Human activities such as oil spills, fertilizer runoff, trash pollution, and overfishing are harming marine animals and disrupting ocean ecosystems. Oil causes hypothermia, poisoning, and internal damage in marine life. Fertilizers and sewage cause eutrophication. Trash and plastic choke and block marine species. Toxic chemicals cause health problems. Overfishing disrupts food chains and can lead to extinction. However, small individual actions like eating sustainable seafood, reducing plastic use, participating in cleanups, and being energy efficient can collectively make a big difference in helping marine life if everyone contributes a little of their time and effort.
