There are four main sects in Hinduism that worship different main gods, including Shaivism which focuses on Shiva, and Vaishnavism which focuses on Vishnu. The main Hindu gods are part of the Trimurti and include Brahma the creator, Vishnu the preserver, and Shiva the destroyer. Each of these main gods has a female counterpart or shakti, such as Saraswati the goddess of knowledge who is paired with Brahma, and Lakshmi the goddess of wealth who is paired with Vishnu.
