the Daily Telegraph had samples from 39 of Hitler relatives to test their DNA and found it inconclusively to support that idea. Living in Linz, Hitler was a lover for visual arts. Hitler and his father were always clashing heads, both at different ends of the sticks. Nevertheless, Hitler made an effort on his dream. Hitler knew true poverty, and made enough to live before moving to Munich were he experienced the general antisemitism. Hitler had to depend on the Jews for his survival knowing that he had to survive on the Jews, this fact lead to his hatred for all Jews. After World War I, that is when Hitler begin to show, and accept, the “anti-Semitic” ideology. Hitler was greatly influenced by many powerful leaders and political movements that were against anyone that wasn’t German. One movement called: “The German Racist Nationalism” propagated by the upper Austrian Pan-German politician Georg von Schonerer. A powerful political leader the Mayor of Vienna Karl Lueger. There is not a lot of people that could impress Hitler. Lueger was the most influential person in Hitler life. Lueger reinforced antisemitism more into the society making it more practical and organizational than just an ideology and theory. Hitler begin to engage with the theory of The German Racist Nationalism, when the first outbreak of the First World War, Hitler was promoted to corporal with the Iron cross as a runner. Later down the road he was sent to Intelligence and Propaganda section. Where he found he was a master in giving speeches, charismatic, and persuading people to his side. His mission there was making speeches to the troops to promoting German nationalism and anti-Socialism. He was part of the German Worker’s Party, and very extreme anti-communist, Anti-Semitic right wing organization.

Nothing sends shivers down the spine of humanity more than the mention of the Holocaust. Holocaust refers to the mass killing of European Jews between 1941-1945. (Polgar, M. 2018). The horror of the Holocaust lies not only with the horrendous experience the Jews had to go through. It lies with the fact that the entire world was silent while the Jews were being killed and forced into concentration camps. The Holocaust was a tragic incident in the history of human beings that taught us very significant lessons, such as the danger of silence, the importance of standing up against evil, and the power of evil.
Holocaust taught us the importance of fighting evil. Holocaust was the epitome of levels of evil that humanity can descend to when left unchecked. The Holocaust was state-sponsored. The killing and systemic persecution of the Jews were due to two beliefs the Nazis had. Firstly they thought that the Jews were an inferior race. (Polgar, M. 2018). They did not see Jews as religious but as a race. The killing of the Jews was an attempt by the Nazi government to rid the Aryan race of Jewish impurity. (Wolff, N. (2020). The German Nazis wanted to develop a superior race, so physicians were very much part of the exercise. This cleansing was done by burning the Jews whole in the crematoriums, shooting them, gassing them and starving them to death in concentration camps. (Polgar, M. 2018).
The Nazi government saw the Jews as an obstacle to their political aspirations. Jews promoted social justice, while the Nazis wanted the strong trampled upon the weak. The sheer atrocities and the lengths they were willing to go to because they saw themselves as superior Aryan race is appalling. Overall, the Nazis killed approximately 6 million Jews, representing about two-thirds of the entire Jewish population. The attempt of the Nazis to annihilate almost an entire people teaches us the power of evil and the extent of that evil when left unchecked. The Nazis could accomplish all these by enacting laws that targeted the Jews because universal human rights had not been declared. The Holocaust was an extreme violation of human rights. The declaration of Human rights by the U.N. was to prevent another genocide. (Polgar, M. 2018).
The Holocaust taught the danger of silence in the face of evil. While Jews were being annihilated and forced into concentration camps, the entire world watched in silence. Throughout 1938-1942 American Newspapers reported on the persecution of the Jews. The News reports on the killing and persecution did not cover much space in the Newspapers. Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.

Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. Introduction
The argument that man is a social being is debatable. Living together still renders a
challenge. Human dignity is violated in the name of having superior race and ethnicity. Many
abuses and atrocities are committed in the name of expanding or showing the superiority of a
group. The big question and challenge that still remains is that can human live together and
respect each other rights? Today, we can really talk about a country that is peaceful even the
world greatest democratic countries, USA. Many human rights are abused. Most groups
believe that their problems could be solved by eliminating the other groups, to prevent such,
understanding the history of the holocaust can help in avoiding genocide in the future.
This paper seeks to explore what had happened in Germany during the holocaust and
how it came to an end. In addition, the research seeks to recommend some practical steps that
can be used to stop or handle cases of another “holocaust” in the future as most countries are
tumult.
Epistemology of Holocaust
Holocaust is a word derived from the Greek word “holokauston”. According to
Berenbaum (2017) and History.com (2009) that the Greek word is a translation of the
Hebrew word Olah meaning “a brunt sacrifice offered whole to God.” This argument further
holds that choose of word came because the bodies of victims of Nazi were wholly consumed
in cremation and open fire. Berenbaum (2017) and Findly and Rothney (2002) described
holocaust in this context, as the systematic state-sponsored killing of six million Jewish men,
women and children and others which History.com (2009) that others were Gypsies and
homosexuals by Nazi Germany and its collaborators during the World War II. The German
referred to the holocaust as “the final solution to the Jewish question”.

Housden (2007) argued that before Hitler assumed power that there were less than
one percent of the German population and the German Jews were well educated, respectable
citizens and worked in most professional fields such as banking, medicine, and law. The
German Jews were at that time accorded equal legal rights by the constitutions of the German
Empire and the Weimar Republic despite the equal rights but the anti-Jewish feelings made it
impossible for the Jewish to occupy traditionally elite Institutions like the Prussian Civil
Service or Officer Crops. The stigmatation of the Jewish people was not Halter’s idea.
According to History.com (2009) that before holocaust there were evident of hostility. For
instance, Martin Luther founder of the Protestants churches what can be termed to be hate
speech then followed by the pagans in German because of their Christian heritage.

Jewish people were not human beings but pets which had to be exterminated since that the
killing of Jesus was not a crime but a necessity (Welch 1994; p.143). This are ways in which

The origin of the anti-Semitism can be further be rooted in 1923, when Hitler was
imprisoned for treason in the Beer Hall Putsch (History.com. 2009). It is followed that while
imprisoned, Hitler wrote a memoir and propaganda tract “Mein Kampf” (my struggle), in
which he predicted a general European war that would result in “the extermination of the
Jewish race in Germany” but Welch (1994) argued that exterminated were not the Jews but
“unhealthy” Germans (p.137) through sterilization of people suffering from inherited

diseases. According to Rothney and Findley (2002) that the book “Mein Kampf” lead to
Hitler successful objectives. Furthermore, Hitler was a “social Darwinist” who believed that
among species there is a survival of the fittest. Hitter was obsessed by the superiority of the
“pure” German race, which he called “Ayan”, and with the need for “Lebensraum”, or a
living space in the east for that race to expand especially from the Soviet Union that were
regarded as the “racially inferior race. After his released from prison, Hitter took advantage
of the weakness of his rivals and promoted his party status. He was named chancellor of the
Germans on January 20, 1933 and after the death of president Paul van Hindenburg, Hitter
anointed himself as “fuhrer”, becoming Germany’s supreme ruler. After the Nazi electoral
victory in March 1933, the Nazi group went on a rampage, assaulting Jews, damaging their
properties and demanding a” Jewish free” economy (Welch 1994, p. 137). The official move
against the Jewish people was the announcement made by Hitler on September 1935 on
further batch of anti-Jewish legislation (appendix 1.0 from Modern European History P.138-
141). Holoculst can be said to have started after German invasion of the Soviet Union in
June 1941 and then implemented on 20 January1942 after the Wannsee Conference (Welch,
1994). The war could have been aviated as U.S. War Department refused to divert planes
conducting raids near Auschwitz to bomb the gas chambers and the railway lines leading to
the death camp (Keylor, 2010, p. 177).
At the end, twenty-two top Nazi leaders in the city of Bavarian city of Nuremberg
from November 1945 to September 1946 were some sentenced to ten years imprisonment and
some to death but three who were saved contributed a new term to vocabulary of
international law: “crimes against humanity”.

Perpetrators were the German Nazi Party under the rule of Hitler. The Nazi’s victimized the
German Jews, disabled Germans, Slavic people, religious dissidents, i.e., the Jehovah
Witnesses, Gypsies (Roma, Sinti and Lalleri), homosexuals, soviet war prisoners and German
political opponents, clergy, non-secular people and partisans among other group (Gilbert,
1986).
