Selected Accomplishments
Improved productivity to meet demand. EXAL was sold out for six months and was losing sales. Authored and
orchestrated a process improvement strategy. Boosted productivity by 10%. Cut operating expenses by $2M
through LEAN concepts, SMED, POKA YOKE, and more. Avoided capital expense of $15M for more equipment.
Decreased costs without harming quality. Constar needed to improve profit margins. Trimmed labor cost
across nine manufacturing locations. Combined operator and maintenance jobs into one position through cross
training. Overcame initial resistance. Logged total savings of $5.2M annually.
Led LEAN implementation. Created Constar implementation plan. Selected trainers who trained 300 people in
value stream mapping. Established 42 Kaizen teams. Cut inventories from $55.8M to $35.1M. Trimmed
warehousing costs $3.4M annually and production costs by $8.2M. Achieved like demurrage and elsewhere.
Improved safety. Constar’s accident rates were much higher than industry average. Created a zero accident
culture that included safety audits at plant and corporate levels. Cut average annual comp costs from $1.2M to
$54K. Beat the industry average of 6.4 accidents per 100 employees for nine years in a row.
Drove quality from average to stellar. As VP of Operations, developed and implemented a quality strategy
based on zero defects. Automated real time SPC. Trained all employees in failure mode analysis. Led Constar to
become #1 supplier for Pepsi, Unilever, and Kroger. Cut cost of customer claims from $1.2M to $125K annually.
Led a turnaround. The Western Region was the worst in the company. Upon taking over, quickly determined that
the Dallas plant (the company’s biggest) was also the Region’s poorest performer. Built a new plant two miles
away that facilitated re-engineering the manufacturing process. Cut annual costs by $6.5M.

Operations Consultant – EXAL Corporation – 2010 to 2011. Developed and implemented World Class
Performance Process Systems for the world’s largest producer of extruded aluminum cans.
Senior Vice President Operations – Constar Plastics, Inc. – 2007 to 2010. Constar is an $850M, 2,300-employee
packaging manufacturer. Responsible for P&L, manufacturing, logistics, project and process engineering and
related support functions. Managed 10 direct reports and a $650M budget.
Vice President Operations - Constar Plastics, Inc. - 2003 to 2007. After the announcement of the IPO, selected to
lead standard method manufacturing process optimization and implement World-Class Performance concepts.

Western Regional Manager – Constar Plastics, Inc. - 2000 to 2003. Managed P&L, $250M expense budget,
seven manufacturing locations, 700+ managers and employees.
