6σ activity involves applying statistical tools and processes to design, manufacturing, and service processes to identify factors that cause defects, take corrective actions, and increase customer satisfaction. The goal is to achieve a defect rate of 3.4 defects per million opportunities by shifting processes to the target and reducing variation. Implementing 6σ as a business strategy can help gain a competitive edge through improved quality, lower costs, and greater customer satisfaction.
This document provides an introduction to Six Sigma, including an overview of what it is, why it's used, key concepts like defects per million opportunities (DPMO) at different sigma levels, and the DMAIC methodology involving define, measure, analyze, improve, and control phases. It also outlines some common Six Sigma tools and roles like Green Belts, Black Belts, Master Black Belts, Champions, and executive leadership. The goal of Six Sigma is to improve quality, reduce defects and variation in processes, and increase customer satisfaction.
Six sigma is a statistical approach to process improvement that aims to reduce defects. It was developed by Motorola in the 1970s to improve quality. The six sigma method includes phases such as Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control to identify and remove defects in processes. It uses statistical tools and follows a DMAIC or DMADV model. While six sigma aims to improve processes and reduce defects, some critics argue it is more focused on appraisal than prevention and does not always yield quality improvements.
The document provides an overview of Six Sigma, including:
1) It defines Six Sigma as a methodology for continuous improvement and creating high quality products and processes using statistical tools.
2) It discusses the origins and growth of Six Sigma at Motorola and GE in the 1980s-1990s.
3) It describes the DMAIC methodology used for process improvement projects and the roles of Master Black Belts, Black Belts, and Green Belts in a Six Sigma organization.

The document outlines the main sections of a research article, including the title, abstract, introduction, methodology, results, conclusions, and references. It provides the main functions and preferred writing styles for each section, such as keeping the title and abstract short and concise while using past tense for the methodology. Rules of thumb are also given for each section, such as avoiding redundancy in the title and focusing the conclusions on answering the research questions rather than recapping results.
The Society of Concurrent Product Development (SOCPD) aims to promote integrated product development practices. Its mission is to disseminate knowledge of concurrent engineering and further develop its body of knowledge. The document outlines SOCPD's history and evolution since the 1980s, including expanding its mission, objectives, and body of knowledge to keep up with emerging techniques and technologies in concurrent product development.
This document provides an overview of typography concepts using dating and relationships as an analogy. It begins with basic typography terminology like typeface vs. font and type anatomy. It then discusses appropriate typeface selection based on intended audience and medium. Details like hierarchy, alignment, kerning, and leading are covered to help "make it work." Alternative character styles and licensing are briefly touched on. The overall document aims to help readers find the "perfect match" in typography through understanding its fundamental elements.
The document discusses principles and approaches for improving work efficiency through motion study and work design, including:
1. Four principles of motion economy to reduce unnecessary movement - reduce motions, perform simultaneously, shorten distances, make motions easier.
2. Ergonomic considerations for tool and workstation layout such as positioning parts and tools for sequential use, gravity feeding, and correct working heights.
3. Methods for analyzing and improving operations including eliminating unnecessary steps, simplifying processes, combining tasks, and rearranging sequences.
Visual control is a business management technique employed in many places where information is communicated by using visual signals instead of texts or other written instructions. The design is deliberate in allowing quick recognition of the information being communicated, in order to increase efficiency and clarity.

Control is a key enabling technology for deploying renewable energy systems like solar and wind power. Advanced control techniques are needed for the reliable and high-performance operation of these intermittent renewable sources. The smart grid can help facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources by providing enhanced controllability and responsiveness through extensive use of control technologies at all levels of the electric power system.

• Tập trung liên tục vào những yêu cầu của khách hàng;
dao động trong quy trình sản xuất và các qui trình quản lý khác;
• Xác định căn nguyên của các vấn đề;
