John Edward Robinson is a convicted serial killer who was found guilty of murdering 3 women and received the death penalty for two of the murders. He has since admitted to killing 5 additional women and meeting most of his victims through online chat rooms, earning him the nickname "the Internet's first serial killer". Robinson has a long history of fraud, embezzlement, forgery and has been incarcerated multiple times for these crimes. He would gain his victims' trust by promising them jobs or relationships before killing them. Robinson was finally arrested in 2000 after the remains of 5 women were found in chemical drums on his property and in a storage unit he rented, leading to his conviction.
