3. Main problems
1. Traffic flow problems due to industrial zone
Movement of heavy vehicles day and night.
These heavy vehicles such as oil tankers and trucks are
parked on the sides of the road, waiting for their loading
and offloading turn in the factories.
Hence, they are affecting traffic flow negatively.
4. Main problems
2. Difficult movement of vehicles due to worst road
condition.
Due to the road condition, all vehicles are driven in
zigzags to avoid potholes
The condition of the road near kaak-bridge and Sowan is
very pathetic.
3. Non-deployment of traffic Police
The practice of the vehicles is going unchecked as there is
non-deployment of traffic police.
5. Main problems
4. No Maintenance
Despite the public huge demand, public departments are
not taking any measures for the maintenance of the road.
5. Two-Way Traffic on narrow road
The road width is very narrow.
But the traffic is two-way. This narrow road can’t handle
huge traffic of the industrial vehicles as well as public
transport.
6.
7. Main problems
6. Un-availability of traffic signals
There should be traffic signals to ensure orderly traffic
flow, but unfortunately there is no such availability.
7. Un-availability of parking spaces.
Local transport stop for pick and drop of passengers
effects the uniform traffic flow.
It is because there is no availability of parking at vehicles
stop.
8.
9. Short Term Solutions
1. Authorities concerned should repair the road, especially
from kak-bridge and section of the Sowan as its worst
condition can lead to fatal accidents anytime.
2. Industries must guide their staff of heavy vehicles and
should get them follow the traffic rules and regulations.
3. Deployment of Traffic warden at critical points, for
example, the critical points like Punjab Oil Mill, Yamaha
Chowk, and near Kak-bridge etc. Police should not let the
tankers or heavy loaded vehicles stand on the sides of the
road.
10. Short Term Solutions
4. Automatic traffic signals should be provided on critical
points.
5. Vehicles should be parked at specific places so that they
do not cause traffic congestion.
Long Term Solutions
1. Construction of one another Lane.
2. Time Adjustment for industrial vehicles.
3. Provision of median to separate two way traffic.
