Heartstrings Community Foundation was established in 1999 as a nonprofit to provide opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to live meaningful and productive lives through community interactions and employment. Unlike traditional day services, HCF focuses on individuals' abilities and places them in real jobs in the community with proper training and support. Employees work in small teams for businesses like Applebee's, CVS, and stores that sort donated goods. HCF assists individuals in finding jobs and teams based on their abilities and choices, provides job coaching, and encourages expansion into other opportunities and a healthy lifestyle. The goal is for employees to be successful, valued community members.
