The Landsat 7 Processing System (LPS) processes Landsat 7 data into science data products. It receives raw telemetry from the Landsat 7 satellite and constructs images from the data without applying corrections. The LPS divides the data into subintervals and produces multi-band files and metadata for each. It also generates browse images and assesses cloud cover for each subinterval. The LPS data products are separated into Format 1 and Format 2 files representing the two types of raw data received by the LPS. The Level Zero-R science products created by the LPS support further processing but are not yet calibrated or rectified.
