Kenneth Bianchi and Angelo Buono were serial killers known as the Hillside Stranglers who murdered 10 young women in Los Angeles between 1977-1979. They left signature marks on the victims' wrists and necks. Bianchi had a troubled childhood, being raised by adoptive parents with a history of mental illness, abuse, and rejection by women. He and Buono raped and murdered their victims, often leaving the bodies on hillsides in LA. They were eventually caught and charged with killing 14 women total.

feeling of resentment towards society
brought on by their own failings, sexual
frustrations, an inability to be social or
socially accepted”

• Kenneth Bianchi and Angelo Buono
were guilty of kidnapping, rapping,
torturing, and then murdering girls from
the age of 12-28.
• They left signature marks on the victim’s
wrist and neck

5. Kenneth Bianchi
Born May 22, 1951 in Rochester, New York
His mother was an alcoholic and prostitute and had
him at seventeen, she gave him up for adoption to
the Bianchi couple. As a boy was a compulsive liar
and had an anger problem that resulted in many
temper tantrums. He was also diagnosed with Petit
Mal Syndrome and was later treated at a psychiatric
center for mental problems

6. Anger
• Bianchi anger and objectification of
women stemmed from a variety of
sources, but it would be safe to assume
that much of that rage and resentment
was towards his own birth mother, and
his adoptive mother for having told him
who and what she was.

7. Religion
• Also, religion had featured prominently
in Kenneth's childhood, which
contributed to his skewed view of
women; he objected to girls wearing
"sexy" clothes, even jeans, and
expected every girl he was with to be a
virgin.

8. • At age of eighteen, he married Brenda Beck whom he cheated
on several times to the point of her leaving him
• Faced many rejections in life:
– Married another woman whom she left after eight months of
marriage
– His job application as a police officer was turned down
several times
– Finally did get a job as a security guard but was charged
with theft and then fired
– Proposed to his ex-wife again whom she turned down
because of not having a stable job

10. THE FIRST MURDER
• Deborah and friend Yolanda Washington sold
a fake list of prostitute names to the cousins
• To get revenge the cousins raped and
murdered Yolanda Washington
• Washington’s body was found on a hillside
with a cloth still tired around her neck from
being choked to death and marks on her neck
and wrist

15. • Two years later, on October 22, 1979,
Bianchi’s evil behavior came to an end
• He was arrested for rapping and murdering
two university students
• Bianchi was found because of leaving pubic hairs
on Cindy Hudspeth’s body
• After intensive investigation, Kenneth Bianchi and
Angelo Buono was charged with rapping and
murdering fourteen victims
