2. Introduction On Cassowary
The cassowaries are ratites,
very large flightless
birds, in the genus
Casuarius native to the
tropical forests of New
Guinea, nearby islands,
and northeastern
Australia.
There are three extant
species recognized today.
3. Intro on the Flat Rafts birds
These flightless birds are
known as ratites, a term
derived from a Latin
word “ Ratis “ meaning “
Rafts “ . Unlike flying
birds, the breast bone of a
ratifies is flat, just like
raft.
4. What Cassowary eat ?
They tend to swallow shiny objects, which stay in their
gizzards. The objects help to grind up food.
8. How long can the Cassowary live?
It can live up to 40 years.
9. Habitat
Cassowary lives in the rainforest of Coastal Northern
Queensland Australia. In the rainforest, they live in a
dense bushland where they can easily hide, from low-
lying swamland forests to high mountainous forest.
They no need to live in the ground floor or the
understorey chambers because they are known to be
poor climber/fightless.
10. Egg of the Cassowary
The size of the egg of a
Cassowary bird is like
a size of a plastic mug
( big ) it comes in a
form of oval and
mostly blue green or
black color depending
on the species of the
bird and where it lives.
11. Value Aspects of Cassowary
- It is the 2nd
largest ratite bird in New Guinea
and Northern Australia.
- The inner toe on each foot of the cassowary
has an elongated, dagger like claw attached.
The bird has been known to kill humans by
slashing them with that claw
12. NE Aspects of Cassowary
The Cassowary can defend itself by using their
inner claw and its strong head, just like how
Singapore need the army to defend and Police
force to defend Singapore.
A group of people outside or the animal hunters
are trying to preserve the species of the bird just
like how we are trying to preserve our racial and
religious harmony.

19. Reflection
The trip was fun and exciting because I get to go
to the zoo with my friends rather than my
parents as I get to learn more about the animals
and their habitat. Also it was a meaningful
experience as we get to learn work together as a
team.
We as a group enjoy the trip and the trip was a
memorable one and enjoyable.
