Hamlet is a play by William Shakespeare that follows the Prince of Denmark, Hamlet, as he seeks revenge on his uncle Claudius for murdering Hamlet's father and marrying his mother Gertrude. The ghost of Hamlet's father appears and tells Hamlet that he was in fact murdered by Claudius. Hamlet decides to feign madness to investigate further. His plan leads to the deaths of Polonius, Ophelia, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, and eventually his mother Gertrude.
