2. Definition and Meaning
Patriotism is also known as National Pride. It is
seen as the feeling of love, devotion and sense of
attachment to homeland and alliance with other
citizens who share the same sentiment.
It is the feeling of loving your country more than
any other country.
Devoted love, support and defense of one’s
country. It is also known as national loyalty.
PATRIOTISM

3. CAUSES OF DISUNITY
Primarily, disobedience leads to disunity. A
good person must learn to obey laws and
order. When you obey your superiors, you
instruct your inferior.
Another cause of disunity is lack of wisdom.
Wisdom is needed for discernment .
Uncontrolled pride can also lead to disunity
especially when one feels that one is a god
among others.

4. CAUSES OF DISUNITY IN HOMES,
SOCIETY AND SCHOOLS
Corruption , corrupt parents or
school leaders.
Politics about the well-being of
children or students.
Unorganized or no sense of
direction at home or school
Favoritism
Disobedience to authorities
Disrespect to constituted authorities

5. • WAYS TO MAINTIAN UNITY
Parents and Leaders should not act as dictators. An organization
or society is greater than any one person.
Let there be strong belief in family and unity.
Let there be a strong cultural bond among the family, those in
school and society at large.
Individuals should be loyal to the vision and mission of the
school and society.
Always be calm in situations of crises.
There should be sense of responsibility and belonging .
Envy should be a positive one that calls for a healthy
competition.
