Hamsters have different species:

3. How to choose a hamster
You can tell whether the hamster is healthy by looking for:
- Bright eyes
- Energetic and full power
- Bright and shiny fur
- Making sure there are no cuts or wounds
- Healthy, hard teeth
4. IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Hamsters hide their food in their cages, so you will find
your hamster’s plate empty. Don’t fill it up all the time because
they might eat too much and die. Remember that they have
more than enough food hidden so don’t always fill up the plate!
When you buy hamster seeds, make sure it does not
contain Ethoxyquin, which is harmful to small animals and can
cause cancer and other diseases.
Don’t feed too much food that contain a lot of sugar to
your hamster. Feed them fresh vegetables and fruits.
5. DID YOU KNOW?
• You can control the gender of the hamsters; when a hamster
is pregnant and you keep them in warm places, its babies will
have more boys and if you keep them in cold places, the
babies will have more girls.
• The male hamster gets jealous of the female hamsters, for
they have babies, so the males eat the baby hamsters, but
after it’s a week old, they don’t get eaten.
• If you give hamsters dog biscuit, which is hard, they will start
chewing on them and not the bars of the cage.
• Most male hamsters live longer than female hamsters.
